Jack returns to the farm and tells Janet she had no right to go to Margo behind his back! They argue and Jack storms out. Janet turns on Carly and asks if she is happy now! She leaves. Jack returns and asks if Carly is happy now. Carly says she wasn't trying to accomplish anything except to see him happy but Jack doesn't believe her. He tells Carly to butt out of his life!
Holden arrives at Metro just as Carly does. He has brochures and she agrees to help him. He compliments her outfit and she tells him to back off before she gets another lecture from Lily. Holden apologizes for that. Carly says she is used to defending herself and then says she should skip the party. Lily walks in and agrees with Holden. Lucinda and Brian arrive and Lucinda gets catty with Carly. "Pull in the claws, Mother," Lily says. Margo arrives and watches Meg for a moment. Then, she asks Meg for a truthful statement. Emily sees them and interrupts before Margo can get much farther. Margo walks off; Emily asks what is going on but Meg won't tell her. Emily decides this is about Paul, which only upsets Meg more. Jack and Janet arrive and the benefit gets underway. Holden and Lily play hosts for the event. Lucinda interrupts to announce that Worldwide is selling the land back to Emma for $1! This means all of the money raised can go toward the park; the crowd is thrilled. Holden takes center stage again to introduce Will Dailey, who sings for the crowd. Carly serves drinks to the crowd and watches Jack and Janet together. She watches Holden, too. Meanwhile, Margo keeps a close eye on Meg and Brian puts his arm around Lucinda. Lily offers to help Carly so Carly gives her a tray of champagne to distribute. Lily turns around and sees Dusty there! Lily can't believe it. Holden confronts Meg about why Dusty is there as Lucinda freaks out. "He's not supposed to be here," she whispers. Margo steps up and asks what is going on. Dusty tells her exactly what happened in the lighthouse and swears Meg is innocent. He says he swore Meg to secrecy. Emily sees him and is stunned. She follows as Margo hauls Dusty to jail. Holden convinces Lily to stay to help save the benefit but Lucinda leaves and so does Jack and Janet. Lily overhears Holden and Meg talking about Dusty and realizes they knew he was alive before tonight. Holden asks for her forgiveness. Will sings another song, requested by Holden for Lily. Lily asks Holden to dance. She can't stop thinking about Dusty, though.
Carly stops by the farm to see Jack. He asks why she turned him down and she says she had to. Carly is about to leave when Janet comes downstairs and gets the wrong idea. Carly leaves. Jack brings up the Metro benefit and she thinks he is taking Carly. Jack tells her to shut up and listen. He asks her to go with him! She is thrilled. Margo calls and tells him to come to the police station. Jack leaves. Janet realizes she has to go shopping for a great outfit.
Janet goes to Carly's and asks what she and Jack were talking about. Carly plays dumb. Janet says Jack asked her to attend the benefit with him and thinks Carly talked Jack into it! Carly admits she suggested it but says Jack wouldn't have asked her if he didn't want to go with her. Janet tells Carly to stop playing games because Jack will always go back to her. Carly says she doesn't want Jack! Janet isn't sure she should believe Carly but asks for Carly's dress-up advice anyway. Carly says she has the perfect outfit. Janet goes upstairs with one of Carly's dresses. She returns as Lily arrives. "Aren't you two the cozy pair?" Lily snipes. Carly tells Lily to give it a rest and Janet goes back upstairs. Lily asks if Carly is trying to keep Janet's guard down so she can steal Jack away from her - just like she stole Holden from Lily! Carly refuses to answer and Lily gives her a backhanded apology. She says she is sorry for how she acted the day before, too, but after the way she attacked Carly when she arrived, Carly isn't sure whether to believe her. She says her biggest regret is losing her best friend and she hopes they can be friends again. Lily turns away and thanks Carly for hosting the benefit. Carly says she is happy to do it and says she hopes it goes well. Lily says Carly should go; she agrees to think about it. Janet comes back downstairs and asks how things are; she says it seemed like they were close to a breakthrough. She brings up the dress and says she'll have the last minute alterations done before the benefit. Janet hugs her in thanks and leaves.
Jack goes to Carly's and asks about Janet.
Carly gets to Jack's hospital room and helps him get dressed. Jack caresses her arm and says he can't stop thinking about her. He says he still needs her! Carly says she only did what any other friend would do; Jack says she did a lot more than a friend would do. "How do you always find me when I'm so completely lost?" he asks. She says he is her truth north and he laughs. He says they should stop fighting their connection and try again! Carly stops him and reminds him of the past but he has already thought of that. Carly tearfully says there is too much in their past for them to try again.
Janet is working at the apartment when Liberty walks in. Janet admits that she misses Jack but says she can't push. Liberty doesn't understand until Janet explains that Jack and Carly have a deep connection that he can't let go of. Libs reminds Janet that 'deep connections' haven't stopped her before; Janet says she has grown up. To distract them both she suggests a mani-pedi party. A while later Carly calls to tell her about Jack. Janet grabs her things, tells Liberty they'll have a mani-pedi day some other time and leaves.
Carly goes to the docks to leave and runs into Holden. She tells him about Jack and James. Janet arrives and Carly sends her in the right direction to find Jack. "You are exactly what Jack needs right now," Carly says!
Carly, Meg and Holden return to Oakdale. Holden tells Meg to stay home but Meg insists on going to the hospital to see Paul, even though he is under a no visitors rule because of his breakdown. She leaves. Carly tells Holden about what happened with Jack on the island.
Lucinda, Luke, Brian and Lily are going over the final benefit preparations at Metro when Carly and Holden walk in. Lily goes straight to Carly and asks what she is doing there! Holden tells Lily this isn't what she thinks. Noah and Luke leave. Lily turns on Carly again but Holden won't let her get started. He tells her about James and the search for Meg and Jack's injury. Lily wonders why Carly isn't with Jack. Holden says they can fight outside. Lucinda introduces Carly and Brian. Lucinda pushes Carly's buttons and she goes behind the bar. Brian calls Lucinda on her actions. Lucinda says she is just worried about Lily. Brian says falling in love is a risky business. Lucinda talks about her years of experience in love. Brian says she may be wiser but she's certainly not older! Lucinda is charmed; Brian says that is the point!
