Missing Bonds

Friday, January 26 2007

Mike reads the letter from Simon. While reading the letter, the phone rings. He lets the machine pick it up. It's Katie wanting to know if he's there, but he just looks at the machine.

Katie arrives home and Mike shows her the letter. "Why didn't you tell me about this?" he asks. She says she's sorry and asks to explain, but he's tired of explanations. She says it's a goodbye letter, and she was saving it to show it to him. He says they have a big problem. "What is it?" "It's that I'm married to you, and I don't even know who you are," he says. He can't believe she wants to save the letter after what Simon has done to everyone! Again, she says she was saving it to show to him. She says she's tired of defending herself. "Great, great, we finally agree on something. We just can't do this anymore," he replies. She says they could burn the letter but it wouldn't be enough. He says he's not trying to say he hasn't made mistakes, but she keeps holding on to this fantasy with Simon as if it's some kind of love story. He goes on to say he wants her to be happy, but with him feeling the way he does she won't be happy with him. "I think what kills me is I end up hurting you more than he does," he finishes.

Back at Katie's, Mike comes downstairs with his bag. "So where you going?" she asks. "I'm just goin," he answers. "Just taking off like you use to, huh?" "Something like that," he replies. "Mike, don't give up on being happy. Don't give up on that just because of us… because of me." "We didn't work out. You're not the only one who made mistakes." "The only one who made mistakes and then publishes them," she laughs. "You blow me away," he laughs, then smiles. She fights back emotions as she kisses him goodbye. "Goodbye," he says softly. He walks out the door. She sits on the couch and cries softly to herself.

Taken Hostage

Thursday, January 25 2007

While going through the mail, Katie finds a letter from Simon! As soon as Mike goes outside, she opens the letter and begins reading. Simon says he's sorry, and wished they could have worked things out. He wishes her well with Mike, and says he's fine. Mike comes back inside. "Hey, what's that? Is it a letter?" She says no. The doorbell rings. It's Henry with a gift for Katie. Katie tells Mike to go on to the party; she says she'll be there in a little while.

Mike arrives at Tom and Margo's with the food. Margo asks where Katie is, and he says she'll be by later. After dropping the food off, he says he has to run because he's working on something for Katie. She says she's so glad they're back together. He says he'll be back in a little while.

Casey's phone rings. He takes the call outside. Its Elwood reminding Casey his parents are really angry now! He says if they don't get the money back in five minutes, they're going to call his parents. He says he'll meet with him. Elwood tells him to hurry. He says when his father gets like this there's no talking to him.

Back at Katie's, Mike's working on writing a letter to Katie, but he can't seem to come up with the right words. To help him out, he walks over to the bookshelf and grabs a book, but the letter from Simon falls out. As he picks it up, he remembers just asking her if she was reading a letter. He opens the letter and begins reading it.

Tom Returns Home

Monday, January 22 2007

At Katie's, Katie asks Mike if he's sure--deep down--that he's really forgiven her. "Of course I forgive you. I wouldn't be in this if I didn't," he answers. She brings up having a baby, but he says he thinks they should wait. She explains how lonely it was when she was little and didn't have a mom. He says life isn't perfect, and says she should have saw Jack after Carly left. "Is that what this is about? Do you think we're going to end up like Jack and Carly?" She goes on to say if that's what he thinks then he should just walk out the door. He says it isn't about Jack and Carly, it's making sure this is right. When she asks what he's trying to say, he says he loves her and this is where he wants to be, but it's going to be hard to have the same trust he had before. She asks how they'll know when the time is right. "We'll love each other the same everyday, and when the time is right we'll know," he replies.

At the Snyder farm, Brad calls Carly a lying, cheating tramp! When he sees it upset his brother, he says he gets it, Carly's off limits. He clarifies that she's not off limits. He just wants the kids to feel comfortable talking about her when ever they want, but he says they don't need somebody bashing her. He says he's not bashing her. He's just saying she hasn't changed much since. Jack asks when he thinks he's going to get back to his factory job. He says it depends on how much help he needs around there. He says he can take care of his own kids. "I get it, I get it, alright. You know, you feel like punching someone," Brad responds. "I feel like punching you actually." "Look, I'm not the one you're mad at. Carly's the one that checked out on you. I didn't dump three kids on you, she did." He says he's nuts if he thinks he can just show up and expect Emma to take care of him. He says he came to help with the kids. "I guess it can't hurt to have another pair of hands around here to help," Jack admits.

Soon after, they hear Vienna call out. She enters the room catching Brad's attention. After Jack introduces them, he tells her he thought she was going back to the prince, but she says he banished her from the kingdom. Brad says she can trust him, but Jack doesn't believe it’s a good idea. Brad says they can't throw her out with no place to go. She begs Jack to stay. He says if Emma says its okay she can. "I'm sure she would. I'm going to go upstairs and unpack," she replies, giving him a peck on the cheek. After she leaves, Brad comments on how her face can make a man's troubles disappear. "Or they can make them worse," Jack replies. "Hey, don't let one experience get you down. Not every woman turns out to be Carly." "How many times do I got to tell you to lay off of Carly. You had no trouble staying out of my life the last couple of years. Do me a favor… keep it that way," Jack shouts in anger.

Back and Margo and Tom's, Margo goes over to get some of her mad money. "Hey, it's gone," she says. Tom asks when she last seen it. She says before she took him to the hospital. He asks if anyone else has been there. They mention Jade, but Adam says he knows she didn't do it. Katie and Mike arrive. Casey says he hates to break up the party, but he needs to get back and study.

Later on, Tom and Mike chat in the kitchen. Meanwhile, in the living room, Margo hugs Katie thanking her for her help. She says she couldn't have gotten through this without out her. When she asks how things are with her and Mike, Katie says everything great, however, she's concerned because he doesn't want to talk about having a family. Margo reminds her that the last time they started talking about a family Simon showed up and things got a little "creepy." She says they're past that now. "Well, you're past it, but maybe Mike needs to know that he comes first now," she expresses.

As Mike and Tom join the women in the living room, Katie announces that they will be throwing Tom a welcome home party. After her announcement, her and Mike leave so she can get started planning the party.

Outside Tom and Margo's, Katie tells Mike she's going to start concentrating on them. "Really, you mean that." "Yeah, we don't need to get started on a family until we have each other," she replies with a kiss.
