At the Lakeview, Paul is having second thoughts about backing Mick's venture but Emily is excited. Mick walks over, bumping into Barbara on the way. He tells her that her son has decided to fund his project. He asks her if she'd like to 'enhance' her life. As he chats about the project, she pushes past him to confront her son. Emily defends the plan but Barbara thinks their brains are malfunctioning. Mick walks over and offers to demonstrate the effects of his research for Barbara.
Mick takes them into a conference room. He offers to put some of the solution on Barbara. She's skeptical but lets him smear it on her skin as he explains they are thinking of making it injectable. They need to do a volunteer clinic trial before they can go forward. Mick promises Barbara that cell rejuvenation would benefit her in her battle with cancer. Emily offers to volunteer for a study. Paul doesn't want his family used as guinea pigs and drags Emily out. Mick suggests to Barbara that older women want to look younger and have younger lovers. Barbs is offended. Mick's nose starts bleeding and he runs off. Emily and Paul return. He thinks Mick is a 'weirdo'. Emily bickers with Paul and Barbara says she will let Mick use her in the study so she can keep an eye on him. "If this Mick turns out to be full of it, I'll have his head on a platter," she says.
"I can't go to jail. The entire prison population knows I'm Geneva Swift!" Henry tells himself at the station. Barbara arrives with a proposition for him – she wants to bail him out, but it will cost him a dinner. Before they can agree, a cop comes in and explains that his bail has already been paid. They're baffled. Katie walks in. She paid it. Henry tells Barbra he's going to have to take a rain check on their dinner. After she leaves, Katie is about to go, but she stops to tell him that she might believe that he can actually see Brad.
Margo sits with Barbara in the bar and they talk about bailing people out. Margo is annoyed when she learns her sister bailed Henry out. Barbara talks about how Audrey deserves all the blame for this, not Henry. Margo guesses that Barbara must have a thing for Henry. Barbara claims that she is just trying to look out for him, but her fantasies about tearing off his shirt say something else.
Henry tells Barbara that he's afraid he may have lost Katie as well as Brad. He'd set up a trust fund or scholarship for the kid but he gave all his money to his mother. Barbara says that she got all the money back. She explains that James' second will wasn't legal and the money is actually Paul's. Henry's afraid he's going to be paying for his mistake for the rest of his life. She tells him that there are far worse people than him, like his parents, and he didn't fire the shot that killed Brad.
Barbara finds Henry at the bar and takes his hand.
Barbara tells Dusty that Brad is dead. He asks if they've got Ralph yet and admits that he's had run-ins with him in the past. She suggests he talk to Margo. Dusty won't deal with the police.
Liberty and Parker go to see Paul and Emily. The couple apologizes and offers to back off from pressuring her. "There's no baby. I lost it," Liberty explains. Emily tells her not to blame herself. Liberty says that they will be amazing parents someday. As Parker drives her home, Emily cries to Paul. She blames herself because she thought that this baby could stop the pain of losing Jennifer. He tells her that they can still have a baby. Emily can't deal with this and runs off. As Paul turns around, his mother runs in with the bag of money Audrey left behind. "One door closes and another opens," Barbara says. Paul thinks that's cold, even for her, and tells her to go. As they argue, Emily returns. Barbara tells her they need to start working together. She tells Emily that Brad is dead. Emily notices the heap of money and Barbara asks her to feel the power it has and think of all the good she could do with it. Paul orders his mother to get out. After Barbara leaves, Paul throws the money in the fireplace. Before he can light it up, Emily blows out the match. Burning the money would be pointless, she insists. The money isn't cursed, only James was. "If you don't take risks, you never love," she tells him. She can't say 'no' to love when she has him. They could use the money to have a family. "Anything is possible," Paul says. They kiss.
At the station, Margo calls her cop and orders him to keep following Audrey. Barbara storms in and demands some answers. Margo explains what's been going on and claims that only Audrey can lead her to the man responsible for all of this. Barbara is insistent that Audrey pay for what she did to her. "Don't get in my way. I will come after you," Margo warns her.
Barbara catches Audrey kissing the check on the street. Barbara swipes it away and they wrestle for it on the lawn. When Audrey snatches it back, she says she deserves it more than her because she actually made James Stenbeck happy. "I hate goodbyes," Audrey says, running off. "Too bad there won't be one," Barbara shoots back. Audrey drives off. She has to stop to get gas. When she goes in to pay, Margo and Barbara drive up. Audrey spots them and runs out the back. "Farewell my lovelies," she bids as she runs through the trees.
