Soon after she lies down, her phone rings. Quickly, Craig flips open her phone and puts it to his ear. "Meg, I'm glad you picked up. Look, I know I said I was going to back off, but I saw something and I really need to talk to you about it," Paul says, sounding panicked. "Well, she's resting right now, Paul," Craig replies. "Craig?" he asks, shocked. "Yes, but I'll be happy to tell her you called," he confirms. Paul slams the phone shut, grabs his coat and heads out the door!
Paul arrives to rescue Meg, but when he tries to take her away, she pulls away from him. "What are you doing? I'm not going anywhere with you, Paul!" She asks how he knew she was there. He says he called and Craig said she was there. She asks what he wants. He says he wants to keep her safe. She asks if he had another vision. He says he visualized her bracelet falling off. He goes on to say he had the same feeling as he did when he saw the blood on the floor at the hospital. She admits she was in danger tonight. "Because of Craig?" he solicits. "Because of me. I had too much to drink, and I think I would have done something I would have regretted," she continues. "What kind of something?" "I didn't do it so it doesn't matter." "Why didn't you?" "Actually, I have Craig to thank for that." "Did someone say my name?" Craig asks as he enters the room.
A little while later, Paul asks if she's okay with what just happened - Craig, the drinking and passing out. She shouts that she doesn't have to explain herself to him, but he says she does. He reminds her that there was a time when she'd rather have jumped out a window then be alone with Craig. "You know, I think the lady doesn't wish to continue this conversation," Craig butts in. "Unless I'm mistaken and you invited him here," he continues. "No," she says softly. "Do you want him to stay," Craig asks. "No," she answers. "I think that's clear. Don't you?" he says to Paul. "That's what you want?" Paul asks Meg, fighting back his emotions. "Yeah, it is," she confirms. "You can not mean that." "This is where I wanna be, Paul, whether you like it or not. So you need to stop crashing into my life with these storm warnings okay. It's not your job to protect…" "Protect you. I know. You keep saying that" he cuts her short. "It just doesn't seem to be getting through okay. You, you, just need to stop okay. I, I mean that," she stammers. "Okay, it won't happen again." "It can't happen again, even if you get one of those visions." "I won't make it your problem." "Thank you." "Please be careful," he cautions. "Didn't we just agree to no more warnings," she reminds. He sighs then turns to Craig and says, "I have a warning for you… if you ever hurt her, I will make you suffer."
After Paul leaves, she apologizes to Craig for Paul's intrusion. "Well, I guess Paul still thinks he's your body guard." He offers her a pill saying it's a "hangover prevention." She says she's a little past the prevention stage, and then says she has other things to worry about like her job and losing her nursing license. He advises her that if she leaves things the way they are no one is going to question her version of things or the diary entry. "Her death will be ruled a suicide," he adds. She says she's not sure if she can live with herself if she lets that happen. "Throwing your life away is not going to get her life back," he comments. "Uh, I don't think that should be my decision," she snaps. He rubs her back and suggests she let it be for a while. Let things cool down. He goes on to say she has a gift for healing. "Just as simple as that, huh," she replies. He confirms, and says that once she gets some rest she'll see. He offers to drive her home where she can get some sleep in her own bed. She says he helped her out so she owes him. "You must want something in return?" she continues. "Meg, this wasn’t a set-up." "So, you didn't want to sleep with me?" "I wanted to give you something that you could really cherish." "And what was that?" she inquires. "Freedom... with no strings attached," he answers. "Thank you," she says.
At the hospital, Meg is upset with Craig, because she thinks he wrote the diary. He whispers that he done it so she wouldn't lose her license or go to prison, and then he asks her to go with him so they can talk privately.
