Born and raised in Wiggins, Mississippi, Anthony wanted to give back to his home state.
The DVD project is a poetry/theater project which gives actors another outlet. Actors perform their favorite poems. A glossary of terms is included and a biography of the poet. The DVD is part of Anthony's on-going Poetry Theatre project; you can learn more about that here.
The poetry project is very close to Anthony's heart. He was first exposed to poetry as a student at Ole Miss. He graduated from the university with a degree in Zoology and English Literature.
"I think it's important for kids to learn new things, to learn how to think, to be exposed to new ideas and to be exposed to the arts," he said.
Poetry Theatre DVD will feature both professional actors as well as Mississippi students reading their favorite poems.
Although best known for his work on As The World Turns, Anthony has performed in many plays; several of them in Mississippi. He is also a cancer survivor and in 2005 wrote the book "The Cancer War".
