DEREK COBURN'S HISTORY
Derek arrived in Oakdale, a loan shark, who offered to bail Paul out of the mess at the Snyder Farm. Instead, though, he placed more pressure on Paul to come up with the money to pay him back. It turned out that Derek was working with James against Paul. When James kidnapped Meg, Derek came clean and helped to lead police to the island where James was holding Meg.
Derek disappeared for a while and when he returned, asked Bonnie for a second chance.

At Metro, Derek apologizes to Bonnie for being so harsh with her about Dusty. She admits to him that she and Dusty have kissed twice. Derek tells her he is back to be with her, but not if she has something going on with Dusty. She admits she has no idea what is going on with Dusty. Derek tells her not to bother letting him know when she figures it out!
Thursday, June 11 2009: Carly, Are You Drinking Again?
At Bonnie’s, Dusty gives her a few things that she left in his car the other day. He dangles her bra in front of her and says that he found it in the glove compartment. She asks him if anything happened as she can’t remember the evening. Dusty gives her a sexy smile. They tease each other and she offers him a drink. He says it’s too early and that he has to go to apologize to Meg for dissing Paul. Bonnie suggests he take flowers and he tells her to keep track of her underwear. He leaves and Derek arrives and sees the bra. He asks for an explanation. She says anything she does is none of his business. He asks her point blank if she is having an affair with Dusty and she orders him out.
