Okay I have got to get back into shape. Weight watchers always worked for me but now with so many kids activities to go to there is no time for me to go to the meetings. so I thought maybe we could have an thread here for diet tips, exercise plans and we can even report our weight losses here to encourage each other to keep moving further. so I guess I will go first. |

thanks I need something to keep me going. I have been up and down with my weight since the twins and its so not good for me. I am on blood pressure pills and chol pills. Plus my mom died at 36 from a heart attack. I don't want that to happen to me so I have to get my butt in gear! |

This thread is a great idea akwood, having people around you working towards the same goal helps keep you honest. Keeping food diaries lends a hand towards that too. It can be a bit of a pain in the beginning but once you get an idea of your daily caloric intake it's easier to modify. You can see if you're a stress eater or a boredom eater, carboholic (my food vice of choice) etc. I've made one up for the ladies at my gym, I can email it if you'd like. |

Personaly I don't like the bmi think they do not take muscle mass or bone mass into consideration even had a weight loss dr tell me this. I don't particularly care for the BMI (body mass index) measurement either. At 5'5", 150 lbs I'm technically classified as 'Overweight'. I'm not, I'm just more dense as I have a lower body fat. BMI is a decent general indicator but it you want something more specific your body fat measurement is a better way to go. You can get scales that'll do it for you as well which it makes it infinitely easier to measure. |

I've got to get away from my diet dr pepper. I've heard that diet pop is worse than regular. that it tricks your body into thinking you are getting real sugar and then when you don't your bod kicks into over drive wanting something sweet all over again. |

Dreamfields pasta is a decent substitute for regular pasta as well. It has few digestible carbs, I think it's only 5 grams of 32 and it's high in fibre. Doesn't taste half bad either. |

I need to get into shape too, I am 196 a size 16 and would like to be about 140-150, I used to weigh that and was pretty content it would make me a size 12. I just got really fed up yesterday and figured I really need to get into shape, I am young and life is passing me by being embarassed about being in a swimsuit. |
