ATWT's Colleen Zenk Pinter to Receive Public Service Award!

Wednesday, May 27 2009

Colleen Zenk Pinter (CBS)
Congratulations to As The World Turns' Colleen Zenk Pinter (Barbara Ryan) who will receive a public service award from New York University this week!

Colleen will be awarded the Strusser Memorial Award for Public Service at the New York University School of Dentistry for her work promoting Oral Cancer Awareness! As most fans know, Colleen has been fighting her own battle against Oral Cancer for nearly two years now. She was cancer free for much of 2008, but did have a short relapse which took her away from Oakdale for several weeks.

Colleen had several treatments and has been given a clean bill of health, and now she is back to work as Barbara Ryan! In the past two weeks, Barbara has been stuck in the middle between Paul and Meg as they fight for Eliza. Now that Rosanna is in the mix, things will certainly keep hopping for the Oakdale matron!

Soaps.com congratulates Colleen on the award!

Congratulations to a most deserving winner. As Barbara Ryan she has always been an amazing actress - but to share a personal struggle to get a message out to viewers makes Colleen Zenk Pinter a heroine. I hope she will get a new storyline soon with some romance. She is beautiful and I for one would enjoy a storyline spotlighting a mature woman enjoying romance and adventure.

So glad that Colleen has received a clean bill of health. She is an amazing actress and has done a wonderful job with making people aware of oral cancer. She most definatly deserves this award. Congrats!!!
