Quote keytonblows: Like I said before it's okay to be happy for gays but it's not okay to dislike them or be against what they stand for. There is such a huge double standard going on here it is almost impossible to put into words how people who voice any opposition to this gay storyline are treated. Your okay with what we say as long as it doesn't go against what you want. As soon as someone voices any opposition to you position on this gay story they are ridiculed from that point on. I feel bad for people like GRITS and Levander who try to inject a different point of view into the subject. They are automaticly deemed haters or gay bashers and all they are doing is voicing their opinion like you are yours. And for anyone who doesn't already know GRITS stands for Girls Raised In The South, I guess it's a southern thang.
Here is the real deal KB...You are allowed to voice your opinion, and it does NOT have to be the same as "ours". But you should (want) to voice your opinion in a respectful way. It should NOT be mean or hateful, words directed at a REAL person. Which is the case here. Please go back and read the first post. This is not asking you how you feel about gays in general, it is not asking you what you think the bible's stand is on this, it is not asking you anything. It was a REAL HUMAN BEING, telling you about his/her real life experience. Therefore calling it a crock is insinuating that this person is not being truthful, and all we are saying is that this particular thread not be judge in that way. It's called kindness, tolerence, and understanding. he/she is saying they can't change who they are no matter how much they might want to (or even if they don't want to) It is a part of who they are. If we were talking about being born missing a leg or something, would you really defend someone who said What a crock?? Yes I know that is apples and oranges, but the final point is the same, none of us has the right to decide what is truthful or right for another REAL person. If you don't like something, just say that. You don't need to use mean and hurtful words.Your morals and value do not play into someone elses

I didn't see a post from you in this thread that was edited. I am not the only mod on here. Kristi and Chrissi and other editor/mod/admins are the only ones that can actually delete posts.

I am a southern gal , I really get ticked when somone makes fun of the way we talk .I have a shirt that says girls raised in the south.
I was taught not to hate , what do you gain by putting people down ? Does it make you feel better by hurting people?

You call it putting people down, I call voicing my opinion and my opposition to a lifestyle. I was also taught not to hate but I guess it didn't take cause I still hate, I hate what we've evolved into as a society and I hate that my opinion is always precieved as wrong, I didn't know an opinion could be wrong.

Please define lifestyle. Is it different than sexual preference?

I am a middle age woman. Is that my lifestyle? Cause I seem to have an awful lot in common with people of other lifestyles.

Look, I don't care what you say as long as it does not break the guidelines on this board. You cannot insult (bash) a group or people or person who is gay just like you cannot bash because of race. What is so hard to understand?

First, I for one as a gay person would like to hear your opinion on how gay people have evolved society in any negative way. I'm really curious as to what you think I have done to make society a neagative place.
Second, I can understand being angry when your opinion is percieved as being wrong. Maybe when you post you can take that feeling into consideration in how you tell someone that their being alive is wrong.

I'm glad you asked that question Margolovestom. I would like to find out the answer to your question too. The rest of us , well except for a few are behind you all the way.
Some people are born to hate what they don't understand and they will never change.

Give up Keyton just give up. If you keep going they
are just going to keep ganging up on you and ganging up
until they break you. It's like the local pee wee team
taking on the Dallas Cowboys. I agree with you I don't
like the idea of gays but it's like trying to fight the
IRS or something. They are never gonna shut up about being
right and about you being wrong so why even try.

I think I see where this is going, you want me to lose my cool and give you a graphic description of what I call a gay lifestyle then I get kicked off the website. Not gonna happen, you know what I mean by lifestyle because I'm pretty sure your not a 1st grader. I never bashed the person who started this thread, I simple don't like gay people in general. You can single out a gay person if you wish, I'm not doing that. I'd be happy to list all the gay people I've heard of but that really wouldn't accomplish anything. Whether it is a character on tv or a real person if their gay I don't like 'em. It's my right to like or dislike who ever I wish, plenty of people dislike me and I accept that.

The point is if you were to say I just don't like black people, period; everyone would have a problem with that. If you were to say that about white people, hispanic- whatever people would be offended.

To say I don't agree with some of their actions is understandable, but to say I just don't like them because they're gay isn't nice at all. That's hurtful to an entire group of people that have done nothing to no one.

I don't give Jack Sh!t what you think about the gay lifestyle . I don't need to read your details about it either. What people do in their private life is no business of mine.
You can like or dislike anyone you please. I don't hate anyone. Some people I can't stand , but I don't hate them.

?) Is this a lifestyle board or a board about the Luke and Noah relationship????

I do not mind the storyline at all, I think it is being handled quite tastefully, both characters are being portrayed as ordinary people not the eccentric "gay" idea most people have, and isn't that what any difference really is whether you are different because of your skin color, your religion, your sexual prefernce or personal apperance the majority of people tend to look at anyone who is different from them through varing degrees of wrong, this story line is actually a pretty good look at a homosexual relationship in varing degrees of same. family pressures, acceptance issues, school, work etc all the things everyone experiences everyday.

I don't care if a gay person comes up with a cure for cancer, if a gay person pulled me out from in front of a speeding train I'd punch his lights out for putting his hands on me. I'm not a hypocrite here people, I equally dislike all gay people. You call it being hurtful I call it being honest, had you rather I lie to your face and talk about you behind your back? How about little credit for being honest forth coming?

I think we all agree we have different opinions about things. Makes the world go round! I also think we would be interested in why you have those opinions. The only problem anyone has as the way you approach it! You tend to get nasty and violent (punch lights out?) sounding. We are all for sharing opinions but not when it comes across nasty to a person or a group.
