You know, I've been wondering lately why TPTB can't just let some of the characters be single for awhile. I know we love our romances and it is a lot of fun to speculate about who is going to end up with who. But, as has been said before, there are only so many characters in Oakdale. And it gets tiresome seeing all the triangles and the switching partners within the family, etc. Sometimes it just makes my head spin! (I looked for a "spinning head" icon here, but couldn't find one, LOL)

When a couple breaks up, why not wait a little while and then pair him/her up with someone that makes sense? The last character they did that with that I remember was Henry. After Katie, he was single for quite awhile, had some great story lines with Maddie. Then when he and Vienna hooked up, it made sense and we all love them together.

Why can't they do that for some of our other characters, like Jack who is currently single? Wouldn't it be a good opportunity for character development, unique story lines?

I have been wondering the same thing...

But what fun would that be if they didn't have the drama of a relationship....

They could explore other kinds of relationships. Co-parenting, parent/child, friendships, boss/employee, etc. They could also focus on other kinds of story lines involving mysteries, adventures, business deals gone wrong, etc.

'Cause then they'd have to hire real writers with imagination. It's so much easier to just keep giving us the same old thing with new character combinations.
And if they wrote about something besides "romance" they might have to actually use some of the over-60s.

Yeah, what a wonder...Carly could actually be a working, single parent, lots of sl's could happen off that. Who is opening and closing Metro btw these last episodes. Write Aaron a sl involving Metro. Also, why is is beyond belief that an over 60 have a romantic relationship. I thought the sl, years ago, when Nancy husbands developed Alzeimer's was a great sl. I vaguely remember "daytime drama." Okay, I know its all about the youth but Barbara, Lisa, Lucinda, Susan, all those ladies are beautiful and could enjoy a romantic relationship, IMO. I loved the sl with Susan a few yrs back, also loved the actor, he was great, but unfortuantely they had to turn him into a "serial killer". In answer to your posed , I don't think there would be anything wrong with someone actually not having sex on their desk, betraying their best friend, cheating, sleeping with minors and relatives...Not a thing.

You are so right my friend , women and men can have a full life with out bed hopping all the time. Who has to have sex all the time anyway. Enough is enough , lay off the sex scenes for awhile . I would gladly give all of them up for some good story lines.
