After Jack leaves, Craig says, "Something's bothering you. There's something you didn't tell Jack isn't there." "Yeah, there's something I didn't tell Jack," she admits. He whispers that it's good she didn't tell Jack everything, because she's under a lot of stress. She asks if he thinks she did something wrong. He says this crazy guy makes some little accusation and everyone thinks he's crazy, but he says he admires how she gets inside her head and asks herself if it's her fault - if there's something she did wrong. However, he says she can't let the cops see that, because they'll see her consciousness. She retorts that she was talking to Jack, and he's her friend. He says he's also a cop, and it's in his DNA to uncover secrets, even if they have nothing to do with the crime. He goes on to say if she needs to talk to talk to him. "I'm the guy who knows what happened here," he whispers.
Jack comes back and says he briefly went through the patient's medical records and she's the one who signed off on them. "So, if there was an allergy that might have resulted in analeptic shock, you would have known it, right? he asks Meg. Avoiding his question, she says if he's about done with her she's going to get some air. He says okay then tells Craig he's going to need a statement from him too. Before she leaves, she says when he writes out her statement to make sure he writes in there that Craig was the one who saved her.
As Meg watches the janitor mop up the blood, she recalls the gunman's words before he went to surgery. "You did it. You killed my wife." "He's right… I did kill her," she says to herself."
At the hospital, Meg asks the gunman to put the gun away so she can help him. He asks her name, and then asks her to tell him who killed his wife!
Moments later, Craig enters and finds hisself face-to-face with a gun. He sits down on the floor with the rest of the hostages. Meg continues to try to talk to the gunman about his wife. He says her name was Sara and she came in for surgery, but didn't make it out. He starts walking around pointing his gun at people asking if they killed his wife. He finds Barbara on the phone. He points the gun at her and grabs the phone from her hands! He says if she does that again, she's a dead woman! Meg grabs his attention trying to negotiate with him. She asks what his wife's last name was. When he tells her, she realizes his wife is the patient she lost! He wants to know how she died - what happened. Meg flashes back to that day. "You remembered something didn't you? Tell me what happened to my wife!" he demands, pointing the gun at her. He says he has a right to know what happened to her. She says of course he does, and she can only tell him what she knows. He turns and tells everyone expect for Meg that they can leave. He pulls her into a room and asks how his wife died. She explains that she went into analeptic shock during recovery, but she says the team worked hard to bring her back. However, she says because of the shock and the surgery she just couldn't make it. He asks her if analeptic shock is caused from an allergic reaction. She says that's usually the case. He says she was allergic to everything in the world, and asks if they read her charts. She says they did. He says someone at the hospital made a mistake then asks her when her shift started. She admits she's was asked to stay late. "So, you were here this morning?" he inquires. "Yes, I was one of the people who pitched in to save her," she answers. He says then she knows who's responsible for his wife's death. She says if she doesn't know what happened how can she tell him who was responsible. He says she was there. He questions her further. "You were her nurse weren't you?" he asks. She admits she was. He asks what his wife told her. Flashing back, she remembers her asking to use her own sheets because she's allergic to a lot of things. She also remembers her asking if she's wearing perfume, and that she requested no plants in the room. She recalls his wife naming off all the meds she's allergic to, and then she remembers going into a daze and not recording them all in the chart! "What?" the gunman asks. "I was just thinking," she replies. "You remembered something didn't you?" She explains to him that his wife told her everything, including the meds she was allergic to. The He asks if she wrote the information down. She confirms. He asks to see the list, but she says since he asked Dr. Hughes to review the case he has the chart. He calls her a liar. She advises him to call Dr. Hughes and get the chart. He accuses her of thinking his wife was exaggerating like everyone else does. He explains how sensitive she was to everything, and how she would have migraines that caused her to be in bed for days. Meg feels sorry and apologizes. He says she should be. He goes on to say she's a nurse and shouldn't have let her personal feelings get in the way of her job, but she did, and she didn't pay attention. He says she wrote his wife off and a weirdo, a narcotic, and she failed to write down everything she said. She says she's sure she wrote everything down. "You're a liar!" he shouts. He goes on to say because of her arrogance she killed his wife and now he's going to kill her! Meanwhile, Craig stands hid, watching the action.
