Maeve and Holden go on a tour of the town. They notice Lily with Damian down the street. She's telling him that she wants to talk to the lawyer alone. He's reluctant but agrees and leaves. The lawyer informs her that she is legally married to Damian. She spots Holden and Maeve together. "Excuse me. Who is this woman?" she demands as she bustles over.
Emily drops Liberty off at the diner to see her mom. After Emily leaves, Liberty asks why she was sent for. Janet hates all the tension between them and begins talking about when she was a little girl. Her daughter cuts it short and asks what this is really about. Janet complains about Paul and Emily. Liberty insists that things are settled with them. Her mother tells her her idea to adopt the baby and raise it as her own. "Are you sure that you don't need a padded cell?" Liberty asks. They argue all the way outside. Liberty explains that she doesn't want to live in the same house as the child she's giving up. She wants her child to have a good life but doesn't want to be a part of it and wishes her mother could accept that. Janet begs. "If you want your own baby, have one, but you're not getting mine!" Liberty says.
Liberty wakes up at Paul's and has breakfast with him and Emily. She talks about how great the bed in the guestroom is and then she worries about all of the stress she's in for when she goes home. Paul and Emily suggest she move in with them to avoid it. Janet calls and Liberty tells her that she just stayed at a friend's. After she hangs up, she decides she has to go home. Emily says that's a bad idea and they'll go with her to convince Janet to let her move in with them.
They head over to the farmhouse. Janet isn't happy when Emily butts in and explains that Liberty will be living with her until she gives birth. "Over my dead body!" Janet shouts. She argues with everyone but Liberty tells her that she has been no help ever since she got pregnant. Jack drags his wife outside and tells her she is going about this all wrong. They can't lock her up and they need to calm down. Janet takes some deep breaths and then goes back inside. She tells her daughter to pack a jacket. After Liberty walks off to pack, Janet lays into Emily for turning Liberty against her. "I think you did that yourself," Emily shoots back. They argue until Liberty returns. She refuses to listen to any more from her mom and walks out.
Janet and Jack are apologizing to Liberty because they think she's giving her baby to Paul and Emily to get revenge on them. Liberty and Parker insist that this is what she wants. Janet says this should all be about her doing what is right for her. "I just want it to be over," Liberty says. Her mother asks her to try picking a couple who don't live in town. Janet walks outside and Jack follows her. He tries to reassure her and says that the hardest thing to do will be getting Paul and Emily to back off. "I'll get Uncle Ralph to talk to them," she decides. They go back inside and tell Liberty that they have arranged for another couple to come and see her and order Parker to go. Liberty wants him there for it. They remind her that he's not the father. She tells them that if he can't be there for it, neither can they. She walks Parker out. He tells her to stick to her guns no matter what.
Standing outside the house, Jack wonders to Janet if they are handling Liberty wrong. They keep shutting her down whenever she tries to make up her mind. Janet refuses to let her make the wrong decision about anything. He leaves to check on Parker. Janet looks through the window to watch Liberty talking to the prospective parents, a pair of Christmas ornament makers. She rushes in as the woman grabs Liberty's belly. They leave. "No way in hell," Liberty says when her mother asks her how that went.
Parker and Jack return to the farm as Ralph and Janet talk. Jack tells everyone that they need to back off and let Liberty make a choice. Ralph and Janet think that Liberty needs someone telling her what to do. Jack is sure that will only backfire.
Liberty goes over to Paul's and tells him and Emily that her mother is out of control. They suggest that she stay there tonight.
Jack drops in to see Parker and Liberty. She tells him about the meeting for the adoption and Jack says he doesn't want Parker there. Jack asks to talk to Parker alone. Parker makes the case for why he should be there to help his friend. Liberty returns and Jack agrees to let Parker go with her to the meeting. After they leave, Janet comes in and isn't thrilled when Jack tells her that Parker is going to the meeting with Liberty. Janet thinks that she should be there instead of Parker. Jack follows her as she heads out the door.
At the clinic, Parker tries to reassure Liberty and remind her of her choices. She worries about the couple liking her. Jack and Janet arrive. Liberty isn't happy to see them after they'd promised to stay away. Brad and Katie come in next and arguments erupt. Paul and Emily come in, though they're reluctant to since it sounds like a hockey game in there. When it becomes obvious that they are the adoptive couple, Jack blurts out, "No way in hell!" As the lawyer comes in, everyone gangs up against Paul and Emily and reminds them of all of their past crimes. Liberty shakes her head. The lawyer has heard enough and leaves. Liberty and Parker go next. The three couples bicker. Paul accuses them of being too judgmental and reminds them that they are far from perfect. Katie thinks they've all done a great job turning Liberty off to the idea of adoption. She tells them they owe their daughter an apology.
