Soap stars are known for being very charitable, warm people. That was never truer than with Colleen Zenk Pinter, Barbara, from As The World Turns. A few weeks ago, Colleen was the guest speaker at a hospital dinner hosted by Yale-New Haven Hospital.

This is the same hospital where Colleen was treated for oral cancer last year.

Colleen was treated for oral cancel at YNHH hospital; her doctor, pictured here, also spoke at the gathering.

During her speech, Colleen talked about her personal experience and the great care she received while under the hospital's treatment. The dinner was held to celebrate a new construction project for the hospital.

Since her announcement several weeks ago that she had been fighting oral cancer, and the ensuing storyline on the show, Soaps.com has received several questions and comments from fans wondering how she is doing now.

GaGal wrote, "I know that Barbara had oral cancer, but she is now in remission? I pray that is the case."

We are happy to report that Colleen is now an oral cancer survivor and is doing quite well. Recently, Soaps.com had the chance to catch up with Colleen. You can read that interview here.

It is always nice to hear how our favorite stars give back to their communities. Soaps.com salutes Colleen Zenk Pinter and we wish you the very best!!
