Margo and Emily argue; Emily offers Casey a job. Chris advises Alison to talk to Emily about her problems. Carly makes a huge decision about Jack. Jack asks Margo for advice. Lucinda helps Lily decide what to do about Holden.
Margo returns home. Casey is pouring coffee and tells her about being fired. Margo, surprisingly, isn't upset and tells Casey that this is a great opportunity for him to return to school. Emily arrives. She asks about Tom and is angry when Margo says Tom had an early meeting. She gives Margo the information about Daniel's summer camp but Margo won't take it. She tells Emily to leave a note for Tom herself. Margo leaves. Casey explains why Margo is mad. Emily says he should have found a new job before telling Margo about being fired. Casey looks at the camp brochures while Emily writes her note. As she leaves, she asks Casey if he wants a job and tells him to meet her at her office later! Casey goes to Emily's office and she starts giving him instructions about what his assistant job will entail. Casey catches on fast because while he was in prison he worked in the warden's office.
Alison is going over some papers at the hospital when Chris finds her. She puts everything away but he asks what she was doing anyway. She says it's a letter from nursing school and he immediately thinks she was turned down. Allie interrupts, saying she got in but tuition could be a problem. She needs written approval from Susan or Emily to get the money from Dusty's trust but Susan is unavailable on a medical aide trip and she isn't speaking to Emily. Chris grabs her hand and tells her to talk to Emily anyway. Ally and Chris arrive at Em's office and are surprised to find Casey there. He goes into Emily's office and she first says she'll see Alison but when he says Chris is there, too, she refuses to see either of them! Casey shows her Ally's letter. Emily is happy for her sister but still refuses to see Alison and Chris together. Casey tells Alison she can go in alone. Chris gets angry and bursts into Emily's office, asking what she is trying to do. They begin arguing about everything except their former relationship until Emily calls Casey and asks him to throw Chris out! He complies and when they are in the outer office tells Chris that the plan is to get Alison and Emily talking - not to get him and Emily talking. Chris changes his tune very fast and urges Allie to go inside. She does. Emily signs off on the tuition request, and tells Alison how proud she is. Alison is stunned. She leaves. Emily calls Casey into the office and thanks him. "This office has too much drama," Casey says. He is ready to quit but Emily asks him to stay on the job. She returns to work. Casey hears her yelling at the computer and goes in to help. He solves her computer problem and decides to keep the job.
Alison meets Chris at The Lakeview and tells him that Emily signed off on her tuition.
At the farm, Lily is chattering on about Carly and Jack to Holden. She joins him at the table and sees the tape and the scarf from Dusty's things. She tries to explain that he made her feel as if she couldn't keep anything but Holden doesn't want to hear that. All he can think about is that Lily lied to him again. She asks what he wants from her. "You want a divorce?" she whispers. Holden says no and leaves. A while later Lucinda arrives. She and Lily talk and Lucinda suggests that she go see Iva for a while, to get some perspective. Lily thinks that could work. Holden returns and Lucinda tells him about the plan, saying that it was her idea but that it is what is best for Lily. She leaves. Holden goes inside and says the idea stinks for him but that it will be a good thing for her. Lily still feels guilty. "Come back to us," he says as she leaves. Holden sits at the table and reads her note, which says only "Love you". He begins to cry.
Carly is standing near her front door with coffee, waiting for Jack to wake up. When he finally wakes she tells him to get out! Jack thinks she is bluffing but Carly remains strong. She tells him that the longer he stays the weaker she will appear to their kids. Jack says he is staying for the kids. Carly talks over him, saying that he can't stay in her home any longer. "I'm through changing my life to accommodate you," she says and suggests that they tell the kids after school. She asks him to pack his things immediately. Jack packs his things and calls out to Carly but she won't answer. He finds her in the kitchen, washing dishes. She tells him to call before he comes back to tell the kids. He leaves. Carly finishes up in the kitchen, drops a plate and begins to cry. She goes to the farm to find Lily; Holden tells her about Lily's plan to visit Iva. At the table, She tells him about Jack and he tells her about Lily. Holden holds her hand as she asks if he'll stick with her for a while.
Katie wakes Brad wearing a sexy negligee. They begin to make love but then Brad realizes they are out of condoms and says they can't do it! Katie thinks he doesn't want to have kids with her but Brad explains that he doesn't want to go too fast. Katie thinks that is sweet at first but the more she thinks about it the more she doesn't like the idea. She locks herself in the bathroom. She sneaks out and is at the police station talking to Margo about Brad's apparent change of heart and the mistake she made in marrying him when Brad walks in. He demands that she come home with him. They argue until Brad grabs her, throws her over his shoulder and carries her out. Jack walks in and asks Margo if she's going to allow that. "I think my sister's in good hands," she says. Brad keeps walking, ignoring a yelling Katie until they're back in the hotel room. He says she isn't allowed to shut him out in favor of talking to Margo or Jack! He begs her to tell him what is bothering her. Katie says she wants the whole package immediately - marriage, house and babies - and then tells him about what went wrong with her other marriages. Brad sits down, saying he wants the same things but they can't have that if they jump in all at once. Katie is touched that he cares about her that much. They make love.
At the police station, Jack asks Margo for a little time off, explaining that he has to move out of Carly's and they need to tell the kids. She asks what his plans are but Jack hasn't made any. He wonders how to make a life on his own when he's been so focused on Carly for so many years.
Lily and Lucinda are driving in the limo. Lily thanks her for coming along; Lucinda says she is just making sure Lily won't change her mind. She encourages Lily, telling her that this time a break from Oakdale will work for her and for Holden.
