Brad and Katie are just finishing up the show at WOAK. The food dish is making Brad sick because of the hangover. He asks how she could leave him that way in Old Town; she points out that he hasn't been great to her lately, either. "Nothing about the Heimlich is romantic, Brad," she says when he brings up his proposal. Brad asks her to come have breakfast with him. Katie refuses. He says they can brainstorm new ideas but she turns him down. He suggests take-out but can't find his wallet. Bonnie arrives - with Brad's wallet and undies! Katie walks off but listens as Brad asks Bonnie if he can come to court with her. Bonnie says it is a closed hearing but Brad says he'll wait outside and they can grab lunch later. Bonnie agrees. They leave with Brad laughing and making jokes about briefs and torts. When they are outside Katie's hearing Bonnie tells Brad to stop trying so hard because Katie totally bought his scene. He leaves.
Sofie meets with Chris and asks him to testify on her behalf. Chris points out his family loyalties but she begs him to testify that she had post-partum depression. Her lawyer arrives. Chris agrees to testify. Will and Gwen arrive. Sofie says she was wrong to give up her child but thankfully Hallie will never remember them. She goes into the courtroom. Bonnie arrives and says they have a good chance at retaining custody but it will be heard. As they are headed inside Barbara arrives. Will asks her not to come in but Gwen tells her to stay. Will finally agrees and they go inside. Chris is called as Sofie's first witness. He talks about post-partum behavior, saying it could have caused her to take the baby. The lawyer brings up Cole and Iris and says they pressured Sofie into giving up the baby. He brings up Barbara's part in it. The judge asks what her part was. Barbara takes the stand and says Iris and Cole told her that Sofie wanted to get rid of the baby. She talks about what great parents Will and Gwen are. The lawyer brings up Barbara's payments to Iris and Cole. She says it was for medical bills. Sofie yells that Barbara was trying to buy her child. Sofie takes the stand and says she was a victim of Cole and Iris the whole time. She says she wouldn't have listened if she wasn't alone; the lawyer says the adoption should be void because Sofie wasn't represented. Bonnie points out that she asked Sofie to get a lawyer but she didn't want one. The lawyer questions Chris again, who says that Sofie was pressured! Will can't believe that Chris is siding with Sofie. The judge calls a recess so everyone can calm down. Sofie thanks Chris and hugs him. Will angrily asks Chris how he could do that to them. Chris says he was just offering an opinion and leaves. The court returns to session and Bonnie gives her opening arguments. She points out that Sofie may have been sad and lonely but she didn't have a right to kidnap the child when she didn't even have a job with which to care for her. "You recklessly endangered Hallie's life," Bonnie says! Sofie keeps calling Hallie "my baby" and tries to blame Barbara for the kidnapping! Bonnie focuses on Sofie and reminds her about all the safeguards that she told Sofie about before she signed. Then, Bonnie reminds Sofie that she knew about the time period she had to object. Sofie insists she doesn't remember that. Bonnie tells the judge that Sofie had no rights to Hallie when she kidnapped the baby because that waiting period had been over for one day. The judge asks if she read the agreement and Sofie says she did and then cries that she didn't realize what she was doing. Bonnie turns to the judge, telling him that Sofie is obviously unstable and tells him about what happened to Hallie in New York City. Sofie's lawyer insists that Sofie only made a mistake; Bonnie reminds the judge that Sofie had no rights to Hallie. Bonnie asks if they can bring in a few more witnesses, just to delay. The judge agrees and dismisses them for lunch. Gwen believes they could lose the baby. Bonnie tells them they need a witness who can offset Chris's testimony. Will suggests Aaron but Gwen doesn't like that idea. Bonnie says it could really help their case.
Katie is having coffee at Java when she sees Brad, naked, standing outside! She grabs a tablecloth and hurries to Brad, who is incredibly drunk. She tells him to go home; Brad kisses her! A police officer walks by and tries to arrest Brad for being a pervert! She says Brad doesn't mean any harm and asks the officer to let Brad go. He won't. Katie leaves. Bonnie walks by and asks what is going on; she tells the officer about Brad's connections with Dallas and Margo. The officer agrees to let him go as long as Bonnie takes Brad home. Katie watches the exchange.
Lily and Holden are having dinner at Al's when Bonnie angrily walks in and tells Holden to avoid police - even Jack! - unless she is around. She sits down with both of them and says Holden - and Lily - are only making things worse. "They could charge you with obstruction of justice," she says. Lucinda calls and Lily goes to chat with her. Bonnie continues with Holden, saying she won't represent him if he won't trust her. When he doesn't jump in line with Bonnie's plans, she takes herself off of his case and leaves. Lily returns and asks Holden what is going on with Bonnie. Holden says it doesn't matter and that what they need to focus on is getting Emily to talk. Lily says she'll stand by him.
