This past week, As The World Turns veteran actress Helen Wagner (Nancy Hughes McClosky) lost her husband of almost fifty-five years, Robert Willey, at the age of eighty-eight.

Aside from being a theatrical actor, Robert had small roles in the 1940’s films “Journey Into Fear,” “South of Pago Pago,” and “The Mortal Storm” under his stage name, Bill Roberts. He also appeared alongside his wife in a January 2002 episode of As The World Turns as Andrew Emerson.

Soaps.com wants to send Helen, her family and friends our deepest condolences.

In this day and age it's hard to stay married for 10 mins. let alone over fifty years. My condolences go out to Ms. Wagner and the rest of her family. In the loss of a helpmate, partner, father and friend. Thanks for setting a good example both onscreen and off.
