Shouldn't Paul be wise to his father's foolishness? He's a scheming businessman himself running a multi-million dollar company come on this is too much. With his history with that loony bird, he should always have security available.

Like all sons he has always wanted his father to be proud of him but with James it is the other way around. James was determined to make him a true Stenbeck, evil to the core, from the beginning. James kept saying that he was trying to make Paul a man, he's been doing that for years. James won't see the man Paul is and Paul can't shake the shadow of a father who was never proud of him or respected him.

Paul does know who evil James is and throws him to the curb whenever he does show up, with Barbara's help and encouragment.
But deep down in Paul is always the fact that James, evil as he is, is his father and Paul never had a decent relationship with his father but is still trying to win James' approval.
The digging in the Snyder Farm was just as much about keeping Meg safe from Derek as it was for poor Paul to believe that for once the evil James was really trying to help him and finally showing him that he was proud of his son. Of course as usual it was all about James and his agenda and revenge is James' agenda.

Paul will get it, eventually, that he will never please James. I hope Meg can help with that and the baby. Paul needs to give up the slightest hope of ever pleasing James, bury his father and his father's ghost and move on with Meg. If he ever gets unmedicated and out of the hospital that is.

I think Paul is impulsive and finds himself in desperate situations. Act now, think later. So he needs to commit desperate acts. Even if its for James. And when it comes to meg well he just loses all ability to think rationally.

Paul was always trying to make James proud of him - the way he is, not what James expected Paul to be. This will never happen. James will never change.
I hope Paul finally realizes that this time and moves on with his life making Meg & the baby his primary focus in life.

Who is calling the shots where Paul's medical care is concerned? I thought the doctors had to get permission from the spouse before they performed any kind of treatment. And since when Can't a wife of husband see the other when their in the hospital? This just doesn't make any sense.

Did I miss something?
I don't remember seeing Paul hurt.
I thought he was okay so who is behind this?
Where is Barbara, I would think she would be with Meg.

Paul can't stop himself! He needs a Father's love, or w hatever you may call it, and can't just accept that his Father is an evil man.
