Paul hits several obstacles, Lily and Holden fight in front of the kids, Margo kicks Dani out of the office and Mike tells Lily she has to make a decision - about their relationship!
At the project site, Derek demands his money - right now!
Holden returns the kids to Lily's but she says she needs him to keep them a while longer because of a lunch date with Mike. Holden stubbornly refuses to baby sit while she goes on a date and they start arguing. The kids overhear and Natalie asks why Holden doesn't want to be with them. Faith, angry with both parents, tells them to get on with their lives and she'll watch the little kids! Holden and Lily realize how stupid they've been acting and backtrack. He agrees to stay with the kids; Lily says she has to make up with the kids first. After she leaves, Holden gets the grill going but the kids aren't hungry. Holden apologizes to Faith and offers to watch the movie as a family. Paul arrives to see Lily and when he learns she is at The Lakeview leaves before Holden can say anything more. Holden sits down with Faith and while they wait for the little kids, Faith says none of this would be happening if he hadn't slept with Carly. Holden says they are trying to fix things.
Emma walks into Fairwinds to find Meg busy redecorating. She tells her to take it easy but Meg has very specific plans on how to tell Paul the good news. She has a bout of morning sickness but tells Emma it wasn't that bad. Emma makes tea. Meg has second thoughts about telling Paul about the baby, just in case something is wrong with the baby because of the poison. Emma says she should tell Paul now because he deserves to know everything.
Margo finds Dani in her office at the police station going over reports. She orders Dani to leave and won't listen even after Dani shows Margo her new credentials.
Emily shows Casey her story, certain that this is exactly what she needs to get The Intruder off the gossip beat. They are celebrating over lunch when Dani walks in and angrily goes off on Casey because of Margo. He says he didn't tell Margo anything and Dani apologizes. She asks for his help and he offers to go to Tom. Emily decides to help, too, and offers to go with Dani to see her boss.
Casey goes home, shows Tom Dani's papers and tells him that Margo won't let her work. Tom tries to defend Margo but then decides he should talk to Margo himself. He leaves.
Tom goes to Margo's office. When he brings up Dani, she gets angry and says Emily is using Casey again. Tom says this has nothing to do with Emily and warns Margo that she can't keep Dani from her job, which isn't an important one in the first place. He leaves and Margo heaves a huge sigh.
Dani thanks Emily for sticking up for her since she came back to town. Casey returns and says Tom is going to talk to Margo! Emily tells Dani to get back to work and not let Margo frustrate her efforts. Margo walks in and angrily says they need to stop playing games with her! Margo refuses to admit that she had no authority to kick Dani out of the office and says Emily better stop messing around in her life. Emily says she didn't do anything; Casey and Dani try to reason with Margo but she won't listen. She hands Dani's papers back and says she is not welcome at the station house! Margo leaves. Emily calls the mayor on Dani's behalf!
Emily walks into the police station with the mayor and Dani in tow. The mayor pressures Margo to let Dani work in the station house, angering her.
Emily returns to the office and Casey asks how she became so closely acquainted with the mayor. He realizes the mayor must have been a "client".
Margo goes home, vents to Tom and wonders how Emily managed to get the mayor into her pocket.
Lily finally gets to The Lakeview, a few minutes late. She tells him about the fight with Holden. Mike asks if she really wants to have lunch with him or if she's just trying to make Holden jealous! She swears that she isn't using him but he thinks she is! Mike says he is getting too involved not to care that she still has feelings for Holden. She says her old feelings are just memories and she wants a fresh start with him. Paul interrupts them and asks for money! She asks Mike for his opinion but because he works for Paul and is interested in Lily, he won't say anything. Lily says she'll get back to Paul and he leaves. She asks Mike why he doesn't believe in the project! Mike says he does believe in the project but he doesn't want to influence Lily's decision. Lily decides to cancel lunch so she can get some answers. Mike tells her to decide on more than the farm project and leaves.
Lily goes home and asks for Holden's advice. He tells her that the farm project seems to be a lost cause and she shouldn't give any money to Paul - despite the fact that Emma could lose the farm! Holden gets her some water. They try not to think about the past and both decide they need to start acting like friends. The kids come in and they decide to have a family barbecue.
Paul meets Barbara at her suite and tells her his worries. He believes Lily will come through for him and changes the subject to Meg, telling Babs how happy he is. Lily calls and says she can't invest money in the project, disappointing him. Babs advises Paul to tell Meg everything and back out of the deal. He isn't sure how to tell Meg.
Paul arrives at Fairwinds and Meg corners him. Before he can say anything about the project, Meg barges ahead and leads him into the sitting room where she has baby cookies waiting. Paul is stunned and hugs her happily. Meg asks what his surprise was but he won't say.
