Dusty tracks Teri down at Metro. He reminds her that she is supposed to be at the courthouse testifying against Ralph. She's too afraid and shows him a threat that her uncle sent her. He advises her to take it to the police. Teri thinks that would pose too much of a risk to her family. "I thought you were braver than this!" he says.
Dusty sits down with Janet on the street. He can see she's upset and says they need to talk about her sister. Janet doesn't see what good any of this will do but Dusty thinks Teri needs a talking to.
Dusty and Janet go to the courthouse to see Teri. She admits that she's been a sucker to and wants to offer her support. "He comes after one Ciccone girl, he comes after all of us," she says. Teri thanks Dusty for bringing her sister. The sisters go in.
That Was Fun.
Liberty goes into Yo's with her fake ID and tries to order a drink. The bartender tells 'jailbait' to get lost. He threatens to call the police when Dusty walks in and says that she's with him. He offers to take her home. She complains about the essay she's supposed to write and how she has nothing to write about. He suggests she write about losing Brad and how it has changed her.
Dusty brings Liberty home and she confesses what just happened at the bar to her mother. Janet doesn't even know what to say. Liberty goes up to her room and Janet tells Dusty that her life is 'broken'. Brad is gone, Liberty's baby is dead and Jack is missing. He gives her a hug and offers to help. She tells him that she's used to taking care of herself and thanks him for helping Liberty. When he leaves, she goes inside and finds Liberty at work on her essay. When she's done, she reads it to her mother. It's all about everything she lost over the summer and how college gives her hope. Janet weeps and hugs her. Janet is proud.
Teri runs into Dusty at the hotel. They've both received subpoenas to testify against Ralph. She hands him a casserole as a peace offering and apologizes for being awful. He thanks her and offers to let her watch him eat. She thinks he's going to make himself sick eating a meal for six people in one sitting. When she tells him there is fennel in it, he breaks the news that he's allergic to it. They rush to his room and she grabs his needle and stabs him in the thigh. "That was fun," he gasps.
Bring me Back From The Dead.
Teri runs into Dusty in the street. She tries to avoid him but he says she should be kissing his feet for saving her life. She flounces off to the diner. Her sister meets her and they talk about Liberty. Janet begins laying into her and blaming everything that has happened on her. Teri points out that she isn't the only one who was fooled by Ralph. Janet claims she was only fooled for half a second. Dusty walks in and says that this wasn't Teri's fault. "I thought you were supposed to be the nice sister," he says. Janet calms down as her sister leaves. She tells him that her first love is dead and Jack has run away. He doesn't think Jack will stay away and advises her not to disown her sister.
Dusty follows Teri back to Metro. She tells him he was right about Ralph. He offers to talk if it will make her feel better. She makes him a drink and beats herself up. Dusty reassures her and then leaves.
I'm Free! What's Stopping Me?
Dusty is with Ralph. He explains what the getaway plan is. As Ralph cleans his face, Dusty makes a call to Margo to tip her off. Ralph catches him with his phone and threatens him but Dusty talks his way out of it. As they go out, trick or treaters come to the door. Dusty offers to write them a check.
Teri runs to Margo and tells her about what happened with Ralph. Margo tells her to stay out of this. Ralph and Dusty come out of the elevator. Margo whips out her gun. Dusty runs at Teri and tackles her to the floor. Ralph grabs someone as they walk by and uses them as a shield. As he runs off, Margo runs after him. Teri pushes Dusty off of her and asks him what he's doing. She just wanted to help make amends. She hyperventilates into a paper bag and then argues with Dusty.
