Noah returns to town, Holden finds out Dusty is alive, Jack asks Carly for another chance, Janet talks to Liberty about her non-existent love life, Mike leaves town, Lily goes off on Carly and a strange man contacts Dusty.
Luke is working on some foundation paperwork at the farm when Noah arrives! He tells Luke how great the trip was and how much he missed him. Brian calls and asks Luke to come to the office. Noah asks how things are between them; Luke says things are going well. He has to leave for a meeting. Noah kisses him.
Mike stops by Lily's and shocks her when he says he is leaving town - for Europe! He says there are some job opportunities for him there with Neal's company. Lily feels like this is her fault; Mike says he doesn't blame her but he is going to miss her - and the kids! He makes her promise to be happy with Holden. She tells him to be happy. She tells him he deserves the best in his new life. "You are an amazing woman," he says and kisses her. Lucinda and Brian walk up and interrupt them. Lily tells them about Mike's plans; Lucinda wishes him well. Mike leaves. Before Lucinda can start in, Lily tells her not to worry about Mike or Carly because she and Holden are on the same page.
Meg and Dusty are talking about Paul. They agree to keep him being alive a secret when Holden walks in and freaks out! He blames Dusty for his family falling apart; Dusty says he did what any other father would do. Meg interrupts and tells Holden to calm down. Dusty gets a call that the investigation into James' death has been called off. Holden tells Dusty to stay away from Lily and storms out. Dusty says his plans are to return to Asia and continue looking for Johnny. He tells Meg to be wary of Paul and take care of the baby. Meg assures him that Paul is very different than James. Dusty gives her the number of a private investigator who always knows how to reach him. She tells him to be careful and he kisses her cheek. Meg leaves. A man arrives from a local funeral home and asks what he is supposed to do with James' remains! Dusty says the man should ask someone else because 'Mr. Donovan' is dead; he says they should contact Paul. The man leaves. Dusty makes a call and books a flight!
Carly gets to Jack's hospital room and helps him get dressed. Jack caresses her arm and says he can't stop thinking about her. He says he still needs her! Carly says she only did what any other friend would do; Jack says she did a lot more than a friend would do. "How do you always find me when I'm so completely lost?" he asks. She says he is her truth north and he laughs. He says they should stop fighting their connection and try again! Carly stops him and reminds him of the past but he has already thought of that. Carly tearfully says there is too much in their past for them to try again.
Janet is working at the apartment when Liberty walks in. Janet admits that she misses Jack but says she can't push. Liberty doesn't understand until Janet explains that Jack and Carly have a deep connection that he can't let go of. Libs reminds Janet that 'deep connections' haven't stopped her before; Janet says she has grown up. To distract them both she suggests a mani-pedi party. A while later Carly calls to tell her about Jack. Janet grabs her things, tells Liberty they'll have a mani-pedi day some other time and leaves.
Carly goes to the docks to leave and runs into Holden. She tells him about Jack and James. Janet arrives and Carly sends her in the right direction to find Jack. "You are exactly what Jack needs right now," Carly says!
Carly, Meg and Holden return to Oakdale. Holden tells Meg to stay home but Meg insists on going to the hospital to see Paul, even though he is under a no visitors rule because of his breakdown. She leaves. Carly tells Holden about what happened with Jack on the island.
Lucinda, Luke, Brian and Lily are going over the final benefit preparations at Metro when Carly and Holden walk in. Lily goes straight to Carly and asks what she is doing there! Holden tells Lily this isn't what she thinks. Noah and Luke leave. Lily turns on Carly again but Holden won't let her get started. He tells her about James and the search for Meg and Jack's injury. Lily wonders why Carly isn't with Jack. Holden says they can fight outside. Lucinda introduces Carly and Brian. Lucinda pushes Carly's buttons and she goes behind the bar. Brian calls Lucinda on her actions. Lucinda says she is just worried about Lily. Brian says falling in love is a risky business. Lucinda talks about her years of experience in love. Brian says she may be wiser but she's certainly not older! Lucinda is charmed; Brian says that is the point!
Janet goes to Jack's hospital room and rattles on about things she brought for him. He doesn't respond. She packs up and wonders why she came at all! Jack stops her, apologizes and says he was just thrown when he woke up and she was there but Carly was gone.
Meg goes to the hospital, looks at Paul's chart and asks the doctor why Paul is so heavily medicated. The doctor says that after Babs' explanation about Paul's breakdown on the island, they thought it was best.
Holden takes Lily home; she apologizes for lashing out. Holden brings up Dusty. Lily says that Dusty didn't mean anything to her because she has always loved Holden. He thinks about Dusty being alive and says nothing can come between them.
