Janet vs. Katie?Friday, May 09 2008 |
Katie's jealous of Janet. Liberty wonders why her mom is really in town. Margo and Casey argue. Carly advises Holden to give Lily a chance. Jack apologizes for overreacting to Holden's new friendship with Carly.

At work, Emily teases Casey and then demands coffee; when he jumps to follow her orders, she giggles a little. Casey returns with coffee and a bottle of champagne. She says the wine is for him and shows him the front page of the paper - complete with his story and picture on it. Em says they are selling more papers and advertisers are calling. She opens the bottle and offers a toast. Margo walks in and asks to see Casey alone; he refuses to go with her so she talks to him with Emily there. Margo apologizes for not believing in him and says it will never happen again. Casey refuses to forgive her - and even says he is moving out! Margo leaves. Em asks Casey why he is being so hard on his mom. Casey says he is tired of Margo's unforgiving attitude. Annoyed, Emily says Margo is never going to respect her and Casey shouldn't defend her to his mom. She reminds Casey of how she nearly ruined Margo's marriage and says he is being immature. She slams out of the office. Casey goes home, surprising Margo. He apologizes to her and asks her to forgive him. She hugs him and then asks if he really has to move out immediately. He admits it will take him a while to save enough money for his own place. She kisses him. Casey returns to work and tells Emily about his apology. She offers a toast to higher profits. Casey steps closer to her and tells her to stop comparing him to Daniel, the way she did earlier. "I'm not a kid," he says, stepping very close to her.
In the kitchen, Lily listens as Holden tells Faith that Lily took his breath away. Holden turns and sees her there. Natalie walks in, wanting to stay home from school. Holden won't hear of it and sends the girls to get their books. Alone, Lily wonders if the girls can ever understand why she needed to leave. She asks if they can spend the day together but Holden says he has work and errands. Lily says she'll be home when he gets back.
At The Lakeview, Brad and Katie are making love when she remembers Liberty. Brad reminds Katie that Liberty is in another room. That makes Katie remember Janet and she pushes him away. She doesn’t like Brad's nickname - Juicy Janet - and tells him not to use it. Janet knocks on the door with breakfast in hand. She barges right in, ready to talk about Liberty. Brad says they'll talk downstairs in a few minutes. Janet leaves. Brad apologizes to Katie; she asks if she should go with him. He says he should deal with her alone for now. Katie eats a doughnut. Liberty arrives. She asks Katie if they called Janet so they could get rid of her. Katie assures her that they don't want her to leave. Liberty tells Katie about Janet's flakiness, wondering what she really wants. Katie tells her about Janet's visit this morning. "Well, that didn't take long," she says. Liberty says Janet is very pushy and Katie shouldn't leave her alone with Brad for long.

In the dining room, Janet advises Brad to pick his battles where Liberty is concerned - and skipping school isn't a battle to fight. She rambles on about her family as Brad tries to keep the conversation focused on Liberty. They chat about family and Janet begins to cry, throwing Brad off-balance. He says he would have been there for her if he'd known about Liberty. She blames him for not knowing Liberty existed! She says he should have called and he says he tried. Janet is surprised; she says her parents shipped her off to an aunt and never told her. As they talk, she admits that she never got over him! Katie walks in and sees them holding hands. She and Liberty sit down to join them for breakfast. Katie asks Janet why she came to Oakdale. She says she just wanted to help Lib find her father. "That's not how it happened," Liberty says. Janet talks over Liberty but Brad and Katie keep questioning her. Liberty tells them about seeing the wedding on television and how flustered Janet became. To cover this, Janet asks about Katie's exes attending the wedding. Brad and Katie leave for work. Janet says she'll take Liberty to school and will stop by WOAK later. When they are alone, Katie gives Brad a dirty look and walks away from him. Janet takes Liberty upstairs to pick out the right dress for seeing Brad. Lib asks about school; Janet tells her not to worry, that she'll write a sick note tomorrow. Janet finally finds the perfect dress but Liberty thinks the dress is a little too much. Janet wears it anyway.

At WOAK, Katie picks a few fights with Brad and tells the stagehand she isn't interested in being in love with Brad on TV that day. Brad asks what he did. She can't believe he doesn't get it. "She never even tried to tell you before," she says, certain that Janet is trying to worm her way back into Brad's life. Brad thinks she is jealous but Katie insists she isn't. Brad assures Katie that he doesn't care what Janet wants, except where Liberty is concerned. Katie is still worried.
Jack arrives at Carly's to find the house in a rush. She calls for Parker and tells Jack Sage and JJ are already gone. Jake fills her in on Parker and Liberty skipping school. She doesn't like it but Jack says Parker was honest about everything. Parker comes to the kitchen with an upset stomach. Carly thinks he may have eaten too much junk at Tyson's. Parker thinks back to his evening with Liberty and lies about having the flu. Jack takes his temperature but it's normal. Parker says he'll be fine at school. Jack asks Carly to come to school with them so they can talk more about Liberty. Before they can leave, Lily calls. Carly puts Jack's plans off. She returns to the kitchen and Jack wonders who called her. Jack takes Parker to school; he sees Holden dropping off the girls and apologizes for his actions at Metro. Holden understands.
Back at Carly's, Lily asks Carly why Holden doesn't want to sleep with her anymore. Carly isn't sure how to answer. Lily begs Carly to talk to Holden for her. Carly isn't sure it will work but agrees to help. Lily is relieved. A while later, Carly bumps into Holden in Old Town. They chat about the opening and then Carly asks about Lily's return. He changes the subject but Carly won't let it drop. She asks what is going on. He says he doesn't know how to start over again. "I'm tired of making the same mistakes," he says, worried that Lily hasn't changed. Carly tells him to be patient and reminds him that Lily loves him. Holden says Jack should have given her another chance; Carly tells him not to blow his own second chance. She returns to the house and tells Lily that Holden needs a little more time. She brings up Dusty and Lily says Dusty is in her past. Carly advises her to give Holden a little more time to adjust to the relationship with Dusty. Lily disagrees and says the only way to make things right with Holden is to get him into bed. She asks Carly to help her.
Holden returns to the farm and finds Jack there. He brings up Lily, wondering when they will return to their house. Holden says there is no rush.
