Thursday, October 16 2008

Carly returns home with food. Parker asks if she has the design and she tells him it is in her room. He goes upstairs to get it while Carly unpacks their dinner from Al's. Parker returns and shows her Jack's watch, which was on her bedside table. Carly says Jack is in and out all the time; he asks if they are getting back together! Carly says they aren't getting back together. Parker goes upstairs. Janet arrives and demands answers from Carly about Jack; Carly says there is nothing going on. Janet brings up the other day and asks why Carly is trying to hurt her! Carly angrily says Janet should ask Jack for answers and says she was trying to protect Janet. She tells Janet to back off. "But you want him and he wants you and I want him!" Janet yells. She sits down, frustrated and asks how to get Jack out of her system. Carly doesn't know how and apologizes, saying she thought all of those old feelings were gone. "I saw him and all those feelings came flooding back. Surprise!" Carly says sadly. She tells Janet that she isn't good for Jack but Janet is. Janet sadly says she wanted a friend to go along with her boyfriend but she missed the connection between them. Carly tells Janet about Jack's marriage to Katie and how she ruined things. "I saw you as a second chance for him and for me to make it up to him," Carly says. Janet says she doesn't want that. With tears in her eyes, Carly says Janet is good for Jack. Janet says she is going to handle Jack her way and won't turn to Carly any longer. "If you want to go after Jack, go for it, but stay out of my business," Janet says and leaves.

Jack is at the farm when Parker walks in with his watch. He asks what Jack is doing with Carly and Janet. Jack says he is with Janet but says he doesn't know what is going on with Carly. "Maybe you should find out," Parker says. Carly walks in and Parker leaves. They talk about Janet. Jack says they have to figure things out; Carly says he has to give Janet the chance to mean something to him. Jack hugs her; Carly says they have to stop before someone is hurt but Jack won't let her go. Carly pulls away and tells Jack that he has to decide who he wants to be with. Jack isn't sure what to do. Carly says if they do try again they have to make it work and they have to be sure. Jack says there are no certainties. "So we're not together," Carly whispers; Jack whispers the same thing. Carly leaves.

Old Love Never Dies...

Tuesday, October 14 2008

Carly is talking to Sage at home. Sage brings up Jack and Janet, saying she heard Parker talking about their break up. Just then Janet calls and begs Carly for advice on Jack. Vienna grabs Janet and marches her back inside. Janet tells Vienna everything; she doesn't understand why Jack should be upset and Henry agrees. They believe Jack should be happy to have his job back. Janet says Carly is helping her but Vienna and Henry poo-poo Carly's help, saying that won't happen. She convinces Henry to help her get Jack and Janet back together!

Jack is at Java when Carly calls and asks him to stop by to tell Sage goodbye; he says he'll be right there.

Jack hugs Sage, who suggests that he spend the night with Carly to keep her company! Sage's ride arrives and she leaves. Jack goes back inside and asks what is going on; Carly says Sage hasn't given up on them because Parker told her that his relationship with Janet is over. Carly tells Jack to give Janet another chance; Jack can't believe Janet called Carly again and tells her to stop pretending! He says she isn't really helping Janet but Carly insists she is. She asks about his plans for the day and Jack makes up a story; she realizes he is just headed for the movies. He leaves.

Jack arrives at the movie theater and Carly is right behind him. They sit down together; after a while, Carly dares him to come with her. She leaves and he follows. They walk to the pond. Jack asks how she knew he was in trouble on the island; she says she just did. He asks about Holden but Carly can't explain why she was attracted to him. Jack brings up their relationship but Carly says they are over. He asks for how long. She shoves him in the water and says, "My lifeguarding days are over."

Jack follows Carly home, soaking wet. Carly helps him undress and they begin to make love. Janet arrives and Carly tries to get rid of her but Janet just keeps talking to her about Jack, Henry and Vienna. Carly finally can't take it and runs back upstairs. She tells Jack that Janet is there and then says if she tells Janet he is there, it will finally be over for them. Jack stops her at the door. "I have my answer," she says and returns downstairs. Janet asks if Jack is upstairs! Carly says she was just getting ready to take a bath. Janet sadly leaves. Jack comes downstairs and Carly tells him she is done lying. He sees the pie on the coffee table and asks if this is what she wants. "It is now," she says. Jack leaves. Carly thinks about her life.

The Truth Is Out There!

Tuesday, October 07 2008

At home, Carly gets Sage ready for a day of apple picking. Sage asks about Jack and Janet - and offers to help Carly break them up! Carly sits Sage down and tells her that she has to let Jack get on with his life. Sage doesn't want anyone to take her place in Jack's life; Carly assures her that Janet will never change the way Jack feels about her. Sage agrees to give Janet a chance.

Jack arrives at the apple farm as Carly and Sage are picking apples. Sage is thrilled that he is there; Jack sends her off to a special tree. Carly says he has to tell Sage that he isn't a cop soon. He says he wants to concentrate on the apple picking today. Jack says he is concentrating on seeing more in life than police work. Carly says he was born to be a cop and should admit it. As they are picking fruit, Jack says he isn't sure how to function without police work. Carly tells him to go to Margo and ask for his job back but Jack won't because that will implicate Janet and Brad in what he did. Sage throws an apple at Jack and then says it has a spider on it; Jack tosses it to Carly, who laughs. Jack tries to get the apple from her but she won't give it up. Sage smiles at her matchmaking skills. She runs off to get her dance bag. Jack picks up Carly's basket and they leave.

Janet goes to the farm, looking for Jack, and is surprised when he walks in the door with Sage and Carly. Jack helps Sage finish unloading the car. Janet asks Carly what is going on with their cozy picture and won't let the subject drop when Carly says nothing is going on. Carly insists she isn't after Jack but Janet doesn't believe her. Angry, Carly says they were only together because of Sage and tells Janet to get a grip. Jack walks in and Carly storms out. He asks Janet what happened but Margo calls before she can answer. She asks him to come downtown. He tells Janet, who is excited and encourages him. She says she'll wait there until he gets back. Carly returns a short time later and apologizes to Janet. She gives Janet some seasonings as a peace offering and says she overreacted. Janet apologizes, too, and they bake together.
