Meg wants Dusty to give Paul another chance, Emily helps Dusty figure out what Paul is up to, and Vienna tries to convince Katie that Spencer is no good for her or Brad.
At WOAK, Kim, Brad, and Katie assure Spencer she is ready for the job. Vienna and Henry arrive and Katie informs them about Spencer and Brad's new show. They all agree to meet after work at Metro for drinks. After Brad and Spencer leave to work, Vienna asks why she isn't co-hosting and Katie explains she wants Brad to realize he can be successful on his own without her. Vienna thinks that Spencer will fall for Brad, but Katie thinks Spencer is more interested in her as a role model. Vienna says she does not trust young and eager women, but Katie informs them she trusts Brad. Kim calls Katie away to come and look at the feed for Spencer and Brad.
At Fairwinds, Dusty tells Meg he doesn't want Paul to see him there but Meg informs him that Paul is on a business trip trying to earn his own income. She tells him she is grateful she no longer has to lie and assures him not to worry about Paul, because his anger is gone. Dusty reminds her that he is still Paul Ryan. Meg tells him that Paul is not the person he was, but Dusty is skeptical. Emily calls him with a lead on Lucy and Johnny and he leaves.
At a cafe, Paul is meeting with an actress and her son. He gives her instructions for writing a travel book for moms, but says they must use the names Lucy and Johnny. She asks him if what she is doing is legal. Paul assures her that it is and tries to persuade her what a great opportunity this is for her to travel.
On location, Spencer and Brad interview a toy factory owner about safety. On air, Brad goes on to point out reports of legal action against his business and the interview turns negative. After the owner physically attacks them both, they leave. Both Spencer and Brad hug over the rush of adrenaline and Brad tells Spencer they make a great team.
Dusty arrives at the Intruder. Emily tells him about her contact finding an informant who did a deal booking a trip for Lucy and Johnny. Dusty does not think they would use their real names, but Emily shows him evidence. Dusty kisses her and tells them he is headed to New York and kisses her again before leaving.
Brad and Spencer arrive back at WOAK excited over their feed. Katie and Kim are just as happy with their work. Brad boasts how terrific Spencer was and Katie agrees. Kim hands them copies to watch and tells them they are done with work. Spencer looks glum as Katie and Brad kiss, but Katie invites her to come along with them to Metro.
At Metro, Vienna wonders what Spencer is doing there, but Katie says she invited her. Spencer boasts that Katie is a great inspiration and that she hopes to have everything Katie has one day. Spencer then says she is tired and wants to go home and will call a cab, but Katie offers for Brad to take her home. After Brad and Spencer leave, Vienna asks Katie if she is out of her mind. Katie insists Spencer is not a threat.
At the Intruder, Paul arrives to sign some papers from accounting. Emily informs him she is not his secretary. Paul wonders if everything has to be a spitting contest with her. Emily tells him he should thank Dusty for bailing him out. After Paul leaves, an airline calls asking for Paul because he left something on the flight. Emily immediately calls Dusty and lets him know Paul was in New York.
In New York, Dusty sees the actress Paul hired walking towards a taxi. As the cab driver opens the door and calls her, "Dr. Montgomery," Dusty walks over and grabs her by the shoulder.
At the Lakeview, Spencer enters her room and screams. Brad hears the police going to her room and rushes up with them. Spencer tells them a man was waiting in a room for her and pushed her against the wall. She tells them she didn't get a good look at him, but he was short, stocky and balding. Brad thinks it is the toy factory owner and the authorities leave to investigate. Spencer is worried he is going to come back. Brad offers to stay with her until security comes back and he assures her she is not alone.
At Spencer's Lakeview room, Katie arrives to check on Spencer. Brad informs her the authorities didn't find anyone in the hotel. Spencer exclaims she does not know why someone would attack her over a story. Katie tells her that sometimes things happen in the investigative reporting business and she has to be careful. Spencer wonders if she is cut out for the business. As Brad assures her she is a natural, Katie looks at him annoyed.
At Fairwinds, Paul embraces Meg and she tells him she is so glad he is okay. As they embrace, Dusty interrupts and tells Paul he is going to kill him. Dusty tells Meg her psycho husband hired a woman and child who were going to lead him on a chase around the world. Paul claims he wanted Dusty out of town. Meg is furious, but Paul says the money Dusty leant him was his to begin with and that Dusty was working with his father from the very beginning. Meg tries to persuade Paul that James is trying to split them up. Dusty warns Meg to get away from Paul. After Dusty leaves, Meg tells him she will give him the benefit of the doubt one last time, but if he does anything else she is gone for good.
At the Intruder, Emily calls Dusty and leaves him a message asking him not to go away again. Margo interrupts telling her it sounds like the message came straight from the heart and wonders if she picked it up on sale. Margo goes on to say she is there about Dusty, not Casey. Emily claims she has no idea how Dusty faked his death. Margo says she doesn't believe her, but Emily says she was in love with him and wanted to die when Dusty died. Margo still doesn't buy it, but Emily tells her to get out. Margo tells her if she finds out Emily was involved in Dusty's fake death, she will be back with handcuffs, which she should be used to and leaves.
At home, Brad tells Katie he is still worried about Spencer, but Katie tells him she is fine. She then wonders if Spencer made up the entire episode because she is the only one who saw him. Brad asks Katie why she is so suspicious. Katie wonders if they need something else to worry about, but Brad thinks Spencer will be fine once she gets a few shows under her belt. They embrace, but Katie looks worried.
In her room, Spencer watches the feed on her laptop. After watching Brad hug her, she smiles.

Emily asks Dusty if he wants her to be a go-between with his ex.
Katie tells Henry she thinks Spencer is trying to kill her.
