Sage returns home. Sofie wants to meet the adoptive parents; Gwen wants to meet the birth mom. Rosanna changes the DNA test results. Meg can't believe the results.
Jack calls Dallas to get the cops in on the search for Sage. Carly turns on him, telling Jack this never would have happened if he hadn't tried to break up their family! Jack can't believe what Carly is saying. Dallas calls and tells him there has been an accident! Stressed out, Jack starts to leave; Carly insists on going with him. When they get to the P.D., Dallas tells them it was a false alarm. They return home. Seeing how upset Carly is, Jack holds her, telling her everything will be alright. From behind a plant, Sage watches them. Realizing how upset Carly is, she pops out from her hiding place and says she is fine. She says she was just trying to get them back together! Jack sits Sage down and tells her they will never be a family again but they can still love one another. Carly tries another tack but Sage insists that being a family is all she or JJ wants. Carly tells her that lying and scheming to get what she wants is a bad thing to do; she goes on to tell Sage that all the lying and scheming she has done has never helped her get what she wants. Safe goes upstairs to pack. Jack and Sage leave for the farm. Alone in the house, Carly comes across the payoff check in a desk drawer.
Jack and Sage arrive at the farm. Sage asks if he still loves her and he says of course. She apologizes for running off. He explains that he was just worried but he still loves her. Sage wonders if that means Jack can still love Carly, too. "Sometimes things don't work out the way we'd like them too," Jack says.
At the cottage, Gwen asks Will about a movie and then stops short. He's working on a baby crib and she asks him to stop! Will wants to finish things up so they are ready but Gwen feels it is bad luck. She reminds him that she didn't want to give up her baby once she signed the papers, afraid that the mother they are working with will do the same thing. She also wants to meet the mother so they can determine if she is caring for herself. Barbara stops by and Gwen tells her what they want. Barbara tries to convince Gwen it's a bad idea but Gwen won't be swayed. Iris calls Barbara and tells her they have big problems. To get away from Will and Gwen, Barbara says she has a situation at work and then offers to ask the lawyer about meeting the birth mother. She leaves. A while later, the lawyer calls! He tells them that the birth mom wants a closed adoption! Will hangs up and tells Gwen maybe they should wait until they find a birth mother who wants an open adoption. Gwen tells him that they should go ahead with the closed adoption.
Sofie goes up to Aaron at The Lakeview lounge and asks him to help her find adoptive parents for her baby. She wants to find out more about the couple the lawyer brought up and wants to use Aaron's computer to find out more! He agrees. Sofie starts her search but doesn't find anything at all. Cole comes in, curious about what they are doing. Cole tries to tell Sofie she is making a mountain out of nothing when she says she can't find anything out. She still wants to know more. Aaron pops back up with a new people finder website. Sofie asks Cole to check it out while she goes to the ladies room. When she is gone, Cole tells Aaron he needs to back off. He tells Aaron that they are doing the only thing they can. Sofie returns and asks how the search is going. Cole tells her to drop the search and he'll go see the lawyer about meeting the adoptive parents.
Cole calls Iris to meet him at the diner. They call Barbara and when she arrives comes up with a new scenario: her lawyer will tell Will and Gwen they birth mom wants a closed adoption; Cole's lawyer will convince Sofie that the adoptive parents want a closed adoption. Cole hesitates. Barbara tells him to make it happen - or they'll have to pay her back with interest!
Cole returns to The Lakeview and tells Sofie that the adoptive parents have a fake name so they wouldn't be harassed after the adoption was over. He says they want a closed adoption. Sofie says she won't do it! She says she wants to have some contact with the baby so she will know she is loved. She starts to cry and Aaron goes after some tissues. Cole tells her maybe they should rethink the adoption; Sofie says she can go through with it as long as Cole is beside her. She runs to the restroom and Cole tells Aaron he hopes Sofie can let the situation proceed. Aaron says maybe they should keep the baby, upsetting Cole! He tells Aaron to back off!
In the hall, Gwen and Sofie run into one another. Gwen apologizes for her treatment of Cole. Sofie doesn't want to listen to her, especially when Gwen suggests Cole might make a great dad.
Meg and Eli are talking about the test results outside Rosanna's room. He says they are ready and they start to head upstairs. Another doctor comes up and tells Eli that he's needed elsewhere. He leaves. Outside the door, Paul walks up to Meg, who is excited to see him. Paul takes Meg into another room and tells her about Rosanna, saying he is here for her not for Meg's paternity test. He asks Meg to keep her distance so he can care for Ro and walks out! She follows him and mentions the baby. Paul says he doesn't care and goes back to Rosanna's room.
In her room, Rosanna hears the voices and says she won't let Meg take Paul away! She gets up and begins to walk. She falls after a few steps! She gets back up and makes her way to the door. She sees him and gets back in to bed, pretending to still be in the coma. Paul begins talking about all the people who love Rosanna and want her to wake up to be in their lives. He pulls out their wedding pictures and begins talking to her about the wedding. He apologizes for not being there for her 100% and begs her to come back to him. She opens her eyes. Paul raises his head but doesn't see her eyes are open and keeps talking to her. The doctor comes in and tells Paul they need to talk. They go outside. Rosanna makes it to the door and walks out of the room!
In the hospital corridor, Craig runs into a nurse who tells him Meg is upstairs. Concerned, Craig goes in search of Meg. He circles around a while and then runs in to Meg, who has been crying, in the stairwell! Craig asks what is wrong; Meg insists the baby is fine. If that is so, he wonders why she is still there. Meg hems and haws but Craig keeps demanding. Finally she tells him she ran in to Paul. Meg tells Craig about Rosanna being in a coma again; Craig wonders if they should offer their help but Meg tells him they need to keep their distance. Below them in the stairwell, Rosanna listens. When they start back downstairs, she hurries ahead of them so they won't see her. She hides at the bottom and Craig and Meg return to the hallways. There they run into Eli, who almost slips about the test results. Meg interrupts, introduces Craig and starts talking about the hospital softball team. Craig insists on knowing more and looking at some old pictures. Before Meg and Eli can come up with anything, a nurse walks up and tells Craig that Bob has returned and he may be able to talk about the research position now. Craig pretends to leave but when Meg and Eli start down the hall he follows them!
Back in the stairwell, Rosanna sits down to rest. A nurse comes up, sees her and tries to get her to talk. Rosanna doesn't react and the nurse leaves to get some help. Rosanna quickly leaves. When the nurse comes back, she doesn't find anything.
Rosanna, meanwhile, has made it into one of the offices and opens an email file. She sees an email about the DNA tests and learns that Craig is not the biological father but Paul is! She can't believe it. Rosanna returns to her room as Paul comes back. He sees her getting back into bed! He hurries to her side, thankful she is waking up. Paul asks if he should call Carly. Rosanna doesn't answer at first but then comes around. He asks how she is and she says everything will be fine now. He asks how long she has been awake and Rosanna slips back into the coma!
When Meg and Craig arrive at Eli's office, Craig listens to them talk. The test results now show that Craig is the father - and Paul is not! Meg is shocked. Eli tells Meg this isn't the end of the world. She runs out of the office. He follows, says he'll always be there for her and hugs her. Craig watches them.
