Barbara arrives at Paul's where Alison is overseeing Mick giving Emily her injection. Paul ushers his wife out to finish some Christmas shopping. As Alison helps prepare things for Mick, she asks him why he changed his mind about having her assist him. He decided he should try to reassure Paul. Barbara asks Alison to give them a moment alone. When she's gone, Barbara asks Mick for the truth about the signet ring she found in his room with the initials 'JS'. He claims that he got it from a street vendor in Bolivia. She says this is too much of a coincidence. When Mick's back is turned, she grabs his room key and pockets it.
Barbara sneaks back into Mick's room and searches around. She discovers a box full of letters she wrote to James. She reads one over and wonders how Mick could have this. Barbara grabs one of his glasses and puts it in her purse.
Barbara does her makeup and goes to see Mick at the hotel. When she walks into his room, he yells at her for coming in without knocking. "What's on your hands? Is that blood?" she asks. He says it's not and apologizes for overreacting. She tells him that she is looking for another injection. He prepares the formula and she talks about how mysterious and temperamental he is.
Henry goes to his room and finds Maddie there. Barbara arrives. Henry tries to make his sister stay but she leaves. Barbara invites Henry to a picnic. She claims that she is only there to give him a peace offering. "You look remarkable," he tells her, suggesting she looks half her age. She blows him a kiss and leaves. Brad pops up and tells him that Simon has just been arrested. Henry thinks this is bad since he was actually helping Katie. "I'm what's best for her Henry," Brad insists.
Upstairs, Barbara talks a maid into letting her into Mick's room to leave a gift for him. She looks for a pen to write a note and discovers a ring with the initials "JS" on it.
Henry is wandering the halls of the Lakeview, looking around for Brad when Barbara surprises him. She asks him if he has an imaginary friend and pulls him inside her room. After making him a drink, she tells him he needs to release some tension and begins massaging him. There's a knock at the door. It's Mick. He recognizes Henry from TV. Henry runs. "Bad timing?" Mick asks Barbara. He takes out his needles and potions. She doesn't think they look safe. He's sure she wants what they will provide for her and begins dropping hints about what he knows about her. When he brings up James, she gets paranoid. He claims he does his homework and vetted her. She thinks he knows a little too much about her and accuses him of taking her son and his money for a ride. After she orders him out, he nearly collapses in the hall.
Barbara goes to see Henry in his room and invites him to dinner. He says that's 'too heavy' for them, plus she's his brother's mother and he's a mess. Barbara leaves in a huff, assuming this is about her being old.
Mick goes to Barbara's room. She tells him she's willing to have the injection. He assumes this is because of Henry and tells her that when she was his age, a woman with her beauty wouldn't have given Henry the time of day. "You say that as if you were there," she comments.
At the Lakeview, Paul is having second thoughts about backing Mick's venture but Emily is excited. Mick walks over, bumping into Barbara on the way. He tells her that her son has decided to fund his project. He asks her if she'd like to 'enhance' her life. As he chats about the project, she pushes past him to confront her son. Emily defends the plan but Barbara thinks their brains are malfunctioning. Mick walks over and offers to demonstrate the effects of his research for Barbara.
Mick takes them into a conference room. He offers to put some of the solution on Barbara. She's skeptical but lets him smear it on her skin as he explains they are thinking of making it injectable. They need to do a volunteer clinic trial before they can go forward. Mick promises Barbara that cell rejuvenation would benefit her in her battle with cancer. Emily offers to volunteer for a study. Paul doesn't want his family used as guinea pigs and drags Emily out. Mick suggests to Barbara that older women want to look younger and have younger lovers. Barbs is offended. Mick's nose starts bleeding and he runs off. Emily and Paul return. He thinks Mick is a 'weirdo'. Emily bickers with Paul and Barbara says she will let Mick use her in the study so she can keep an eye on him. "If this Mick turns out to be full of it, I'll have his head on a platter," she says.
