Paul makes a proposal to Emma - and Meg, Casey begs Tom to reconsider, Margo remains cold with Emily, Alison begins acting strangely and Chris asks Susan for help.
Meg and Paul wake in the hospital. She wants to go home but he says she has to stay for observation. She asks about Emma but Paul doesn't know where her mother is. He asks if he can get her anything and she says he can get Emma to like him.
Paul goes to the farm to try to make peace with Emma. She is having none of that and says he should have just left Meg alone. Paul turns to the door but Emma stops him. She says she knows Meg's happiness is tied up in Emma's approval of her marriage but she can't approve of it. Paul says he understands Emma's hesitance but swears he has changed. "Can you promise that you won't hurt her?" Emma pleads. Paul promises he will never intentionally hurt Meg. He asks if Emma will attend their vow renewal at the hospital.
Back at the hospital, Meg keeps pressing Paul to get her released. He says there is no chance the doctors will let her go. He says Emma is on the way to see her, which eases Meg's anxiety. He asks her to marry him again - this time with Emma at the ceremony. Just then Emma walks in and says she is ready for the wedding. Meg is thrilled. Barbara arrives, too. Meg says she'll marry him. Barbara has a dress and Emma offers her a lace head-wrap and the family bible. Barbara offers Meg the pendant she gave Gwen, which Gwen sent just that morning. The women shove Paul out of the room to help Meg prepare.
Kim and Chris are walking in Old Town and talking about his future. He still hasn't decided what he is going to do with his future. Kim goes on about what Chris should be doing; he realizes Bob set her off about Chris' laziness. He says he just needs a little time and space and then leaves.
Aaron sees Alison at Java. She is wearing Larry's bracelet and shows him her latest exam - which is a C. She angrily accuses him of patronizing her when he says she'll bring her grades up! Aaron says he was only trying to help. Alison goes off on a tangent, getting angrier and angrier over nothing. Aaron says she is acting like she is on drugs! He points out that her eyes are weird, she is over-reacting and fidgeting with her bracelet. This only makes her angrier. Chris arrives and eavesdrops as Alison keeps going off on Aaron. She tells him to go away and Aaron walks out. Chris watches her a little while longer and then sits at her table. She is shivering so he gives her his coat. She turns on him, too. Chris watches her closely and questions her. Allie just keeps getting angrier. Then, she flips a switch and flirts with him! Chris asks what is really going on with her. She denies feeling bad or out of sorts but Chris doesn't buy her explanations. He tells her to have Susan check her out but Allie refuses. Chris storms out. She fiddles with the bracelet and it falls off.
Chris finds Susan at the hospital and tells her about Allie's strange actions. Susan isn't sure whether to believe him and says Alison's strangeness is probably because of Chris' harassment. He asks her to do a physical; she tells him to get lost.
At the Hughes home, Tom tells Daniel that the court hearing is just to figure out some issues that he and Emily are having. Daniel is worried that Tom will take away Emily's custody! He says he is. Casey walks in. Daniel asks why he can't see Emily anymore. Casey tells Daniel about a new toy and Daniel hurries away. Tom angrily turns on him, saying he won't get away with turning Daniel against his family. Casey says he isn't doing that at all. He says Tom needs to stop trying to turn Daniel against Emily! Tom says Daniel will never know the whole story; Casey says he can't keep the truth from Daniel forever. He keeps defending Emily, saying she is a good mother. He realizes Tom is upset about his relationship with Emily, not about Emily's prostitution. Tom insists that this has nothing to do with Casey. "Maybe this is about the sons you couldn't save," Casey says. He says nothing Tom or Margo did ruined his life or Adam's and says Tom needs to let go of the past. He says forgiving Emily could be the first step; Tom says this isn't the same thing. He leaves for court.
Emily walks in to the police station as Margo is going over assignments with another officer. Emily follows Margo around, bugging her, and Margo says Daniel will have to testify. Emily asks how she can put Daniel through this. Margo says if Emily would just drop her objections to Tom's new custody arrangement Daniel won't be hurt at all. Em refuses to do that. Margo is very cold and says this is exactly what Emily deserves. Emily realizes that Margo isn't upset about Daniel, she is still ticked about Emily's relationship with Casey. Emily begs her to back off. "See you in court," Margo says and shows Em the door.
Paul returns to Meg's hospital room with Meg's childhood minister in tow! The wedding begins and Paul says his vows, promising to be with her forever. Meg begins by saying Paul is everything to her. As she talks, she sees Sofie's ghost and faints! Susan hurries in. Barbara says Meg put her hand to her chest before she passed out. Meg says she was just light-headed and feels fine now. Susan says she has a rapid heartbeat but that Meg is fine. Paul blames himself for the extra stress. He tries to call off the wedding but she refuses to let him. The wedding starts again and the minister pronounces them husband and wife. Paul kisses her. Babs and Emma congratulate them and leave. Paul kisses Meg again and as they make love, rests his hand on the necklace.
Alison goes to The Lakeview, finds Aaron and apologizes. She says she doesn't know what was going on with her and says since the bracelet broke, she has been a completely different person! He says she will be fine. She tells him about skipping breakfast; he says she needs to eat and take care of herself.
Casey arrives at the courthouse and sees Emily. He says he tried to stop everything but Tom won't back down. Emily is freaked out and tells him about Margo's suggestion. Casey tells her not to give up because Daniel needs her. He wants to stay with her but realizes that will only make things worse. He leaves. The hearing begins a while later and Casey walks in the door! He sits on Em's side of the room, annoying Tom and Margo. The judge asks for opening statements and Tom says Emily is a danger to Daniel! Tom stops in mid-sentence, surprising the judge. He changes his mind and says he has no evidence against Emily. She is startled and he says he is withdrawing the suit! The judge angrily asks why. Tom says he rushed to judgment and apologizes. Margo can't believe it. She turns on him. Tom says he had no choice and tells her about Casey. He says the best way to defeat Emily is to let her defeat herself. Margo still doesn't like it.
Emily and Casey go to The Lakeview and kiss. They leave to be alone. She thanks him for giving her back her son. Casey is surprised she is being so open; she says she is tired of hiding. Alison leaves the lounge and sees them. She sarcastically congratulates them and walks away. Casey and Emily wonder what that was about.
Chris stops by The Lakeview and the concierge gives him a package from the concierge. The note tells Chris to take his time and inside is a new watch. He calls Kim and leaves a message on her voicemail, thanking her for standing by him.
Tom and Margo arrive home, still arguing. He calls for Daniel as Margo rages on and on about Casey being with Emily. Tom says they'll lose Casey if they keep pushing Emily. Margo swears she is going to stop Emily - permanently!
