A Fresh Start For the New Year.

Monday, December 29 2008
Paul gets another vision, Maddie prepares for a night with Casey, Alison and Casey kiss and Josie figures out who Lucy is.

Dusty meets Meg and Eliza at Al’s and talk turns to Johnny. Meg tells Dusty that he’s helped her get through a lot in her life and makes her feel strong; she hopes she does the same for him. Dusty assures her she does.

In his hospital room, Paul worries about Johnny and tells Barbara and Josie that if he doesn’t do something Johnny could die. The women leave his room and Josie asks Barbara if she believes Paul’s visions. Barbara doesn’t know and thinks it could be the illness talking. Josie thinks they should check it out, but Barbara says losing Johnny was like losing Jennifer all over again; she’s not sure if she can open that wound again. She takes solace in the fact that Johnny is safe with Lucy.

In Lucy’s hotel room, Alison and Lucy discuss the close call with Craig and how they need to find a donor for Johnny. Alison thinks it’s wrong for Dusty to not see his son. Lucy feels bad, but thinks she needs to just focus on finding a donor. Alison says she’s on it and Casey is her next stop.

At Metro, Maddie looks at a dress she bought to impress Casey as he walks in. They make plans to meet up for New Year’s Eve later and Henry enters. Casey leaves and Henry tries to warn his little sister away from Casey. He thinks she should start fresh, but Maddie thinks she can start fresh with Casey. Henry cites his moving on from Katie as the reason he found the life he has now and thinks she can do it as well. He won’t stand around and watch Casey break her heart again. Maddie asks Henry to trust her and to back off. Henry agrees but warns if Casey hurts her… They wish each other a Happy New Year, but Maddie already knows it will be happy.

Alison calls Casey and they make plans to meet at his house. After hanging up with Casey, Alison runs into Barbara. Babs introduces Alison to Josie and Alison remarks how much she looks like Jennifer. Alison then asks Barbara to get her blood tested for her ‘friend’s daughter’. Barbara doesn’t think she’ll be a good donor because of her cancer, but Alison persists and Barbara relents.

Josie comes upon Dusty and Meg and says she has to talk to him about Paul. Dusty won’t listen to what he thinks is nonsense, but Meg urges him to. Josie tells them that Paul thinks Johnny is at a place with airplanes and parachutes, but Dusty thinks it's ridiculous. Dusty makes some snide comments and Josie leaves. Meg insists Paul can see things others can’t, but Dusty doesn’t buy it. Meg wonders if Dusty can afford to take the chance of not checking it out.

Alison comes to Casey’s house and Casey opens the door in a towel. After some harmless flirting, Alison asks him if she can draw his blood. Casey agrees and they talk about New Year’s Eve while she gets a sample. Alison brings up the party at Metro and he tells her he’s already going with Maddie. Casey gets dressed and asks if Alison is mad at him for going to the party with Maddie. She insists she’s not and says she has a date for the party as well. Casey inquires and Alison says it’s just a guy at work. Casey is unconvincingly glad to hear Alison won’t be sitting home alone. Alison wants to test the rest of his family as well, but Casey isn’t sure Uncle Craig will agree. Alison pushes the Craig thing and Casey asks why. Alison makes up something about Craig fitting the ethnic type they need and then leaves to get ready for her ‘big date’. After she’s gone, Casey wistfully says, “Happy New Year Alison.”

Johnny asks Lucy if he can go outside and play and she agrees. While outside, Lucy calls Alison who tells her she’s having a productive day. Lucy is relieved and hopes someone other than Craig will be a match. She tells Alison she left her computer open to the donor registry page and asks her to check it out. Alison goes to the front desk at the hotel to get a new key to the room and Casey sees her. Casey asks the desk clerk, who he knows, what room Alison is in. After some prodding the guy gives out the info.

While Alison is on Lucy’s laptop, Casey knocks on the door and Alison scrambles to put all evidence of Johnny away. Alison explains she got the room for her ‘date’. Casey is suspicious and Alison gets defensive. Casey won’t leave her room until Alison tells him the truth. Alison stalls but then says she got the room for him. When Casey doesn’t believe her, Alison kisses him.

Meg, Dusty and Josie meet up at the hospital and Dusty goes into Paul’s room. Meg warns Josie about Paul, but Josie is confident Paul believes he is telling the truth about his nephew. Josie asks why Meg is there, alluding to the fact that Meg is really checking up on Paul. Meg isn’t sure Paul will ever get better, but Josie wonders if Meg hopes she, Paul and Eliza could be a family. Meg says she’s there for Dusty and that she will never be a family with Paul.

