The Best Laid Plans...

Wednesday, May 14 2008
Holden learns the truth. Carly and Jack can't see eye to eye. Aaron tries to help Allie relax but puts her in a bad position. Chris maneuvers to help Allie. Luke asks Holden for romantic advice.

Holden and Lily wake up; he kisses her and says, "No more secrets." Lily meets him in the kitchen a while later, surprised to find him cooking. Over breakfast, Holden says he is glad last night was spontaneous and unplanned. They are kissing when Lucinda arrives. Holden leaves to pick up Ethan as Lucinda asks Lily if things are back where they should be. Lily tells her about the night before, thrilling Lucinda. She reminds Lily that everything needs to be kept open and honest or she'll ruin things.

Carly and Jack have just gotten the kids off to school when he turns on her, telling her that she had no right to help Lily manipulate Holden. Carly pushes his buttons, saying he isn't really upset about Holden. He storms into the kitchen but Carly follows. She says now he knows how she felt after the night they made love - when he told her it was over between them. Jack says one thing has nothing to do with the other and refuses to admit he has been sending her mixed messages. Holden arrives. Carly asks how his evening went. Holden picks up on the tension when Jack makes a few sarcastic comments about not having a choice in helping Carly. He goes to pack up the tent and Carly finally slips up, saying how great it is that he and Lily finally had some time alone. When Jack returns, Holden asks point blank if the night was a set-up and Jack confirms it. Holden leaves with Ethan. Carly calls Lily to warn her, then turns to Jack and tells him to keep quiet. "I told you so," he says when she leaves the room.

Holden returns to the farm and asks Lucinda to watch Ethan for a bit. He then turns to Lily and asks how she could do that. She tries to explain that she just wanted to get things back on track but he won't listen. Holden walks out and Lucinda follows, trying to make him understand Lily's actions. Lily tells Lucinda to butt out and let them talk alone. Holden refuses to talk to her. After he is gone, Lucinda tells Lily that she is going to have to try extra hard to win his trust this time. Lily feels completely defeated.

Carly runs into Holden at Java later on. She tries to make him understand where Lily was coming from but Holden refuses to listen. He reminds Carly that her machinations never worked on Jack, either, and walks out. Holden runs into Luke. Still upset about Noah and Ameera, Luke tells Holden about the Colonel. Holden advises Luke to tell Noah exactly how he feels about their relationship, about Ameera and about the Colonel. Holden returns to the farm. Lily is waiting but Holden still won't listen.

Carly goes to the police station to apologize to Jack, who is very standoffish with her. She says she knows she was wrong to help Lily. He apologizes for being so hard-headed with her. She says she is used to it and leaves.

At Java, Alison is practically sleeping over her books when Chris calls to ask if she needs a little help. She assures him she is fine. Chris hangs up as Susan asks about Allie! Chris says he is just helping Alison study. He is going over a chart when Susan finds him a while later. She asks how Allie is really doing and admits she is really worried because the professor is a real task-master. Chris says Allie is doing well. As they talk, a nurse listens in. Susan asks about the gossip going around but Chris says there is nothing to the rumors and that he and Allie are just friends. A while later, Chris runs into Allie's instructor, who mentions that Alison is late for the exam. Chris tries calling her but doesn't get an answer.

Back at Java, Alison continues quizzing herself but can't remember anything. She lays down her head and is sound asleep when Aaron arrives. Alison freaks out on him, saying she has no business in nursing school and she is going to flunk her test. Aaron convinces her to come with him to let off some steam. They ride his motorcycle into the country; he takes her to an empty field. Alison finally starts to relax as she enjoys nature. Aaron turns off her cell phone and then starts reading from the text book; Alison falls asleep and so does he. She finally wakes up and realizes she has missed her test. Aaron hurries to get her to the hospital but Brenda, the instructor, won't hear of Allie getting a second chance. Upset, Aaron and Allie walk out. Chris overhears everything and goes to Brenda. He pressures her to give Allie another chance, saying the hospital owes it to the Stewart family! The same nurse who eavesdropped on Susan, listens in. Brenda gives in. When Chris leaves, the nurse tells Brenda that doctors always get their way. Susan hears them talking. A while later Susan approaches Brenda and asks why Allie is getting a second chance. Brenda says Chris is the reason an exception was made.

In Old Town, Aaron says she is better off now; Allie can't believe him. They are at the diner when Chris arrives. Aaron tells him to back off because Chris doesn't know anything about what Alison needs. Allie can't take it and tells them both to back off. She asks Aaron for a rain-check on lunch because she needs to get back for her shift at the hospital. Chris interrupts, again, telling them that Allie will be just fine. As they walk out, Chris tells her about the make-up exam. Allie is thrilled and hugs him as Aaron watches.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am so tired of seeing the women of oakdale groveling to the self righteous snyder men. Give me a break!!! Since when is it a crime to plan a romantic evening with your husband. Carly and Lily both could do so much better

I could not agree more! Lilly and Carly could do better, The Synder men are so self righteous! IT really gets so OLD with Jack and Holden! Bring some new hunks into the picture

dafyduc - I'm with you. Carly, stop apologizing to Jack. He is a A#1 JERK. You didn't nothing wrong and neither did Lily.

Couples have problems. They work through them and move on if they can't. Holden obviously wanted sex with Lily or was it just sex and not love.

Jack just wants Carly to beg him. These writers need to stop having the women of Oakdale panting over these men who are enjoying every minute in the lime light.

I for one am totally sick of watching this crap.

Okay? I may be not thinking here, but I am not sure what Lily and Carly did wrong. So, she planned some "grownup" time, what is the big deal. It is not manipulation. The writer's need to stop putting all the men up on a pedestal. Why do all the women get a bum rap and all the men seem perfect?

Right on!! I can't figure out what Lily did wrong. Why shouldn't she plan a romantic evening for she and her husband?

I love Emily and Casey together! Casey is such a hunk! I couldn't resist him! It really makes the show exciting! I also like Liberty and Juicy Janet a lot. It seems that Janet is gonna cause problems between Brad and Katie. I also love Meg! I hope she and Paul get back together, but I wouldn't mind her with Mike only I would prefer the previous actor back. I like the new Lily. She's a great actress and very pretty.

Lily and Carly both need to stand fast! This is who I am, this is what I am about, and You can take me as I am or ship out!

I agree with all of you about the Snyder men. What a step back for all independent, self-assured women. I hate that they had to ruin Carly's Metro venture with the Sam thing. I enjoyed seeing her being independent and moving forward with her own thing.

BTW, Holden was so not set up! Women make alternate arrangements for their children all the time so that they can have romantic evenings with their husbands. Okay, intimacy does not fix everything, but you have to start somewhere. Janet is loud and abrasive, and she raises Liberty like a gypsy. Glad Katie has some competition. Brad, although a little clueless sometimes, is a sweetie, and he really worked for her affections. She treated him coldly and belittled all his efforts. Maybe she'll appreciate him now.
