Susan plans Alison's engagement party, Aaron plans to humiliate Chris, Emily and Casey disagree about their future, Holden and Lily argue about the kids and Mike, Luke believes Brian is up to something and Brian invites Lucinda on a camping trip.
Alison and Aaron exit his exam room and run into Susan. She says the party plans are settled and tells Allie they have to leave. Alison wants to see her biology professor first and then a nurse brings flowers. She hurries off to her meeting, leaving Aaron and Susan with the flowers. Aaron says he didn't send them and grabs the card. He is upset to see the flowers are from Chris; Susan says it is her fault because she was bragging about Allie's improved grades. She says she'll take care of Chris and is called away. Aaron spots a friend of Alison's and asks for Chris's private cell number.
Casey arrives at Emily's office and invites her to lunch. She says she can't go because of Alison's engagement party and then says Casey isn't invited to the family-only event! He reminds her they are married and asks where he stands with her. Emily says the Snyder's won't accept him because they hate her. He storms out.
Chris is buying coffee at Java when Dani walks in and invites him to lunch. She won't take no for an answer until he says he has feelings for someone else. She puts two and two together and realizes he is still in love with Alison! Dani presses Chris for answers but before he can say much, Alison texts him. He tells Dani he can be her friend but that is all and leaves. Casey walks in and sits down with Dani, frustrated. They share their woes and Casey tells her that she has nothing to worry about where Alison is concerned because she is now engaged to Aaron. Dani checks her voice mail, finds that she is invited and asks Casey to be her date since Emily won't take him! They leave together.
Holden arrives at Lily's to take the kids. She says they already have plans for the night - with Mike! Holden says she can go with Mike but the kids are staying with him! They argue and Holden says Mike will hurt their kids! He says unless Mike is committed to forever, he will hurt the kids. Holden changes the subject and says he wants the girls for the engagement party. She says the girls can go but she'll drop them off. Holden leaves.
In Old town, Brian and Lucinda are making plans for the foundation. Luke refuses to forgive Brian's faux pas and needles him about it. Brian apologizes - again - but insists he was just trying to help Luke with the business people he gets involved with. Lucinda brings up dinner but Luke says he can't go because of Aaron and Alison's engagement party. Brian and Lucinda continue on to Al's and discuss the pros of hamburgers and the fun of a mushroom hunt. Brian asks her to come camping with him so they can watch the stars and mushroom hunt. She is charmed and accepts.
Luke and Noah return home to get ready for the party. They are nearly ready to go when Lucinda arrives and asks Luke to give Brian another chance. Luke refuses but Lucinda begs him. When she leaves, Noah tells Luke he is overreacting. Luke says it is time they investigated Brian on their own! Luke tries calling all of the numbers on Brian's resume and when no one answers decides he is hiding something. Noah says it is normal for business people to not answer the phone after business hours. Brian walks in and says if they want to know something, they should just ask! Luke asks what his game is; Brian says he doesn't play games and he believes in Luke's plans. Luke accuses him of going after Lucinda for her money. Brian says Lucinda is fascinating and invites Luke and Noah along on the camp out. Luke agrees and Brian walks out. Luke calls Aaron to apologize for missing the party. He turns to Noah and says Brian is shady; Noah says Brian sees very straightforward. Luke says that Brian wouldn't have told him to guard his gayness if he was really okay with homosexuality. They joke about mushroom hunting; Luke says the trip will show Brian's true colors.
Brian returns to Worldwide and bumps into Lucinda. They both decide to stay and work. Lucinda shows off her new camping gear, including a book on mushrooms. Brian says Luke and Noah are going to come along, too, disappointing Lucinda.
Emily arrives at The Lakeview for the party; Susan has everything put together. Emma arrives and chats with Emily; she gives Susan Paul and Meg's regrets because they can't attend. Aaron arrives, followed by Alison! He kisses her. Holden arrives and drinks with Emily. She sees Casey arrive with Dani and angrily tells Dani to back off. Dani tells Emily to lighten up. Aaron spots Lily delivering the kids and asks her to stay. She agrees reluctantly and calls Mike to cancel their plans. Holden sees Lily and tells her to go; she says she is staying because Aaron invited her. He admits that his anger is more about missing out on their family life than about her dating Mike. Lily storms off. Chris arrives. Susan tries to head him off but Aaron sees him and proposes a toast - to his future wife! Chris is shocked and Alison sadly watches him. Aaron toasts to their newfound love. After, Alison and Faith bond as future sisters but then she hurries after Chris. Chris says he got the message and she asks why he is there in the first place! He shows her the text message and brings up the flowers. She says she didn't send the message and she didn't know he sent the flowers. Chris blames Aaron but Alison defends him. She says Aaron is exactly what she needs. Chris sadly leaves. Alison returns to the party but won't talk to Aaron. He leads her out of the room and she asks why he sent that message. Aaron says that was the only way to get through to Chris. She says she doesn't need this kind of subterfuge and he needs to get over Chris. Aaron asks why she is so upset when she keeps saying she wants Chris out of her life! Allie says Aaron is being sneaky and underhanded and needs to stop because she doesn't like that side of him. Casey is singing Emily's praises to Emma and Susan when she walks up and tells him to stop. Casey sets her straight on how Emma really feels about Emily's newspaper, shocking her. Emma asks Susan what is going on with them after they leave but Susan doesn't know. Both agree that at least Aaron and Alison are on the right track. Lily, Holden and kids take their leave, interrupting Aaron and Alison's argument on the way out. They assure everyone that they are happy. In the hall, Casey and Emily make up and leave. Alison thanks Susan for the party; Emma tells Aaron not to leave things messy with Alison. Susan and Emma leave. Aaron turns to Alison and apologizes for hurting Chris that way. "It was low," he says. She agrees and then says the worst thing is that it was unnecessary because she loves him. She kisses him.
Dani follows Chris to Yo's and buys him a drink. She offers to take him some place for dinner, too, and brings up Alison. She tells him to give another woman - her! - a chance! She goes to get another drink. They shoot pool and Dani offers him another drink. Chris turns her down. She asks for a pool rematch but Chris says he still cares too much about Allie to get into another relationship. He leaves.
Holden follows Lily and the kids home. She gets the kids down and tells Holden the girls are ready for their video game. He goes upstairs, saying he misses putting the kids down for the night. She says he is always invited for bedtime rituals. He apologizes for not telling her about the engagement and they reminisce about Aaron's life. She says Aaron is proof that they are good parents even if they aren't good at being married. They shake hands.