While Barbara sits at Paul’s bedside, Dusty asks Paul what his visions mean. Paul isn’t sure and Dusty starts to leave. Paul then says he sees a lion. Dusty thinks Paul is playing games and storms out of the room. He tells Josie he doesn’t want to hear about Paul’s visions anymore and accuses Josie of being in on it with Paul. He harshly tells her she’s not Jennifer and never will be and Josie walks away. Dusty tells Meg it’s like losing his boy all over again and leaves, but Meg stays behind.

Paul tells Barbara he is scared for Johnny and then sees Meg in the hallway. Barbara runs out and asks if she can hold Eliza. Meg agrees and Barbara tells Eliza about her father, which makes Meg uncomfortable. Barbara asks if she can take the baby in to see Paul, but Meg takes her daughter back saying Paul can’t be around her until he gets better. Barbara goes back in to see Paul and he realizes Meg doesn’t want him to see his daughter. Barbara admits Meg needs him to get better first and urges him to get well. She says he’ll have a fresh start in the New Year for his girls and Paul starts to cry.

Maddie fantasizes about Casey and her dancing to their song and him vowing to always love her.

Josie runs into Johnny and Lucy outside and Johnny calls Josie mommy again. Josie learns Lucy isn’t his mother when he calls her Lulu. He then asks for his lion before Lucy and Johnny run off.

Dusty makes a call to see if any of the data they’ve collected would suggest Johnny is in a place where he would come across a lion. His guy says no and Dusty throws Johnny’s file away.

Josie goes back to the hospital and asks after Lucy. The woman she talks to knows who Lucy is and helps Josie find a photo of her, where upon Josie learns the woman with the little boy is really Lucy, deducing that the little boy is Johnny. She calls Dusty, but he ignores her call.

Next on As the World Turns:

Noah tells Maddie if she doesn’t knock Casey dead in that dress, he doesn’t know what will, as Casey and Alison get it on in bed.

Lucinda asks Brian why he doesn’t want to be alone with her.

At Metro, Luke and Noah make plans to have ‘the night’ as Brian walks in.

Rynomom- thanks so much for the refresher on the comment page under Fridays episode!
As soon as I began reading it all came flooding back!
It really helps to put things into perspective right now.

I don't think I care for the new Maddie too much. Something HAS to be up with her. Maybe she is pregnant and wants to hurry up and do it with Casey so she can say its his? Farfetched but something is up- IMO.

Well I for one just want to say good bye to As The World Turns, I am so sick of the homo crap all the time, it makes me wanna and need to puke, I cannot believe this show has scooped to these levels, are they desperate for ratings or what? I was looking forward to one day seeing Henry and Vienna have a baby, and Damion coming back, but nobody can get past all the dead people and the homo's, so I for one am out of here, and REFUSE TO WATCH THIS CRAP ANYMORE!! TOODLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't care for the new Maddie at all. Am getting tired of the same ole story line with Paul. Hurry up and solve the mystery of Johnny, someone ought to wise up real soon as to what Allison is up too. Was hoping that the s/l would get better with this show but as of now I'm not to hopeful that the show will improve. SO SAD IF IT DOESN'T.

the bold & the beautiful is the same way it's sad how their dragging these stories down along with thw ratings if the writers don't change they will probably get cancelled

guess thats why their bringing the old actors back to boost ratings but as you can see it's not working

I'm not quite sure what "level" this soap has supposedly "scooped"? to? I think it's so sad to read hateful remarks about the Luke and Noah characters, they are a couple in love that just happen to be gay. That is a fact of life and some people could certainly learn some acceptance and tolerance.

dusty is a idiot. that's all i must say on him. and josie for some reason is getting on my good side i like her and once she put yhe peices together dusty will look like an idoit.

Dusty is being a real jerk. He is no better than Paul is and Paul is crazy so he has an excuse. Haha! I have nothing against gays. I have friends & relatives who are gay. I think it's mainly how Luke's character is portrayed. A whiner constantly & now when his older stepfather wanting him also? I don't care for the new Maddie either.

I'm surprised the "scooped" to having blacks on the show. I mean I don't mind them, just not on my television. And an inter-racial couple. They must be desperate for ratings.

Geez, I guess a prejudice by any name smells just as bad.
Bigotry is bigotry and it all sucks.

by the way i have nothing against gay people or inter-racial people i just don't believe in it

i say each to their own.

gay people are nice people i don't judge them or c ut them down same goes with inter racial

god is the final judge

also everyone is entitled to how they feel.

also my next door neighbor is gay & her & her girlfriend are the nicest kind of people who would help you in a heart beat unlike some straight people
