It must be nice for you in your comfortable privileged heterosexual lives where no one is discriminating against you in housing, employment etc,and where no one is assualting or killing you just because of who you are. So when someone posts a message of hate under the guise of, "I'm just expressing my opinion and as long as no one calls names it's all good.", I have to ask how is stating that god did not create men and women to be homosexual not a message of hate dressed up as an innocous opinion? ...So yeah sit back in your comfy privileged life and say, "hey man my hands are clean. I'm just expressing another POV. All I'm doing is supporting someones right to say what they want. I'm just supporting that I'm not promoting hate or ignorance." I'm glad you're comfortable with that. So keep posting about how open minded you are and how everyone has the right to express an opinion regardless of its consequences, and us gays and lesbians will just keep sheding all the blood. How many times have I heard "I have no problem with gays -- as long as they don't flaunt it"? What they're saying is that they have no problem with gays as long as it is never mentioned, talked about or expressed in any way.
People are upset with my display of affection? Too effing bad.
But back to topic at hand. Luke should dump Noah and find himself a hot sex buddy. And they should kiss ALOT, all the time!

My reference to other POV's was in terms of misunderstanding what another poster was saying, not another POV on wether being gay is OK.

I have also asked, on other threads, if we would be allowed to discuss the topic so "openly" if this were an interracial storyline. You don't choose who you love any more than you choose your sexual orientation....would we be allowed to write things like "that is gross, whites belong with whites and blacks with blacks"?

I really don't know what more I can say. I certainly don't feel that I have anything to apologize for.

I'm not apologizing for anything I said , I don't care what people do with their lives , that is none of my concerns.
I'm like a lot of posters on this board , I have my own burdens to live with , I have a hubby who is in a wheel chair , I am on call 24/7 , I have a lot of friends on this board and I love to post along with them. I like to be nice to everyone.
When I said peace , I was just wanting to let everyone know that I was ready to move on , I judge no one .
I am sorry if it came across the wrong way. I'm an easy going , loving person , really , I like people no matter if they are gay or straight , doesn't matter , I treat people all the same way , with love and respect. I know that Uggerly is the same way.

I totally agree with you, and I've said the same thing serveral times but it is always taken as me bashing gays and that isn't the case. I don't approve of the lifestyle and I don't think for what ever reason man and woman were created that the gay lifestyle was one of them. I think as long as we don't call each other names there is nothing wrong with giving our opinion and disagreeing with one another.

I know Willow and Uggerly that we are from very different generations, but I don't believe that embracing ignorance and bigotry is actually peace. If you agree that homosexuality is immoral and unnatural then so be; just say so. Don't pretend to be one thing and then say something else. It's post and ignorance like that of keytonblows and hmm that make people think that they have the right to dicriminate against gay people, assualt them and kill them.

Just what do you want ? I don't hate or discriminate against anyone. Just because I don't like to see two men kissing doesn't make me judge if it's right or wrong . I don't like to hear or see a lot of violence , sex , cursing and foul language that is on TV . I can put up with it to a point , but the " F " word , I can't stand.
I can always change the channel . I am not the person you think I am.

Oh, I will admit to not liking people lol, but it has nothing to do with sexuality or color or anything like that. Just because someone is gay, doesn't give them a free pass to be my friend. I don't think I could be friends with a republican homosexual....too much of an oxymoron for me there. lol

I will also admit to being really mad earlier. I am calmed down a bit, but still don't regret my opinion on the post in question.

I wasn't talking about you Plot , I agree with what you said , just because someone is gay , doesn't mean if I don't like them , it's not because they are gay , some people just don't hit it off as friends.
If I meet someone that is foul mouthed , does that mean that I have to like them?

Or how someone "turned gay"
But the biggest thing that gets me is when people conclude that they can agree to disagree about issues that affect my life, my rights, and my safety! How nice for them.

Can't we stop beating a dead horse? We are talking in circles, I didn't take your post a part like you did mine .
I could care less if you are gay. I'm not out to put gays down , if I don't want to see two men or two women making out , that is my right. I don't care about seeing a man and a woman crawling all over each other either . So you can't say that I am not being fair.

For the record I am not Oldturn. He's a friend of mine and I live at his house so I use his computer and the message board gods decided that we must be the same person cause they couldn't understand that 2 people might use the same computer. They shut him down so he was gonna use my post, but gave up on the board altogether. So did I but had to show my support for margolovestom.
We're both sort of fed up. Remember, it's just a show. None of it matters. The writers can do whatever they want. Tomorrow Neal might turn out to be Dusty, or the dead girl is Sophie's long lost twin sister and the real Sophie is laffing her butt off.
Or biggest shocker - They'll put the gay boys on TWICE in one week!!

A lot of us posters thought Oldturn was a real nice guy , we will miss him. He was our dear friend.For the record , we respected him and enjoyed posting with him.

I have often wondered what would happen if two people used the same computer....Now I know and that really blows!

I can understand being fed up, I really can. ... I understand that the writers can do anything that they want and to an extent I get it (don't always like it, but I get it)

Well, I for one, don't really care for the married men and women who have affairs, and personally it disgusts me to see them kiss and have sex. It makes me vomit! (I'm being sarcastic to prove a point, btw) This happens FAR FAR more than Luke and Noah kissing, but that's never criticized is it? I wonder why? Maybe because some biggoted people out there would rather shout "wrong" to Luke and Noah kissing because they're gay, but have no problem with the adultery, fornication and murder that occurs in the show, because said acts are done by heterosexual characters. I doubt that any of you on this board support adultery, murder, rape and a lot of other things (if you do seek help), yet you choose to spend your time complaining about a gay couple in love...

I can't fathom how viewers would be more offended by ONE honest, monogamous, gay couple, than they would be by the numerous dishonest, adulterous hetero affairs and relationships, as well as the murder and conspiracy on the show. All of the accidental pre-marital and adulterous pregnancies and "fornication" of the hetero couples, versus Luke and Noah's celibate relationship... hmmm...
It just doesn't weigh out to me.
And to look at it from a religious POV, sure people say the Bible forbids homosexuality, but it also forbids adultery, lying, murder, pre-marital sex and many other things that occur frequently in this show. I would personally rather watch ONE relationship that only incorporates ONE of these "sins", as opposed to numerous relationships that incorporate ALL of them.
I think people should reevaluate the way they view things and the world, because it just doesn't make sense to me.

Basically, unless you're going to complain about ALL of the "immoral" activities going on in ATWT please just be quiet and don't single out the gay couple, because by doing so you're only making yourselves seem like bigots with warped views.
