Good Luck.

Thursday, October 15 2009

Dusty is packing up when Jessica shows up at his door. "Are you out of your mind?" she asks. "Is that a trick question?" he shoots back. She demands to know what his intentions towards her daughter are. She doesn't think he is ready to move on from his loss and warns him that Bonnie is in love with him. Bonnie arrives and is startled to see her mom is there. She lays into her mother for flying over there to confront her... whatever he is. After she orders her mom out, she arranges to meet Dusty later.

At Metro, Bonnie tells her mother that she doesn't need rescuing and says she's out of control. Jessica doesn't thinks that she should let this get any deeper when she doesn't know how Dusty really feels. Bonnie insists that she is just having a little fun and tells her not to worry. Jessica is sure that he is still grieving for Jennifer. Bonnie thinks there is genuinely something between her and Dusty, but her mother urges her to confront him about where the relationship is going. Bonnie doesn't want to force him into defining their relationship. Dusty pops up and asks Jessica what she wants to know. He admits that he has no plans beyond their trip; they're just having a good time. Jessica asks her daughter if that's enough and rants about how Dusty could ruin her life. Bonnie asks her mom to stop treating her like a kid. "Well, I had to try," Jessica says. She gives her a hug and tells her not to cry her eyes out over him. After she leaves, Dusty tells her he's impressed by her mother. Before they can leave, she admits that her mom got into her head. She asks him about their future. He says it's open and admits that he doesn't want anything more than something casual. "I need more," she confesses. "Good luck," he says. She walks away as Teri walks in. "At least I know it's not just me. You're a jerk to everybody," she says. He tells her he loved his wife and watched her die; that made him understand the risk of caring.

Bonnie rushes to the farm and begs Meg to go to the courthouse because she is the only person who can help Dusty. Bonnie frantically begs her to be a character witness for Dusty. Meg does not want to get involved and thinks Dusty has made his choice. Bonnie asserts that Dusty will have to do time in jail and orders her to step up and help! Bonnie angrily leaves and Damian tells Meg she owes him nothing, but Meg asserts Dusty is her friend and needs her.

Bonnie arrives at the courthouse and informs Dusty that Meg is coming to speak on his behalf. Meg arrives just as Dusty is entering a plea of guilty. As Meg takes the stand, Paul interrupts and says that Meg should not be involved because he is responsible! Paul asks to take the stand and the judge allows it. Paul claims that he manipulated Damian and Dusty into going into war. He explains that everyone is fighting over "super hot" Meg, and the bomb had a technical malfunction and was not meant to harm anyone. Paul apologizes to everyone and thinks he deserved to be taken out.

Outside of the courtroom, Meg tells Dusty she owes him an apology. Meg admits she misjudged him. Dusty tells her he was just trying to protect her and Eliza, but realized he can't do that and will be out of the picture for awhile. Meg hopes that the judge will be kinder to him than he is to himself. Dusty tells her things were over between them a long time ago and to take care of herself. She tearfully leaves with Damian, and Bonnie leaves with him.
