The family arrives at the pageant. Sage pretends she isn't freaked out. She and her brother go off while Carly and Jack check in. They run into a mother daughter team, Bridget and Hayden, who quickly annoy Carly. She decides that she is going to make Sage practice until she is prefect so they can show the other woman up. Sage gets changed and Bridget and Hayden come over. The mothers begin sniping at each other again. Jack has to stop Carly from attacking the 'blinged out bimbo'. When they leave, Jack and Carly hold hands for a minute and tell each other how cool they are. Craig suddenly appears and tells Jack he has a delivery from his wife. He explains that he brought Liberty because she needs help. Jack tells him to get lost. Carly offers to handle Craig. Jack putters off. Craig asks her if they can go to her room and talk. They bicker about business and he tells her there is still hope for them. She claims that she has come on this trip to seduce Jack. He points out that Jack drove her to drink because he frustrated her so much. "He loves you but he doesn't respect you and half the time he has no compunction about leaving you," he tells her. She says that she needs and wants Jack. Craig begs her not to do this and tells her he would do anything for her. "Thank you for loving me like that but you're not him," she says, asking him to leave.
Craig tells Jack that he's going back to Oakdale. Before he leaves, he asks him if he still loves Carly. Jack avoids answering. Craig wonders how he can mistreat Carly over and over again. He tells her that she wants him back and he wants to know if he wants the same thing. He just hopes that Carly wakes up in time to realize that Jack has been victimizing her. "She's an incredible prize and never has a man been less deserving," Craig tells him.
In the cabin, Jack and Carly stare in each other's eyes at the stroke of midnight. They think back over how many years they've spent together. He leans in to kiss her. "You're still married," she says, urging him to go back to Janet. He doubts she wants him back anymore. Carly kisses his cheek and wishes him a happy New Year. He kisses her back. The power returns. She wakes up Craig. He tells them about having a horrible dream about them giving him a sponge bath. "It was a nightmare for me," Jack assures him. Craig begs them not to say anything about this to anyone. A ranger comes to the door. He says that he can give them a lift but he only has room for two of them. Carly insists on staying behind with Craig just in case his fever comes back. Jack tells Craig he trashed his suit and then walks off. Carly digs up some clothes in the closet and hands them to Craig. He complains about Jack as he pulls on a sweater. "It smells like the 80s," he whines. She asks him why he almost killed himself trying to be a hero. "Would you care?" he asks. He's sure that she must care about him. She claims she doesn't. He asks her if there is still a chance for them. Carly tells him to stay out of her life. The ranger later returns to get them.
Craig and Carly go to the Lakeview. He asks her up for a nightcap... or a look at the view. She's not interested. He thanks her for looking after him. When he goes to his room, he takes out a picture of Carly and tells it that he's not giving up yet.
In the cabin, Craig sneezes on Jack. Carly asks the men to stop bickering and sends Jack out to get some wood. Carly and Craig argue. He claims Jack wants her back but he's afraid to say what he means or wants and suggests that someone should remind him that he's married. She thinks this is rich coming from him but Craig insists that he's always up front about everything while Jack is two-faced. Jack returns. He tries to start a fire but there's something wrong with the stove. Craig offers to go out and try to hail a car. Carly attempts to stop him but Craig still goes. Jack suddenly remembers Janet.
Back at the cabin, Jack finds a bathtub. They remember when he washed her hair in Montana. She asks him why he is there. He didn't want to leave her alone with Craig. "Why don't you tell me why you're really here?" she asks. He tells her about Dusty kissing Janet and admits that he pushed her to do it. Carly asks him what he wants again. As they get close, Craig returns, covered in muck. Carly says they should pour a bath for him. He and Jack argue until Craig collapses. They use the water they've been heating to fill the tub and put Craig in it. Jack averts his gaze. She tells him all men look the same naked. Craig has a fever and begins mumbling. They bundle him up. Jack goes outside and Craig apologizes for bringing her there. "You think Jack's the love of your life, but he'll never accept who you really are, not like I do," he says as he shivers. Jack stands in the door and stares. Later, he tells Carly that Craig is wrong. Although he may have always been judgmental of her, his days of being judgmental died with Brad. They notice it's nearly midnight and count down as they stare into each other's eyes.
Carly and Craig are stuck in his car. The engine isn't working. They bicker. She orders him to start pushing the car. That doesn't work. He tells her they passed some cabins and they decide to walk back to them.
They make their way to the cabin. There's electricity but the phone is dead. She says she will not spend the night there with him. They bicker. She storms out. Jack comes to the door and demands to know where Carly is. They argue and Jack leaves to look for her. He soon returns after having no luck. They continue bickering. Craig tells him to go back to his wife and says there is no reason for him to be there.
Carly has gone off and found Jack's car. She looks at photos of the kids. She returns to the cabin and is surprised to see Jack there. She says that they are all staying put. Jack left his lights on and killed the car battery. Craig suggests Jack try to hail a truck on the road. The power goes out.
At Carly's, Jack finds Sage's teddy bear. Carly says it's been nice to have him around. When he goes up to shower, Craig arrives. He barges in and insists that they have to talk about the business. He has a terrible cold and needs her help. They begin debating what happened at the wedding. He claims Rosanna left both of them. She informs him that her sister has actually called her since she left. As they argue, Jack returns and offers to see Craig out. The men bicker. "Jack, what are you doing?" Carly asks, prompting him to leave and go to see Janet. Craig's impressed. She tells him she is done with him and suggests he sell the vitamin water company so they can end things permanently. He repeats that he needs her to come with him to meet with the advertisers. Parker comes in and they explain that they need him to go with them. When Craig tells him this could mean that they will never have to see him again, Parker is eager to go. Carly tells Craig that this will be the last time.
