Brad, Katie and the baby are taken to the hospital, Ralph turns on Teri and Audrey has an escape plan.
Casey desperately calls Maddie over to his place to help him write a paper. "We're not in high school anymore," she says, suggesting they get some caffeine so his brain cells will start firing.
At home, Janet sits by the crib and calls Brad, leaving a message, asking him to come and see his daughter.
In the warehouse, Brad begs Ralph to let him see his son. Jack barges in and begins shooting. The baby cries. Henry runs to Katie as Jack searches the shadows and finds Brad on the floor. "No!" he gasps. Brad asks him to look after Katie. "Man! I feel so funky!" Brad groans before losing consciousness. Margo and some cops arrive. She hurries over to her sister and checks on the baby before questioning Jack. When Jack admits that he shot Brad, she takes his gun. "I shot my brother," he says. The EMTs wheel Katie out.
Dusty runs into Ali at the diner and asks her where her boyfriend is. She says she doesn't have one. He offers to talk to Casey for her. Ali doubts relationship advice is what he's good at. Her beeper goes off and she has to go back to work.
At the station, Audrey complains to Margo about being cooped up there. Margo points out that they have evidence she tried to kill Barbara. Margo demands to know where Ralph is but Audrey says no one will find him if he doesn't want to be found. When she's left alone, Audrey calls Maddie and tells her she's been accused of murder. "Spare me the melodrama," Maddie says. Audrey asks her to come over and bring Casey with her. When Maddie arrives, her mother tells her that Barbara was trying to kill her. She asks her to get Casey on her side to talk to Margo for her. Maddie rolls her eyes and refuses to say anything. "You're on your own," she says. She walks out and Casey asks her to come to the hospital with him. He turns to his mother and asks her to let him know if there is anything he can do.
Ralph stumbles into Metro to see Teri. He tells her that he got involved in something he doesn't have anything to do with. She wants to help. He asks her to let him clean up his own mess. Since she can't stop his bleeding, she suggests he go to the hospital. He refuses so she leaves to get antiseptic and bandages.
At the hospital, the doctor tells Margo and Henry that the baby should make it. Margo tells Henry he had better hope everything is okay. Jack comes in with Brad and the EMT. She leaves to search for Manzo. Ali and Dusty arrive. She's just heard about what happened and rushes off to see Katie while Henry explains everything to Dusty. He immediately walks down the hall and corners Teri. He tells her what happened but she insists her uncle is innocent and runs off.
Henry goes in to check on Katie. She asks after Brad and her son. He promises her they will have lots of time together. She passes out for a minute. Ali comes in and Katie wakes up again. They try reassuring her. "If I had any more strength I'd wring your neck," she tells Henry before falling asleep again.
Janet rushes to the hospital. The doctor comes out and informs her and Jack that Brad might not make it. Sitting down, Jack recounts what happened. She's shocked when he tells her that Ralph was behind this. "What if I killed my own brother?" he asks. She tells him God doesn't work that way and reminds him that he was drinking. He asks her not to say anything to Liberty until they know for sure.
Janet goes down to the chapel to pray for Brad, Katie, their son and Liberty's baby. "Please help us find a way out of this nightmare," she prays.
Jack goes in to see his brother. "When are you going to learn?" he says. His voice breaks up. He begs Brad to make it out of this okay. "I've gotten you out of a lot of jams in the past but I don't know how to get you out of this one," he weeps. Janet comes in and Margo calls. She asks him to come in and make his statement.
Ali brings the baby in to see Katie. She wants to see Brad. Henry leaves to check on him and runs into his sister. Ali brings the baby out and Casey asks after Katie. Down the hall, Maddie tries comforting her brother but he doesn't feel like he deserves it. They spot Katie as she climbs out of her bed and heads for the door. She demands to know what is going on. They help her back into bed. Maddie walks back into the hall and cries, hugging Casey.
Dusty follows Teri down the street and confronts her again. She continues defending her uncle but Dusty tells her that there needs to be justice, especially for the baby.
Teri returns to Metro and tells Ralph she knows about the warehouse. When she sadly suggests they go to the police, he advises her to stay out of this. "I'm going to stand by you... but I can't lie," she says. Ralph takes out his gun and orders her to put the phone down.
At the station, Margo continues questioning Audrey, who refuses to say anything unless they drop all charges against her. Margo says she doesn't have to make a deal with her so Audrey tries to guilt her into it. She admits that she doesn't know where Ralph is but offers to find him. If they release her, she will set him up. Margo agrees to give her the day. Audrey sashays out and Margo sends a cop to trail after her.
Jack arrives at the station and gives his statement to Margo. He doesn't tell her that he was drinking and she tells him none of this was his fault. After she leaves, Janet asks him if he should tell her that he was drinking. "No," he says.
Audrey goes to the hospital to see her son. She tells him the deal she made and threatens him into helping her. Audrey wants her half of the inheritance. "I just want you to leave and I never want you to come back," he says. She says she always does what's best for her children and asks for some traveling money.
Katie climbs out of bed and wanders across the hall to Brad's room. "Oh my God! What happened to you?" she gasps.
