Casey takes Ameera for ice cream in Old Town. Seeing that she is distracted, he asks if she wants to talk about anything. She says she knows her marriage isn't real but that her feelings for Noah are confusing for her. "It makes me sad to be excluded from a part of Noah's life," she says. Casey advises her to be honest with Noah about how she feels but she doesn't think he'll understand. Casey takes her back to the cottage. As they arrive Ameera sees the INS agent and wonders what to do. Casey tells her to go in through the bedroom window. She sees Luke and he helps her inside just before the INS agent checks the bedroom! Casey and Luke, pretending to be boyfriends, go to the front door. They invite Noah and Ameera to dinner but Noah says they want some time alone. Casey and Luke say they understand and Luke kisses Casey's cheek. They leave. Noah turns back to the agent. He says he'll be back for another visit soon and leaves. Noah asks Ameera how she got into the room; she says she doesn't want to lie any more. Luke and Casey return, saying this isn't going as planned. Luke and Noah go outside. Luke says they need to cool things off for a while; he hugs Noah but Noah pulls away, saying the agent could still be watching. Hurt, Luke says he can't keep doing this and leaves. Noah returns inside as Casey tells Ameera to be honest with her husband. Casey leaves. Noah asks Ameera what Casey meant. She says she is ashamed of all the lying they have been doing. Noah says it is only for a little while. When he sees how tired she is, he tells her to go to bed. She asks where he'll sleep and he suggests that they sleep together for the night because of the agent. Ameera smiles when he goes to get his bags.
At the farm, Noah says he and Ameera should attend as a couple. Luke answers the door when Casey arrives. Luke says Noah's plan is great because he'll be attending with his date - Casey! Casey is not happy with that thought. Ameera comes in and asks if he is coming to the party with them and he agrees to go. Luke pulls him out to the truck as Ameera giggles.
Alison finds Chris at the hospital and tries to bully him into going to Will and Gwen's with her. He says he has too much work but finally gives in. They arrive at the cottage as Aaron does. Will isn't thrilled but Chris steps up and apologizes for his part in the adoption hearings. All is forgiven. Aaron takes Alison aside and asks what is going on with Chris; Allie says they are just friends. Aaron is jealous. Chris tells Alison that he doesn't want to push his luck with Will so he is leaving. He invites her to come along with him and she accepts. Aaron watches them, very unhappy. Casey, Luke, Noah and Ameera arrive. Luke explains that Ameera is Noah's wife-in-name-only; Luke jokes that Casey is now his "boyfriend". Casey objects to that description. Paul takes Will aside and says he wants to be a better brother. They hug. Just then Sofie arrives. She tearily says her goodbyes to Hallie. When Aaron tries to make her stay, though, Sofie says she wants to be alone and hurries out. Paul follows. On the porch she tells him about Barbara's surgery. They leave together. Will takes Gwen into the bedroom and she says she finally realizes why they need to move - because Sofie can't move on with them back in town. Noah and Luke are lamenting their problems with the INS. Gwen has a great idea - Noah and Ameera should move into the cottage, that way they'll have more freedom because Luke and his "boyfriend" could visit any time. "Uuh, I'm not in this for a long-term relationship," Casey jokes. Luke doesn't like the idea either, but Noah and Ameera convince them it is a great plan. Will takes a picture of the "happy couples". When everyone is gone, Will and Gwen toast to their new life. He kisses her.
In Old Town, Luke tells Noah that they are in the clear as far as the INS is concerned so they can take up where they left off. Noah pulls away from him, throwing Luke for a moment. He says he won't go back into the closet; Noah apologizes but makes the excuse that they have to be careful about the INS. Ameera apologizes for putting them both in jeopardy. They agree to meet for coffee later. Later, Ameera runs into Casey outside Java. They go inside for a drink and as they are talking, Casey comments about his incarceration. Ameera is surprised he was locked up and takes his hand as he tells her about the gambling and his time in prison. Just then the INS investigator walks in! He asks what she is doing with Casey and tells her about visiting the farm. Both Ameera and Casey say they are just friends, but the investigator doesn't believe them. He says her Visa is now in jeopardy! Just then Noah and Luke arrive; Luke watches uncomfortably as Noah puts his arms around Ameera. He thanks Casey for hanging out with Ameera. The INS investigator still has questions about Casey until Luke says Casey is his boyfriend! That seems to appease the investigator and he leaves. Casey angrily asks Luke why he said that. Luke jokingly says it doesn't matter that it was just for show but Casey is obviously upset. Noah says they may have come up with the perfect solution: Luke and Casey can pretend to date so that Ameera always has someone with her! Casey doesn't like that idea at all and neither does Ameera. She says she doesn't want to live a lie. Noah and Luke know this is their only choice. "You're my husband and I'll do what you want," she says sadly. Still upset, Casey leaves. The kids return to the farm. Emma tells them about the INS visit. She says she isn't good at lying but that she'll try to help them in any way she can. They all apologize to her. She sends Luke and Noah out to the barn to help the roofer. On the porch, Noah thanks Luke for going along with the Casey plan. Luke says it was no big deal but says they need to be careful around Ameera because she obviously doesn't realize this will always be an in-name-only marriage. Noah hugs him and says they belong together.
Luke runs down Noah in Old Town. He asks Noah to take notes but Noah says he isn't going to class - he's going to the courtroom! Luke nearly kisses him but then draws back, afraid that Homeland Security or the INS might be watching. Ameera returns from getting coffee and asks if she can go to the trial, too.