Back at the hospital, the gunman continues to hold Meg at gunpoint! "You killed my wife!" he says. He says he loved his wife and she took that away from him. She says she made a mistake and she's sorry. He says of course she is, but now someone in her family is going to know what it's like to lose someone. She cries as she begs him not to shoot her. "What? What's that? I can't hear you," he says. Craig comes to the rescue! He tackles the gunman taking him to the ground. While wrestling, the gun goes off!
At Lakeview, Craig continues to say he had anything to do with Daniel's kidnapping. Lily wants to believe him, but she doesn't understand why Emily would accuse him.
Later, he asks her what's new in her life. She explains her new job and tells him she tried diet pills and they worked, but when Holden found out, she stopped taking them. He said last time he looked Holden didn't have MD behind his name. He asks if she's taking more than the recommended dose. She says of course not. He says then he sees no harm in her taking them, even though she doesn’t need them. She thanks him for being so kind. His phone rings and he has to go. He thanks her for being his only friend in the world. After he leaves, she pulls the pills from her purse and takes one.
Emily drops by Margo and Tom's to bring Daniel his MP3 player. When she starts upstairs to give it to him, Margo stops her saying he's sleeping. Emily asks about him, and she says she asked him if he wanted her or Tom, but she says he wanted to be alone. The doorbell rings. It's Craig stopping by with flowers. Emily jumps him saying he traumatized her son! Daniel comes downstairs and asks his mom why she's yelling. She tells him Uncle Craig is the one who kidnapped him and he can never go near him again!
Back at Margo and Tom's, Emily is trying to explain things to Daniel. Craig approaches Daniel, but Emily scolds him for going near her son. Margo sends Daniel out of the room then tells Emily she doesn't want her there. Emily expresses that she can't believe she's letting Craig in the house after what he done to Daniel. She goes on to say she doesn't want him there around her son. Margo says she'll keep an eye on Daniel. Again, she asks her to leave. She says her being there is too stressful on Tom.
After Emily leaves, Margo confronts Craig about selling his share of the paper to a man who kidnapped Daniel. He says he had nothing to do with Daniel's kidnapping. She recalls him coming to the hospital, and says he was very upset. He says he was worried about her and Tom. She says he may have been worried, but she also says he's guilty because Emily's right. She goes on to say he hired a thug to go after her because she sided with Dusty. He tells her to be honest. He says she doesn't care about Emily anymore than he does. She says she's Danny's mother, and anything he does to Emily affects her family. She reminds him that the man she loves is upstairs recovering from heart surgery. He tells her it's going to be okay because Tom's strong. She throws her hands in the air. He says she knows he wouldn't hurt her. "But you do hurt me. You hurt me. You hurt Tom. You hurt Danny." He suggests she get some rest, but she asks him to go. He offers to make her a cup of tea or something. "Tea? Get out of here," she says, leaving the room. Before he leaves, he places flowers he brought on the back of the couch.
At Lakeview, Lily spots Emily and asks her how Daniel is doing. She says he's a mess. "Was he hurt," she asks with concern. "Not physically, but he was definitely traumatized." As they talk, Emily notices Craig coming in. She tells Lily it's because of him. "He had Daniel kidnapped!" Excusing himself for a moment, he grabs Emily by the arm and pulls her aside. "Get your hands off of me!" she exclaims, jerking away. "Keep it up, Emily, and I will make sure you really pay," he threatens. Lily interrupts. "Is there a problem?" she asks. "You're looking at him," Emily replies. "You stay away from me, and you stay away from my son," she warns Craig. After she walks away, Lily asks Craig what's going on. She says it sounds like he had something to do with Daniel's kidnapping. He explains what happened with the Intruder. He says his whole family has turned against him. "At least you still have some friends." "Name one," he laughs. "You have me. I don't always agree with everything you do, but I am still your friend."
