Lily and Carly have drinks at The Lakeview and Carly tells her everything – from the island to the proposal she interrupted and the kids' actions. Lily tells Carly about Lucinda's latest actions and says their relationship is over. She says she is worried about Lucinda, though, and wonders what is going on. Lily orders another round. They talk some more and Carly asks if they are getting their friendship back. "Maybe," Lily says. Carly says she can wait.
At the farm, Carly arrives with Sage. Sage doesn't want to visit Janet and Jack and doesn't want to trick-or-treat with them either but Carly makes her go inside. Janet tries to get Sage interested in the candies she has made but Sage pouts. Janet tells her about Liberty's pirate costume and tells Sage she can wear it; Sage doesn't want to but Carly makes her try it on. With Sage out of the room, Jack says she is picking up on Carly's real attitude – that she doesn't want him to get married! Carly says she is fine with everything. Sage returns but doesn't like the outfit; Carly says she looks nice. Parker arrives and when Sage refuses to trick-or-treat with Janet he takes her outside. He tells her about Janet's ex and says if they work together they can break up Jack and Janet. Sage says she'll go with Janet. When they are gone, Carly and Jack ask what Parker is up to; he says he is just doing the right thing. He goes upstairs. Alone, Jack worries about the kids. Carly says they are just trying to find their footing again; he hopes they'll be happy soon.
In the hall, Sage calls Carly and says she wants to come home – because Janet is drinking with a strange man! Sage pretends to be very upset; Carly is livid. She hangs up, tells Jack that Janet is drinking and has left Sage alone. Jack defends Janet and calls her while Carly searches for her keys. Janet doesn't answer but he still believes in her. They leave the farm.
Jack and Carly arrive at The Lakeview and Sage says Janet abandoned her! Jack, Carly and Sage walk into the bar and see Janet hugging George! Janet tells them what happened but Sage says Janet abandoned her. Carly sides with Sage but Jack says they should talk about it somewhere else.
Carly goes home with Sage who is confident that Janet and Jack are off. Carly says Jack and Janet are still getting married and tells Sage that her story doesn't add up. Sage says she doesn't want Jack to marry Janet. Carly sends Sage to her room and doesn't let her go trick-or-treating. Parker returns and says the dance was lame. He goes upstairs. Carly wonders what is going on.
Jack and Janet get back to her apartment and he asks about the man. Janet says he is her ex-boyfriend and she was shocked to see him. She says he was a mistake – a married man – and it is over. She swears it was an accident but Jack is upset that she took Sage to the hotel. Janet insists Sage wanted to go to The Lakeview. He says her past isn't far enough in the past. "At least my past isn't five minutes away, butting her head into my business every day," she says. Just then Carly calls. She tells Jack that he has to come over or he'll lose his kids! Jack leaves. "I rest my case," Janet says. Liberty comes home and Janet tells her everything. Liberty knows what happened and says she'll fix this!
At Carly's, she tells Jack that the kids must have engineered the whole trick-or-treating, George thing. He wonders why the kids are having such a hard time accepting Janet. Carly says he has to postpone the wedding for the kids' sake! Jack doesn't want to but says she might be right. Listening at the door, Parker and Sage bump fists.
Jack and Janet arrive at Carly's with Liberty. Parker and Sage are there, too, and Liberty takes the kids outside while Jack and Janet break their engagement news. Carly is shocked but covers well. They bring the kids inside but Liberty has already told them. Parker isn't thrilled and drags Liberty back outside. Janet tries talking to Sage but the girl won't talk. When Carly comes in with lemonade, Sage asks how she could let this happen! Janet cleans up while Jack and Carly sit down with Sage. They reassure her that they love her but Jack says he loves Janet now. He asks her to give the other woman a chance; Carly agrees. She points out that Sage will have Liberty to help balance out the boys' power. She tells Sage to help Janet in the kitchen. Jack thanks Carly for helping him.
Jack returns to Carly's with Parker, drops him off and leaves. Carly asks if they can talk but Parker won't. He goes upstairs. Carly tries to get Sage interested in games or talking but she won't talk, either. Carly tells Sage she has to be realistic. Sage looks in her hand – she has the wedding ring! She asks what would happen if Janet made Jack really mad. Carly offers Sage cookies and says she has to get used to Janet. "We'll see," Sage says and looks at her hand. Carly asks what she has and Sage shows her Janet's ring. Carly can't believe Sage kept the ring and says this won't work.
Janet takes Liberty home and reassures her that the relationship with Parker doesn't have to be weird. Liberty is relieved when Janet says they'll come up with a separate bathroom schedule. They talk about the wedding and then Liberty realizes Janet's ring is missing! They are searching when Jack arrives; Janet calls this an omen. Jack says it doesn't mean anything and promises they'll find the ring. Carly arrives and covers for Sage, saying the ring was in the kitchen glove. She turns to go but then watches as Jack places the ring on Janet's finger again. Carly leaves. Jack apologizes for Parker and Sage's reactions tonight; she says it is understandable.