Meg, Emma, Holden and Lily support Parker at the farm, telling him that everything is going to be fine. Parker refuses to let them look on the bright side, insisting he is going to jail. Emma makes Parker breakfast while Holden assures Parker that Carly and Jack are tracking down a new lead. Realizing that his parents aren't going to be in the courtroom, Parker storms out - and runs right into Paul! Paul tells Parker to have faith. The family leaves for court together. At the courthouse, Emma takes Parker inside. Holden greets Noah, Luke and Ameera, thanking them for coming. The crowd goes inside. Lily hangs back with Luke to make sure he is okay. Luke admits that he isn't completely okay with Noah's marriage. Brad and Katie arrive and Holden fills them in on their mission. Meg asks Paul if he has had a premonition about Parker and he says he hasn't. She asks if things are going well with Barbara and he says he isn't sure. Paul asks if they can sit together but Meg turns to her family's row of seats. Tom and the prosecutor return; Holden asks Tom how he is doing after the Gray incident. He says they are hanging on. Parker sees Tom and asks if there is still time for Carly and Jack to arrive; he says they need to hurry. Just then the judge comes into the room and the session begins. Parker takes the stand and tells the judge about Sam firing bands to make himself indispensable to Carly. As Parker talks about the feelings he had on the night of the shooting, Ameera becomes very uncomfortable. Parker continues talking and tells the judge about Sam hurting Carly. Ameera can't take it and leaves. Noah follows just as Parker admits he did shoot Sam. Tom asks how many times Parker shot the gun and Parker swears he only shot once. The judge asks if he is certain because in his deposition Parker said he may have shot twice. Parker explains that he was still upset at the time but that he is certain now. "I didn't kill Sam," he says.
In the hall, Ameera apologizes to Noah but says she couldn't listen to the testimony any longer because it was bringing back memories from the past. Noah offers to take her home but Ameera says she wants to stay. They return to the courtroom as the prosecutor begins questioning Parker. She twists Parker's words from the deposition and makes him admit that he wanted Sam permanently out of the picture and that he could have fired twice. The judge releases Parker from the witness stand and Tom gives his closing arguments. The prosecutor gives her closing arguments, too, saying that Parker is the only person who could have killed Sam. The judge calls a recess and says he'll return with a verdict soon. Parker asks Tom what his chances are and Tom says good; later, talking to Holden, Tom admits that Parker will likely be found guilty. Luke asks Noah and Ameera why they left. Noah says Parker's testimony brought up bad memories for Ameera. Noah asks how Luke is and he says as long as he knows they have a future, he will be fine. Lily, meanwhile, is worried that Carly and Jack won't get there in time. In the hall, Meg thanks Paul for encouraging Parker at the farm. Brad sends Jack a text message, asking him to hurry. Just then the judge returns to the courtroom. The judge says Parker's actions were premeditated and that because there is no evidence of another shooter, he has to find Parker guilty!
In the car, Jack flashes his badge and tells the officer they are trying to get Ruby back as a witness in a murder case. He offers to escort them to the courthouse! Jack and Carly walk into the courtroom with Ruby just as the judge finds Parker guilty. The prosecutor tells the judge to ignore them but the judge allows for a final witness and Ruby takes the stand. Tom asks Ruby about Kit and Ruby tells the court about Kit befriending her on the street. The prosecutor objects but the judge overrules her. Ruby tells them that Kit returned to Metro, saw Sam with Carly and then saw Parker shoot. "And then Kit finished Sam off," she says. The prosecutor questions Ruby, who says she only wants to save Parker's life. Ruby gives the judge Kit's identification, which was left in the pocket of the coat she gave Ruby. Along with identification is proof of another of Kit's aliases and proof that Kit was in Oakdale the night of the shooting. The judge releases Ruby from the stand. The judge reverses his guilty verdict and releases Parker, but says he will still have to be punished for shooting Sam. The courtroom is ecstatic.
Holden, Luke, Noah and Ameera go to the Homeland Security office for a meeting. The officer asks why Ameera wants to extend her visa and she says it is because she is married now. The officer says because of the marriage the visa can be extended but that customs and immigration officials will have to make a few surprise visits to make sure the marriage is legitimate. Holden says they can find the kids at the farm; the officer wonders why they aren't enjoying married life alone. Holden says Noah moved in with the family when Win was sent to prison but the official still thinks something is fishy. The official congratulates Noah and Ameera and then sends them off. Outside, Holden tells the kids to be very careful. He leaves to see Jack. The kids leave for school. Ameera tells the boys to go on to their class but Noah insists on staying close to her so that anyone watching them won't have any ammunition against them. Luke follows sadly along. Noah and Luke deliver Ameera to Java. They stay outside, wondering how they can keep the authorities from finding out about the fake wedding.
Margo and Tom are getting ready for work and talking about Gray when Casey walks in. Casey backs up Tom, saying Margo needs to take extra precautions because he blames himself for their troubles. Margo says none of this is Casey's fault. Casey is worried about his friend; Tom says Matt has a good chance at cutting a deal. Margo leaves for the hospital to talk to Brad and Tom leaves for the office. Casey notices a police officer outside. The man says he is there to protect Casey! A while later, Casey arrives at Java, where he sees Ameera and begins talking to her. She thanks him for saving her from the tough guy at Yo's. As they chat Ameera tells him that she got married. Casey is stunned, especially when he learns that she married Noah. She spots a cop outside and begs Casey to leave so she won't get in trouble. Casey sees the cop and promises that it is his guard, who is there for safety. She is relieved. Margo calls and warns Casey to be careful and not to try to lose his bodyguard. Casey offers to walk her to class but she isn't sure how that would look. Luke and Noah walk in. Casey asks them if he can walk with Ameera but Noah tells him no. Casey leaves. Noah says she could have ruined everything. She apologizes, saying she thought it was okay to talk to friends. Luke tells Noah he is overreacting and needs to calm down. Ameera leaves to walk to class alone. Noah tells Luke how hard this is. Luke says he is making it hard and tells him to lighten up and catch up with his wife.
