As The World Turns Recasts Jade! Wednesday, November 12 2008

A familiar name is headed back to Oakdale; Soaps.com has learned that As The World Turns has recast the role of Jade.

Davida Williams will take on the role. Davida is probably best known for her role as Claire on "Lizzie McGuire". She has also appeared in series such as "Degrassi: The Next Generation", "The Tracy Morgan Show" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". This is Davida's first role on a soap opera.

Fans had a love/hate affair going with the character in the past. Jade was Luke's confidante but made an enemy of Gwen and Will. She made up, however, by saving Gwen from Cleo. Jade left Oakdale in 2007.

Jade was last played by Elena Goode. Since leaving ATWT in 2007, Elena has appeared in several commercials and has completed the file "Circledrawers"; that film is set for release next year.

Davida's first airdate as Jade is set for December 12, 2008, just in time for Jade to heat up the Oakdale holidays! Welcome, Davida!
