Gay characters on soaps

i started this thread in the Y&R in error, tried to get it moved but there was a problem so i will have to start over,

seems like the Y&R is introducing a gay character, he has not been on very long and already people are up in arms about the s/l, i say the easy thing to do is DVR the soap, FF thru what you don't like, i do it all the time, stop making a big deal over something that may happen in the future

Funny thing is that when this character first came on most posters thought he was sexy.I wonder how many of them are now going to moan and groan.

Just be happpy Y & R wasn't cancelled like GL. All sls on all soaps are not for everybody, understandably.

They have quite the discussion on the GL board over this same topic. I stay out of it...

Rafe Billys lawyer friend. Yea i have seen the upset about the gay s/l its funny how people want a new s/l and then they get one and they are mad about it!

Thanks for the info.... Can't believe fans are upset over this. Who cares?? I think it will give the s/l's a different twist!! (Can't please everyone.)

I haven't watched YR in quite a while and while I don't care for gay sls or have many gay friends I understand that the soaps are for everyone and have to include sls from all walks of life. To me this is a person has the right to choose gay or straight, beleive or not believe, and even to have kids or not. As long as they don't belittle those who disagree.

People don't choose to be gay or straight. In order for you to believe that you would have had to have chosen to be heterosexual over being homosexual. Sexuality is something that is intrinsic and not chosen.
