Casey Breaks Into the Cottage

Emily arrives at the hospital and Susan fills her in on the e-coli breakout, but Emily cuts her short and asks if she's heard from Allison recently. Susan reveals that she hasn't heard from Alison since she broke up with Aaron and moved to L.A.

A little while later, Susan comes in to check on Ethan and reports that Ethan is getting better. When Lily asks about the other babies, Susan refuses to breech the patients' privacy.

"I'm not asking you to breech people's privacy. I feel responsible. I told the other people the food was safe and it wasn't," Lily replies.
"But you didn't mean any harm," Susan comforts.
"Can you at least tell me if any of the children have died?" Lily asks fighting back tears. "None have died," Susan whispers.
"I can tell by the looks on their faces… that the news isn't good. Those babies are worse off than Ethan."
"Listen, I'll -- uh -- check in with you later," Susan promises.

Oakdale Baby Crisis

At WorldWide, Emily comes out of the office and Susan comments on her outfit. After Dusty excuses himself, Susan demands to know why Emily is dressed like a prostitute. She lets her know she's working undercover on a story. She wonders if Dusty knows, and Emily confirms that he does. With that said Susan bursts into Dusty's office and confronts him about letting Emily work undercover as a prostitute! Emily orders Susan to stop and tells her it was her decision and not Dusty's. Susan beeper goes off interrupting their conversation.

Back at the hospital, Susan enters Ethan's room to notify Holden that more tests have been ordered. After she leaves, Holden stares at his son and cries.

Will Pays Iris to Keep her Mouth Shut

After he leaves, in a fit of anger she picks up a stack of papers and tosses them at the door! Seconds later, Susan comes in and notices that Emily has been crying. She wonders if she and Dusty had a fight, but Emily ignores her question, so Susan tells her that Daniel called and said he's not coming home for spring break. She goes on to say Tom already approved it.

Later on, Susan leaves and Emily makes a phone call to a client. Once she hangs up the phone, she grabs her make-up from her purse and applies it to her face.

Meanwhile, outside the office, Dusty approaches Susan. He knows something's wrong and offers to help. Thrown by Emily’s arrogant attitude toward Daniel’s absence, she takes him up on his offer, to see if he can find out what's going on with Emily. However, he says he has to stay out of that one, because Emily's already made it clear to him that she can take care of herself. "But you've noticed something. What else do you know? Tell me, please." Susan replies. Before he can answer, Emily comes out of the office all dressed up and surprised to see that Susan and Dusty are still there.

The sleuths get to work!

Emily meets a handsome stranger at the Avalon, who says he has time to kill between meetings and wants a date. Emily flirts with him and promises to give him an excellent workout. She hears Susan's voice behind her and jumps out of her skin. Susan asks what she's doing there as Emily hurriedly takes her over to a table. She asks her to wait a moment while she promises to meet the handsome stranger in his room. She takes his room key from him and wanders back over to her mother.
Emily finds out that Susan is there for a seminar and lies to her mom that she's there to get coffee. She prattles on about how the Lakeview's coffee isn't the greatest but Susan stops her dead in her tracks. She overheard the conversation and demands to know why Emily is there. Emily lies to Susan, and makes up a story about the man being a Karate instructor and that she is planning to take his class and interview him for a piece at work. Susan calms down and confesses how worried she is about her, since the last date. She sighs and as a concerned mom, she admits that she's also worried about Alison. She lets the cat out of the bag. Alison broke up with her boyfriend, Aaron and is living in L.A.! Emily is surprised and feels like a terrible sister. "I've got to call her," she says. Susan doubts that she'll get a hold of her sister and comments that she's never home. Suddenly she looks at the time and dashes out for her seminar.

Physically Abused

After she escapes, Susan arrives. She's stunned to find Emily bleeding and her clothes torn. She asks Emily if she was raped, but Emily states she wasn't. She offers to call the police, but Emily stops her. Susan continues to try to talk to her, and Emily confesses to going to a hotel room with a man. Susan expresses her concern then tries to help her, but Emily tells her not to touch her. Susan leaves, but immediately phones Dusty and gives him the news.

Maddie Types an E-mail From Adam

In another booth at Al's, Dusty phones Emily again and leaves a message. After he hangs up, Susan joins him and thanks him for helping Emily. He isn't sure Emily's interested in the paper anymore. Susan advises him not to give up on her, but he thinks she's given up on him. He continues by saying that if someone doesn't get through to her soon then she's going to lose her job.

Family Secrets

Emily and Susan arrive at Tom's to see Daniel off. Emily offers to take him to boarding school, but Tom says he doesn’t think it's a good idea. Susan suggests her and Tom go in the other room to give Emily and Daniel time to talk.
