Susan hates that Emily and Alison are friends with Dusty, Dusty bails out Paul, Alison and Aaron end their relationship, Casey cries on Margo's shoulder and Paul finds out who paid his bills.
At the hospital, Emily sees Susan. She asks Emily if the surgery went well; Em says she is having a final check in and will report back to Susan after. Susan asks if Emily has seen Dusty. She admits she did and they are friends, which makes Susan uneasy.
From the hospital, Dusty calls Meg to tell her that Paul's debts have been paid. Meg is relieved. Dusty tells her to watch out because Paul is unstable but Meg won't listen. A while later, Allie arrives, thrilled to see him. He says she is the only one. She promises to pay back his 'inheritance' but Dusty tells her not to. She tells him about her marriage to Aaron and sleeping with Chris. "I could have used your advice," she says. Dusty says true love will conquer all and she has to figure out if she still loves Aaron. Dusty's doctor comes in to check his shoulder wound. Alison asks who shot him and he says it was Paul.
At the farm, Holden asks Aaron what he is going to do about Alison. Aaron says he loves Alison but he isn't sure she loves him. Holden tells him to go find out.
Paul goes to Worldwide to make peace with Lucinda. He swears he is going to pay the company back with interest. Lucinda says the debt has already been paid - by him! He says he didn't pay it; Lucinda suggests Barbara did. "Nobody comes to my rescue," Paul says and storms off.
Paul calls Meg after learning that Barbara didn't pay off his debts. She asks why it matters. Paul says someone is setting a trap for him and hangs up. Meg calls Dusty to warn him that Paul is looking into the pay off. Dusty says no one will trace it back to him or her.
Dusty walks out of his hospital room and bumps into Susan. She isn't happy to see him and tells him to stay away from Emily! Dusty says he didn't want to hurt Emily. Susan says if he doesn't back off she will come after him - and kill him! He walks away. Emily walks up and reports that she has a clean bill of health. Allison hurries by with Dusty's meds and tells them about his infection. This irks Susan who asks why they are letting Dusty pull them in; the girls say they are just friends with Dusty. Emily takes the prescription and leaves. Susan turns to Alison and asks what Dusty wants in return for paying for Allie's school. Alison says Dusty doesn't want anything. Aaron calls and asks if they can meet. Alison reluctantly agrees.
Margo arrives home to find Casey playing video games. They sit and talk. Casey still doesn't understand why Emily went through with the surgery. Margo says it was probably Emily's way of letting him down easy or letting him know that there was no future for them.
Alison and Aaron meet at Java. She says he has to stop forgiving her! She says she can't be the woman he needs her to be and that he deserves better. Alison tells Aaron to let her go! Aaron leaves. Casey arrives. He and Alison cry on one another's shoulders about their lost loves. Casey tells Alison he has the cure for their blues and walks with her back to his house. They play video games for the afternoon.
Lucinda comes to the farm to see Holden. She says Lily won't take her calls; Holden says she needs space. Lucinda tells Holden that he has to stick up for her because what she did saved Lily for him! Holden says this isn't his problem. Lucinda says Lily isn't angry at her - she is angry at Dusty and that is bad news for Holden. She leaves. Margo arrives a short time later and brings up Dusty. Holden won't tell her anything.
Paul finds Emily at The Lakeview and demands that she investigate where the money to pay off his debts came from. She says it sounds like an accounting problem and isn't worth her time. Paul threatens her job! Emily tells him to talk to Meg.
Paul goes to Fairwinds and asks Meg who paid off his debts. She dodges his question and he realizes it had to be Dusty. She admits it and tells him to tear her head off. He remains very calm, which surprises Meg. She gives Paul his medication and puts him to bed. When he is alone, James appears and taunts Paul some more about Meg. Paul grabs Meg's bag and finds Dusty's business card with the private investigator's information on it. He goes downstairs, says he has a business trip and has to go.
Margo finds Lucinda and questions her about Dusty. Lucinda clams up but Margo says she knows that Lucinda had to have been involved with Dusty's faked death.
