Liberty sets Parker straight, Carly calls a family meeting, Paul tells Barbara everything, Meg has more pregnancy issues and Leo comes after Liberty.
Paul and Meg arrive at The Lakeview to tell Barbara about the pregnancy. Paul promises to keep things secret and goes upstairs to get Babs. Meg goes into the lounge; Derek is there and says he has something for her! He gives her a baby bracelet and she asks him to stay for breakfast.

Upstairs, Paul tells Barbara everything and says he has to get Meg out of town before she or the baby are hurt by the loan shark. Babs can't believe he didn't come to her with his money problems. He says he didn't have a choice and begs Barbara to help him get Meg out of town. Babs says she'll do something more - get him out of the jam altogether. She calls her banker to close out her account and asks for cash. Paul says she doesn't have to do that; she says it is the least she can do. He promises to repay everything. They go downstairs and find Derek at Meg's table. Paul acts irrationally but Derek covers and says he was just chatting with Meg and there is nothing wrong. Meg makes introductions to Barbara and Derek leaves. Meg turns on Paul and tells him to stop being rude. Barbara interrupts before the argument can really get going and Meg tells her the happy news. Paul turns to see Derek watching from the door. Babs decides a baby shower is in order; Meg shows them the baby gift and Paul says she can't accept it. Meg gets upset and has a cramp. Paul calls the hospital as Barbara comforts Meg. They hurry away.

Liberty sees Parker in Old Town; they talk about school and then she says she laid down the law with Brad. Parker is impressed. Liberty sees Leo around the corner and asks Parker to leave with her. They run to the woods and Liberty says she was just trying to get away from Leo. Parker tries to kiss her but she turns away. She says she likes him but she isn't ready to have sex again. She says she went out with him to get back at Brad, upsetting Parker. She says their parents are just too intense and they need to back off. "I just want to be friends," she says. Parker is heartbroken and doesn't understand. Liberty tries to explain but he can't understand why she doesn't want to sleep with him when she says she likes him. They drop the subject and she invites him to come to the picnic with her. He turns her down; she leaves.

Carly calls a parents-only family meeting and tells Brad, Katie, Jack and Janet they need to back off Parker and Liberty. Jack and Janet are all for it but Brad and Katie won't listen. They try to leave but Carly blocks the door! Janet grabs Brad and says she knows how he feels but that he has to give Libs room to grow. She says she had to do the same thing when Libs decided to find him. Brad finally listens. "Leave me alone," he says sadly and leaves. Katie follows. Parker returns home, upset. Jack follows him upstairs and asks him to talk but Parker won't at first. He finally says Libs only wants to be friends. Jack says she may be right but that only makes Parker feel worse. He asks how he can change Liberty's mind; Jack says he can't. He tells Parker to give Liberty space and be a friend. Back downstairs, Janet compliments Carly's ability to get along with Jack. She asks what happened with them and Carly says she couldn't live up to Jack's expectations. Janet feels badly for her; Carly says Jack deserves better than what he got from her. Jack comes back downstairs and offers to help with Sage's back to school barbecue; Carly says she can handle things. On the porch, Janet gets quiet and Jack asks what is going on. She says she isn't sure she can meet his expectations! He says she is exactly what he wants and kisses her.

Liberty arrives home, tells Brad about the school picnic and is surprised when he says she can go. Katie says Brad is growing up; Liberty says it is about time. She gets dressed and leaves before Brad can change his mind. He watches her go and then tells Katie that was the hardest thing he's done. Katie says he was pressuring Liberty too much and putting too much pressure on their marriage, too! "I want my husband back!" she exclaims. Brad realizes he's neglected Katie as much as he has overprotected Liberty and apologizes. Katie says she doesn't want his apologizes - she wants to know what he's willing to do now! She catches him on the computer later and thinks he is checking up on Libs. He says he is buying her a gift and quietly says she is the most important thing in his life. Katie smiles at him and says she isn't going anywhere. "You are my center, my balance, my future," he says. She promises to remind him of that if he ever loses his place. They kiss.
At the hospital, Meg and Paul learn the baby is fine. The doctor says the cramps she is having are the result of her last miscarriage; she says that is putting this pregnancy in danger, too, and places Meg on bed rest with no travel. She wants to run more tests. Derek calls but Paul ignores the call. The doctor tells Paul to go so he doesn't stress out Meg. He agrees to go but tells her to call as soon as she hears anything. Meg asks him to call Emma and he leaves.

Paul goes to Barbara's hotel and says they can't take Meg from Oakdale because of the pregnancy. Barbara says everything will be fine because the bank manager will be there soon with the money to pay off Derek. The bank manager arrives and says there is a problem. He says she closed the account more than a week ago! Barbara says she didn't but he shows her a signed form; Barbara says she didn't sign anything. "Find out who did this!" she says. The bank manager says they will conduct an investigation and offers to give Babs a loan in the mean time. She angrily says she needs her money immediately. Paul asks the manager to leave. Barbara apologizes but Paul says none of this is her fault. He says this is about him!
Liberty gets to the picnic. Leo is there and won't leave her alone. He apologizes and gives her some brownies from Java. She accepts them and walks away. Soon after she has one, Liberty begins acting strangely. Parker arrives. Liberty begins to act even more strangely. She spots Leo, grabs Parker's hand and runs for the woods.
Paul returns to the hospital to find Emma with Meg. Emma offers to help take care of Meg since the doctor put her on bed rest. Paul accepts the offer and Emma leaves. "Did my mother just hug you?" Meg asks, laughing. She realizes Paul is upset and asks what is wrong. Paul insists he isn't upset about anything, he just wants to get her home safely. Meg doesn't believe him.

Janet and Jack arrive at the farm. Janet asks about Carly's old design business and Jack fills her in. She asks how he has gone from Carly to her; Jack says she is just as amazing as Carly, who has made a lot of mistakes. He says he likes her for her honesty because Carly lied all the time. Janet says she can't lie because she is bad at it; he kisses her and she realizes she is late for work. Jack convinces her to stay with him since he has the day off. They go upstairs but are interrupted by a call from Carly, who says she has Janet's sunglasses. She offers to drop them by Al's but Jack says she isn't working today. Janet distracts him with more kisses and he says he'll pick up the glasses later.
Paul gets Meg home. She tells him to stop worrying about her and the baby because they will be fine. Paul is reassured about the baby but still worries about Derek and the money. He goes downstairs and powers on his computer. He searches for Black Pearl but doesn't get any results. James' face appears! "Hello, son," he says.
