The Marrying Kind!

Lily brings the girls to Fashions for some back to school clothes. Lisa tries to get rid of her but Lily won't leave. Carly walks out of one dressing room, upsetting Lily. She holds it together until the girls run off to find Sage - and then she tells Carly that Holden is free and clear! Carly is stunned but Lily insists that she is done with Holden and the papers are signed. She leaves. Lisa and Carly are stunned; Carly decides to buy the fancy dress she tried on. Lily calls Mike and they flirt by phone. She asks for a second try at their first date. He agrees. Faith overhears part of the conversation and questions Lily. "Are you trying to get back at Dad?" she asks. Lily tries to make Faith understand that she has to move on.

Cole Is Caught and Meg is Shot!

At The Lakeview, Cole tells Barbara that she has to come with him - or else! She tries to call his bluff but he brings up what he witnessed the night of Sofie's death. On their way to the lobby, Cole spots Paul and Meg and quickly hides. When they pass by, he and Babs continue on. Lisa sees them and asks what is going on! Barbara says they are friends. Lisa isn't sure she believes that. Cole takes Barbara to a hovel in a basement where he has been living! He looks for a pen as Barbara tries to make him mad. He says he wants the $100,000. Barbara tells him about the cancer and says she could die very quickly in the hovel - and then he won't get his money. Cole finds the pen and orders her to write a note to Paul demanding the money. She refuses to do it, angering him. She says she will only write the note and get the money if he gets her out of the hovel! Cole shoots a syringe into his veins and Barbara realizes he must have been the real killer! He tells her to write the letter but she still refuses. Cole decides to write the letter himself. He has trouble making the letter make sense because of the drugs. Barbara tries to keep him awake by saying they should just call Paul. Cole gets angry and says he isn't falling for her tricks! He says he'll make her pay - just like he made Sofie pay! He says Sofie was pregnant with his kid, held out on the money and he had to make her pay. He says he overheard her arguing with Meg, snuck into the room after Meg left and demanded his share. She threatened to call Paul and he drugged her! Babs is shocked. She says she'll do anything he wants but he has to untie her first! She writes the letter and then Cole reties her - and then leaves! When she is alone, Barbara works at loosening the ropes. She manages to untie herself but the doors are locked and she can't get out. She goes through Cole's things, finds his drugs and fills a syringe with morphine! She returns to the chair and pretends to still be tied. She coughs and says she can't breathe. Cole doesn't care. She begs for a drink of water and points out that he won't get the money if she is dead. When he turns away, Babs stabs him with the syringe. He grabs her but then falls backward.

Paul and Meg meet up at The Lakeview. Both have come to the conclusion that Cole has to be the baby's father and that Sofie fell under his spell again. Meg suggests that Cole was just as obsessed with Sofie as Sofie was obsessed with him. They go into Barbara's room - but she isn't there! They run into Lisa who tells them Barbara just left with Cole! She takes them to Barbara's room and rambles on about Cole hanging around lately and making a nuisance of himself. Inside, they see that Barbara's things are jumbled up!

I Can't Be That Woman!

Margo meets with a maid at Fairwinds. The woman says she ran into Paul the night Sofie was killed and that she heard Meg and Sofie arguing in her room a little bit before that. Margo questions Lisa next. Lisa admits that Sofie said Barbara threatened her; Lisa says she didn’t believe Sofie then and still doesn’t.

Caught In The Act!

Mike goes to The Lakeview and asks Lisa more questions about Sofie. Lisa tells him to back off because Sofie obviously just ran away. Mike doesn't believe her and goes upstairs. He sees a maid outside Sofie's door and asks about her last day. She says he should ask Paul! She says Sofie was just here one day and gone the next - and she didn't leave a tip. Mike tips her and leaves.

Barbara has drinks with Lisa at The Lakeview. She tells Babs about Mike's questions about Sofie and how he cornered one of the maids. She is worried about what he might be up to. Barbara doesn't like that at all.

Holiday Plans Go Awry!

Barbara arrives at The Lakeview. Lisa sees her and says Sofie has moved out! Lisa is concerned because it seems that Sofie just disappeared. Barbara tells Lisa not to worry because Sofie seems the sort to disappear whenever life gets a little rough. Lisa wonders if Barbara is the one who scared Sofie away. They continue on to Babs' suite; Lisa keeps questioning her about Sofie. The more she questions Babs, the more agitated Barbara becomes. She tells Lisa to leave! Lisa returns a few minutes later with a peace offering. Barbara invites her in and says Lisa was partially right - she would do anything to protect her kids. Lisa says they should be thankful that Sofie left town on her own.

Sofie's Dead!

At Margo and Tom's party, Chris arrives late - and drunk! Kim takes him outside as he rambles about lying on the stand and ruining his life. Kim can't believe how far Chris went. Chris says he didn't really harass Alison but he did stop defending her to Brenda. Kim says Chris should have told the truth but Chris says he couldn't face another disappointing look from Bob. Kim says Bob only wants the best from Chris and returns inside. She makes excuses for Chris, saying he wasn't feeling well. Lisa offers a toast to the couple, calling them an inspiration. Lisa gives them her gift - a photo album with pictures. Nancy joins in the fun, as do Casey and Daniel, as they look at the old pictures. Looking through the album, Tom and Margo remember the best times of their lives. They kiss. Tom reminds her of their wedding vows and they each make new promises to the other. Casey says they need new wedding photos and gathers the clan for a family picture.

Threatening Words!

In her hotel room, Sofie tells Cole they can't try blackmail again. She pushes the box farther under the desk but Cole notices. She says it is just a memory box and won't show him what is inside. He calls her a professional victim and she orders him to leave. He threatens to tell Paul the truth and Sofie stops him. She says he can have all the money he wants once she has Paul's ring on her finger. He says he wants a down-payment first. She pushes him out the door and says she'll call when she has some cash. Barbara arrives and tells Sofie to get lost and stay lost or she'll make sure she spends the rest of her life in prison! Sofie plays the victim again, begging Barbara to tell her why she hates her so much. Babs doesn't notice that Lisa has arrived! Lisa interrupts them and Sofie says Barbara is trying to control Paul's life. Babs sets Lisa straight. She then tells Sofie to watch her step! Lisa leaves. Barbara warns Sofie to keep her distance and then leaves, too.

Shut Up And Listen!

Back in Sofie's room, Paul hands her a bottle of water and a pregnancy test. He insists that she take it with the door open. She shows him the test, which is positive. Paul can't believe it. Sofie starts making plans but Paul refuses to believe the kid might be his! She says the baby can only be his; he accuses her of sleeping around. She swears she loves him and only him but Paul remains very cold and calls her crazy. She hands him champagne and Paul says nothing will change the fact that he doesn't love her and they have no future. Sofie refuses to hear what he is saying. She threatens to tell Meg! Paul warns Sofie to stay away from Meg. "I do not care what happens to you," he says. Lisa calls and Paul backtracks one more time. He says he'll pay for Sofie's room but Lisa has to keep this a secret.
