Damian is in a hotel room bed with Meg. He listens to a message from Lily and tells Meg he has to go and help his son. She reluctantly lets him go. "But you have to tell Lily everything has changed," she says. He tells her the timing isn't right but they can still see each other. He asks her not to force him to make a choice and just be patient. Meg won't wait forever. He pulls on his pants and promises she won't have to. After he leaves, she calls Officer Grady and tells him she has some disturbing information about Damian.
Lily and Luke take Noah home. Damian arrives breathlessly. Noah is still angry at him so Luke leads him away. Damian hands the adoption papers to Lily and says they just need a judge to sign off on them. He worries that this might not be the right time for him to move in.
Luke goes upstairs and tells Noah he knows what he's going through. Luke managed to get through his injury because Noah was there to help him. Noah says this is different because Luke caused this thanks to his mistrust. "We can never go back," he says. They go down to see Damian and Lily to sign the adoption papers. Meg calls Damian and tells him the cop is back and asking questions. Damian tells Lily he has to go out for awhile.
Damian meets with Meg and Officer Grady at the cafe. The cop confronts Damian for lying to him and says that he is going to have to go to his superiors about how he did. Damian takes the cop outside and points out that he has no proof that he actually lied. He offers the cop $10,000 to go away. Grady says it's a start. They shake on it and the cop leaves. Damian returns to Meg and she guesses what just happened. "I still know what you did," Meg reminds him. To keep her quiet, it's not going to take money.
I Can't See Anything.
At the hospital, Damian calls Lily and tells her that Noah has been moved out of the ICU. He's proud of how strong their son is. She's having his things unpacked as they speak. As they chat, Meg arrives and walks over to him. He gets off the phone and she warns him not to start playing house with Lily before he tells her the truth. She says Officer Grady could come back any time. He can't come clean right now because Luke and Noah need him. Meg thinks Lily will never forgive him if he moves in before telling her the truth. She offers to break the news herself. He forbids it. "You need to tell Lily the truth before something awful happens," she says.
Back at the hospital, Damian and Lily go in to see Noah. They tell him they want to adopt him. Noah refuses. He doesn't want anything from Damian and orders them to get out. When Noah tries to chase them out, he falls into Luke's arms. He refuses to leave him.
In the hall, Damian tells Lily how horrible he feels. She tells him he meant well and that's what matters. Noah's social worker arrives and they fill her in before she goes to see Noah. Lily promises Damian everything will work out and leaves to talk to the doctors. Meg returns and threatens to tell Lily the truth today. She can see how tired he is and wishes she could take care of him. He leads her away.
Meg takes Damian back to his place and offers to give him a back rub. He'd rather have her call Officer Grady. She says that won't work and promises that she will never turn her back on him. She backs him against the wall, locks the door, and asks him to show her how much he appreciates her. They kiss and tear off their clothes.
Emotional Bender.
In the hall, Damian tells Lily that they should adopt Noah so they can have power of attorney and call the shots. Meg and Holden come out to tell them how dire things are. Lily explains their plan to adopt Noah. He runs off to take care of this. Holden thinks that Luke deserves to be heard about this and they should wait. Luke comes out and tells Holden to back off.
Meg follows Damian down the hall and warns him how hard this adoption would be for everyone. She asks him what will happen if the truth comes out about how he married Lily under false pretenses and brings up Officer Grady. He accuses her of trying to stop him from moving in with Lily. He thinks she is being petty. He returns to Luke and tells him the paperwork will be there soon. Bob comes back and says that the window of opportunity is closing. Damian explains that they are adopting Noah and gives their consent. Bob agrees to give the go ahead on the surgery.