Lily meets Bonnie at Al's, tells her the situation with Holden and begs Bonnie to take the case. Bonnie can't believe that Holden allowed himself to be questioned with no representation; she agrees to take the case and goes with Lily to the police station. Bonnie tells Dallas she wants to see her client but Dallas tries to keep Bonnie away. Margo returns with Holden and Bonnie insists on talking to him alone. Margo allows the contact and puts Bonnie and Holden in the interrogation room. Finally Holden tells Bonnie part of the truth - that he found the syringe near Lily. But he says he was afraid that Lily took some other drug and was trying to figure out what it was. Bonnie says it's a weak alibi. Margo comes in, tells them she got Holden an arraignment and suggests that Lily be ready to pay bail.
Holden takes Lily to the farm and sends her upstairs to rest. Bonnie arrives a few minutes later and is thrown when Holden says Lily is going to stay there for a while. She leaves. Natalie comes downstairs and asks if she can help with Lily. Holden says yes and then tells Nat that Lily is home to stay!
Lucinda warns an increasingly tipsy Lily to take it easy. She goes off to talk to Kim and Lily heads into a closed room to take a few more pills! She sees Holden arrive with Bonnie on his arm! She goes straight over to them and asks why they are there. "Well, enjoy," Lily says and turns away from them. Meanwhile Kim and Lucinda chat with Evan, Margo and Tom about MEMO21. Lucinda asks about Craig. Margo wonders if Dusty will show his face. Tom is sure things will be fine. Tom brings up Chris and Lucinda says he is looking around for Emily. Holden and Bonnie watch as Lily becomes even more drunk; Holden goes to her side and Lily tells him to leave her alone! Bonnie chats with Kim and Margo for a few moments.
In another room Chris overhears Dusty and Emily talking about their New Year's tryst. Emily tries to explain it was only once but Dusty interrupts, saying Emily is in love with him and that is why she won't commit to Chris! Emily asks Chris to come with her so they can talk but Chris can barely even look at her. Dusty brings up Bob. Chris lunges for him, grabs him by the lapels and slams him up against the wall! Tom hears them arguing and bursts in to the room. He separates them and follows Chris out of the room. Emily turns on Dusty, asking if he is trying to ruin her life. "I will get payback for this if it's the last thing I do," she says and storms off. Margo overhears! She asks Dusty what is going on but he won't say a word. Tom returns to Kim, who is worried about Chris. Tom says it has something to do with Emily and Dusty; Lily overhears and wonders if Chris now knows more than he wanted to about "those Stewart women". Emily chases after Chris but he won't give her the time of day. Dusty watches it all and then calls his investigator to bring in the coffee mug results. Holden and Bonnie reunite. She realizes he isn't really there with her and asks what is going on. They leave together. Lily watches them. Dusty sees her and asks what she is trying to accomplish. Lily is too drunk to care what she has done; Dusty tells her to apologize and Lily tosses her drink on him! Lucinda comes over and tells Lily she needs to calm down. Kim interrupts before Lucinda can take Lily away. Lily swears she is fine and just needs to freshen up. Lucinda goes back to the party. Lily sees an unmonitored cart and begins to rifle through it looking for drugs! She grabs one pill bottle and takes several capsules.
Back inside Chris and Evan take center stage and begin the presentation about MEMO21. Chris dedicates the project to Bob. Before he can sign the contract Dusty interrupts and tells everyone that Bob didn't want the project! Margo tries to interrupt but Dusty says he has proof against Chris and his underhanded dealings. Kim and Tom both try to get Dusty to shut up. Holden and Bonnie return as Lucinda rushes from the room and asks where Lily is. She tells him about the scene and asks Holden to find Lily. Bonnie returns inside alone and Holden goes to search for Lily. Lucinda returns and asks everyone to hear Dusty out! Chris calls for security and tries to have him arrested. Lucinda won't let Chris do it and says no one will sign any contracts until they hear everything Dusty has to say! Chris can't believe he is being foiled again.
Holden is searching the hallways. He goes around one corner and finds Lily, collapsed, on the floor. He calls a nurse and Lily is wheeled away. Holden goes after Dusty, telling him that Lily OD'd and it is all Dusty's fault! Lucinda hurries off to be with Lily. Holden focuses on Dusty, who says Lily's overdose is Holden's fault and not his! He tries to leave to go down to see Lily but Holden won't let him go and swears if he goes near Lily Holden will kill him! Margo tells both men to stop fighting.
