At home, Brad is looking for alternative tests and colleges for Liberty. He's upset that she 'unfriended' him. Katie tells him to pay some more attention to his other child. He leaps up, assuming that she is in labor. She's not, she just has an appointment and is eager to find out the sex of their baby. He doesn't want to know.
Brad and Katie are at the hospital. She's eager to know what the sex of the baby will be. The technician comes in and they learn that it's a boy. They talk about all the other kids they could have. He wants five so they can have a band.
Katie and Brad go out for ice cream. He leaves to see Jack as Vienna walks in. Katie tells her that she is having a boy. Vienna slouches at the table and tells her about Henry's affair. Katie tries explaining what he did and Vienna realizes she must have known about this and helped him betray her. She bursts into tears and storms out. Katie runs after her.
Brad tells Jack that he's having a boy. They get beers and Jack tells him how proud he is of him.
Brad and Janet remember that it was the SATs today and he wants to throw a party for their daughter. She agrees and he hurries away to put it together. Emily calls Janet, looking for Lib, and they yell at each other.
On the street, Janet runs up to Parker looking for Liberty. He explains that she didn't get to take the test and it was really Emily's fault. Janet starts to erupt. "The two of you just want Liberty's baby and the fact that her life is hanging by a thread seems to mean nothing," he tells her, storming off as Brad arrives with balloons. She explains what happened and they grumble until she lets it slip that she still wants to adopt the baby. Brad isn't happy but she insists that it's the only way. He accuses her of being consumed with 'baby lust' and tells her to get one of her own.
Liberty sits in the park. Jack spots her and calls her parents. They arrive and stand on the road arguing about what they should do. Jack reminds them that their daughter just needs her parents right now. They walk over to her. "Libby Lu!" Janet says with open arms. They hug her.
Katie tries to drag Vienna from the burning diner. When she can't move her anymore, she calls for help. Brad rushes in and drags Vienna off the floor.
Vienna is taken to the hospital. Brad arrives with Katie and wants her checked out. He stays with her as a nurse checks her vitals. She asks Brad to calm down. Henry rushes in and checks on Vienna. He asks the doctor if they have any idea what started the fire. As he goes to Vienna's room, some flowers arrive for him from Ralph. "The circle of life is a beautiful thing, don't break it," the card reads. As he sits down, his mother rushes in and babbles to him before offering him some chocolates. He shows her the card and tells her that all of this is her fault. Henry wants Ralph out of his life and he can't keep lying to Vienna. She thinks he's an idiot if he wants to confess.
Henry goes to see Katie. He tells her how sorry he is and offers to get to the bottom of things with the fire. "I know where you were tonight. Are you mad?" she confronts him. He explains the deal with Ralph and Barbara freezing the accounts. "So your solution was to unfreeze Barbara?" she asks. He says it was his mother's idea and worries that it hasn't solved anything. She thinks he's being ridiculous and should remember that Vienna is okay. Brad comes in and takes Katie away. "We all got lucky today," he says.
