She doesn't answer. He says he'll save them both the embarrassment of rejection by taking her silence as a no. "Thank you," she smiles. "Not swayed by my courtly manner?" he asks. She shakes her head no. Before leaving, he tells her to do something nice for herself today. She asks what dulls his pain. "Still workin on that," he answers.

Love Triangle

Wednesday, January 17 2007

At Java, Dusty makes a phone call to tell someone to stay on this investigation. He informs them that Montgomery did. "So prove it," Craig says, coming up behind him. He says Emily's making a call and suggests he leave before she gets back, but he doesn't. Instead, he sits down at the table. Dusty asks him to be a man and not do this to Emily. He tells him to come after him instead.

Back at Java, Craig lets Dusty know he has nothing to do with Daniel. You're not going to pin this on me," he continues. "You too can just go to h***," Emily says as she approaches them. She expresses to them both how her son has been kidnapped and his father's in the hospital, but it's just another "Dusty and Craig show." Dusty tries to calm her down, but it doesn't do any good. She says her son's gone, Johnny's gone, but none of that matters. "Nothing matters except how much the two of you hate each other," she adds. Craig gets up from the table saying he's sorry for what's happening to her. Before he leaves, he tells her if she needs anything to call him. "Like I believe a word of that," she says to Dusty. He suggests she sit down so they can talk. He asks her what the police said. She says they said they're keeping an eye on Tull, but it's not doing any good. He tries to comfort her, but she says not to. She tells him to go to Craig instead. He apologizes saying sometimes Craig just gets to him, and all he was doing was trying to find out what was going on. She asks if he believes Craig's involved. When he confirms, she breaks down into tears as she thinks about Daniel.

Back at the hospital, Craig talks with Margo about Daniel. He says Emily thinks he has something to do with it. Then he asks if she thinks that too. She says she's a cop she don't jump to conclusions, but she says she's going to find the person who did, and she's going to find the evidence to put them away. She goes on to say the person who did it not only terrorized a little boy she loves so much, but they also caused what happened to her husband. As a result, she says she's pretty invested in finding that person." And you can't think that I had anything to do with that," Craig replies. "I didn't say that. I said when I get back to work I'm going to start with the usual suspects," she replies, looking straight into his eyes.

Hughes Family Emergency!

Monday, January 15 2007

Emily orders Craig to tell her where Daniel is. He says he doesn't know where Daniel is. She accuses him of hiring someone to take Daniel, but he continues to say he has nothing to do with it, and then suggests she start by talking to Paul. He goes on to say she's Tull's problem now, and to stay away from him!

After she leaves, he finds himself face-to-face with Dusty!

"Back so soon, and alone. I guess you didn't find my children?"
"You don't seem surprised. I guess that's when I left for Montaga you had me followed."
"And why would I do that?"
"Mess things up I guess," he shrugs.

When Craig says he wouldn't interfere with his search, Dusty says it didn't take him long to realize he was being followed because the work was sloppy, but he says he realized he wanted it that way. He tells him to save his excuses for Barbara. "So, if Lucy found out I was looking for her she'd know you weren't far behind," Dusty retorts. Need I remind you, they're my children not yours." "Thanks to you Pal, they're gone." Craig reminds him that he's the one who went after them, and he says that maybe the one Lucy doesn't want coming after them is he. "You'd like that wouldn't you? If I was the reason Lucy ran," Dusty asks. Craig smiles, asking if he bears no responsibility with what happened, but Dusty says he bears responsibility for his son. Craig says "his" isn't alone, because he's with his family -- his sister. "Don’t let me find out you're keeping him from coming home," Dusty cautions. Getting in his face, Craig says he's doing exactly what Lucy wanted, and he's the one who's chasing him halfway around the world. He goes on to say he's tired of him and Emily blaming him for the messes they've made. "So, from now on I'll be watching you both suffer from a distance," he adds as he turns and walks away.

"You don't like me taking things from you, get use to it. This is just the beginning," he warns. She reminds him that he's the reason his family deserted him, but he blames her saying he'll make her pay for it if it's the last thing he does!

"Where the h*LL is my son!" Emily asks Craig, after she slaps him across the face.

Will Punches Adam!

Tuesday, January 09 2007

At Lakeview dining room, Emily asks Craig to put the past behind them and move on instead of wasting his time threatening her. "So, what's it going to be?" she asks. "Both, I'm going to get my revenge," he replies. She asks why he wants to hurt her, what he gets out of it. "Satisfaction," he replies. She asks if a successful newspaper would be more satisfying knowing that she's there making sure things are running smoothly while he's off looking for his son. Then she asks if he going to try and find Johnny. When he confirms, she tells him to stop threatening her or he will be back in prison, and then she says he'll lose his son forever. Changing the subject he informs her that since she proved herself untrustworthy he has no reason to be in business with her anymore. She reminds him that he can't fire her because their partners. "Not anymore. I sold my half of the paper," he announces. "That's my punishment? You're not going to work with me anymore," she laughs. He laughs too, telling her not to try to be so happy about it, because he may have to re-think it. She says no, he doesn't have to re-think it. She so excited about the news that she tells him she can't think of anyone she'd rather be in business with less than him. "Think again," he says.