Later, Meg at Craig chat at his hotel room. She says he saved her life and now her reputation, but she informs him that she knows he's not doing it to help her. "You're doing this so you can have me," she explains. He says he's just trying to keep her from losing her job, nothing more. He goes on to say there are few people in the world he admires and she's one of them. She says she doesn't know what to say. "So, let me help you. What would be the harm?" he replies. "The harm… That I might end up being like you," she answers. She apologizes for hurting his feelings, but he says she's not the only one. He says he understands she has a better conscious than he does, and he doesn't want to change her. He goes on to say Paul is a moron. She says she doesn't want to talk about him. He says he's sorry, but he says when he looks at her, there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. He goes on to say he wants her to like him, because if he can get her to like him he won't be who everyone says he is.
Back at Craig's room, Meg tells him that she thinks what he just said is so sad. He takes her hand (we see the bracelet on her wrist that Paul just seen in his vision), and says he never wants to make her sad. "So, you really think I shouldn't say anything at the hospital?" she inquires. "I think it should be our little secret," he answers. "I think so too," she smiles. "Good," he says as he softly kisses her hand. "I never thought I'd have a secret with you," she laughs. "Well, what are friends for," he grins. "You saved my life, and you're saving it again, and I really misjudged you," she confesses. "I certainly hope so." He continues, "Meg?" "Yeah." "You're kind of too beautiful and too close for me to remain a gentleman." "So, what if you weren't a gentleman, what would you do?" He leans in and kisses her gently. Then, within seconds, his gentle kiss turns to passion, and they begin making out on the couch. As she lies back on the couch, her bracelet slips off her wrist into the floor. Just like in Paul's vision!
At the hospital, Craig tries to Comfort Meg. He says she's lost patients before so why is this one haunting her. She says she doesn't owe him an explanation. He asks her to dinner, but Paul interrupts. She informs Paul that Craig was just leaving. He takes the hint, but says he'll be back.
Paul reports that he has checked hisself in, and they've been running tests on him. He goes on to say his visions are gone for now, and he wants to help her. When he offers her his hand, she says, "No, don't touch me!" He says she asked him to help her, but she says he misunderstood. He says if his visions will help her get to the truth… but she cuts him short saying he can't keep coming to her rescue. "We're not engaged. We're not anything anymore," she reminds. He says he just wants to help her. "Why so you can use your so called powers to get close to me." Craig comes back and Paul leaves. Craig says he wants to know what Paul asked her so he can make it all better.
Later, Bob approaches Meg. She asks if he found out why her patient died. He says he did, and he thought she'd want to be the first to know. Craig leaves them alone. Bob says the autopsy revealed she died from analeptic shock caused by an allergic reaction to a medication she was given. Meg continues to blame herself. "You're taking this too hard," Bob says. She says it's her fault, because she's the one who filled out the admission forms, and if she left out an allergy, then… He interrupts saying it's not her fault. He goes on to say the patient died from a reaction to a medication, but he says it was the patient's own doing not hers. She says she doesn't understand. He reports to her that the police went through her diary and read where she intended to commit suicide. He says her plan was to lie about her allergies. He goes on to say he's sorry if this upsets her in any way. She thanks him for letting her know.
As soon as Bob leaves, Craig appears again. She says she thought he left. He says he thought he'd hang around in case she got fired so he could give her a ride home. She laughs and says she's not getting fired. He says he can tell by the smile, and then asks if her troubles are over. "They seem to be according to Bob," she replies. "Bob and the diary," he smirks. She asks him if he was listening in on their conversation, and she informs him that it was confidential. "I didn't hear a word," he says. "So if you weren't listening then how did you know about the diary?" she questions. "I couldn't hear anything. I was in the cafeteria getting your coffee. Hot enough for ya?" he responds.
As Craig wrestles with the gunman, Jack arrives and shoots the gunman. Meg yells for them to call for help, she says he's bleeding out!
Later, Craig comforts Meg. He says Jack saved the day, but she says he made the first move. She says she'll never forget what he done. "You see, I told you I wasn't so bad." She notices a small wound on his forehead and offers to take care of it for him. Meanwhile, the gunman is on his way to surgery. He grabs Meg by the shirt. "You killed my wife," he says.
Back at the hospital, Craig comforts Meg while she cries. Jack steps in and reminds her that she saved many people. She says she didn't, but he says he let everyone go because of her. She says he never planned to kill them.