Soon after his comment, a man arrives. Craig introduces him saying his name is Marcus Tall, her partner. Shaking his hand, she says it's a pleasure to meet him. When he compliments her saying she's very attractive, she thanks him and points out that she's also very productive and has plans for their newspaper. "Our newspaper?" he replies. She says her focus is to bring the Intruder to the main stream. When he replies that his focus is on other things, her smile disappears. Then she says she's not sure what Craig has told him about her. He says he told him she was flaky and stabbed him in the back. She looks toward Craig. "I believe in full disclosure," he smirks. She asks Mr. Tall if she can call him by his first name, but he says no. She admits she's made mistakes, but she says her interest is her family and the newspaper. Realizing Craig hasn't told her he explains that if she wants to work hard that's great, but she has to do it somewhere else. She says she doesn't understand. He explains that he's going to buy Craig's half of the paper, and then he says he's going to buy her half. "Why?" she asks, swallowing hard. He replies, writing out a check, "So I can shut down the whole operation and write it off as a tax loss." He offers her the check, but she doesn't take it. She says she has many reasons for wanting to stay with her paper. "Emotional reasons--it's not all financial," she adds. He says that's not his problem. "What the h*** have you done?" she turns to Craig. "That's how it works, Emily. Reap. Sew," he replies.

Later, Emily tells Mr. Tall she's not accepting his check. When he asks her about it she says she's tired of being pushed around by men like him. He informs her that she doesn't even know me. She says Craig has told her how powerful he is, but she says she's known plenty of powerful men in her past. He asks if those men have offered to give her a ton of money. "What if I don't want to sell?" she replies. "That wouldn't be wise," he warns. Turning to Craig he says, "You said she'd sell." "Well, she won't," Emily chimes in. "You know how I operate," Mr. Tall reminds Craig. "Oh yeah," Craig replies. "So convince her," he says, grabbing his briefcase. "And I'll be seeing you soon," he says to Emily before leaving.

After he leaves, Craig informs her that she's making a huge mistake. She says she never said she'd sell her share of the paper. He says if she thought he was a bad partner, Mr. Tall will be a lot worse.

"No Craig, no one is worse than you."
"You don't want to test that theory," he cautions.
"No Craig, I want to run my paper."
"That is no longer an option," he says.

She says she's sick and tired of being dumped by guys she don't even like. She goes on to say, "You're dumping me by selling your share of the paper to a guy so he can dump me! It's not happening! Do you hear what I'm saying? I am through being dumped! Period!" "Too late, Emily. I always get my pound of flesh, and what that amounts to this time is that you lose the paper." "No, I will not let you do this to me," she replies.

"Don't be a fool. Take the offer or you'll lose a h*** of a lot more than the paper." "You're just trying to scare me."
"I'm trying to warn you. Take it, or you'll regret it."
"I don't care who this guy is. He can take his deal and shove it!" she says through clenched teeth, then grabs the paper from his hand and slams it onto the floor.

Grabbing her purse to leave, she adds, "I've lost enough in my life, and I'm not losing my paper too!"

Thursday, January 04 2007

Craig informs Dusty that they lost. Dusty asks what his point is. He says that night in the garage everything came to a head and looking back at it, it was almost inevitable, and the people that were there know what happened. He goes on to say they don't need a judge and jury to place the blame. Therefore, he says the truth is that night and what lead up to it can't be undone, and they all have to move on. He says that why he decided to let the matter go. Dusty asks Jessica if she's willing to go along with this. She says willing to respect Mr. Montgomery's wishes in this case. Craig says he would think so since he's the one who took the bullet to the chest, and he says this is how he wishes to resolve it. Jessica continues by saying her office will issue a statement today saying that the charges of attempted murder against Dusty have been dropped. She goes on to say that as a result, the state won't be charging Craig as an accessory. "Well, look at that! All be da***! That's what I call a win, win," Craig smirks. As Emily, Meg and Dusty stand in shock by the news, Craig says, "Well don't everyone thank me at once," Dusty asks to speak with Jessica. Taking her outside, he asks what the catch is. She says there isn't a catch, but he says there's always a catch with Montgomery. She says he doesn't have to thank him or anything, but she advises that if he's willing to let it go then he should too.
