As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

Is it me or does the entire cast seem to live at Emma's farm house these days. Holden, Lily, Faith, Jack, Parker, Brad, Henry, Vienna, Meg, Paul, Emma... Everytime I turn on the show there is somebody in that damn farm house!!! I can't remember the last time I saw Lily & Holden's beautiful house. And what ever happened to Katie's cute little cottage?? To me, the farm house epitomizes the boringness of the show lately.

I long for the days of James Stenback, Julia Lindsey and Rick Decker. The show used to be so good. These days, the characters just seem so average. I mean, I know Oakdale is supposed to be a small town, but the characters never seemed so ho-hum before. It seems like they're always making breakfast or rushing the kids off to school---if I wanted reality, I wouldn't be watching a soap opera!

And what is with ATWT bringing back certain characters and having them be completely different than I remember them. Adam, Alison, and Chris are not even remotely like they used to be. Alison was always strong-willed and a rebel, but she was also smart and very funny---not a freakin' porn star and meth addict! I don't even know what Chris' deal is! Whoever is writing for ATWT these days should be fired immediately. I haven't enjoyed watching ATWT in a very long time. The only character I like these days is Parker.

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SOPHIE! That girl should be shot! She reminds me of Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family because she's a total rain cloud. Give the girl a Paxil for God's sake. What are the writers thinking giving her screentime?!?

Oh, and one more thing---Vienna, more like a mediocre Mitzy.

i agree with you, as much as i love ATWT the characters have gone downhill. maybe james stenbeck should come back to town and shake things up. now those were the good old days, when he went one on one with lucinda, john dixon, or anyone who crossed his path.

I agree...I am totally sick of Emma's kitchen and I want to see the other sets also...talk about getting cheap...Bring back the good old days...

It seems that this has been the case since I started watching in September.

From what I have read it is budget cuts. While I love the farmhouse, you will notice that it and the Lakeview are ALWAYS on camera. The show has had to cut back on production staff and that means fewer sets. Notice how you never see the inside of the Walsh mansion or the Hughes home or Susan's home anymore? Same reason. I think it's pretty unrealistic, but if this keeps World Turns from going to that nasty handheld camera stuff that Guiding Light is doing (I can't even watch it anymore), then I'll grin and bear it.

Ditto. Why is Luke so clingy? Are all homos that way? Agree with the poster who commented on the writers. Need the old characters and format.

I agree that they need to move from the Lakeview, and Emma’s Farm house. I like that they are using Lily’s house a little more, Carly House and just the living room of Hughes’s home. Do not forget we do have the hospital and Emily’s office and the farm property now.
I like almost all the new people but love the old also. Ones to dump ASAP Sofie and Cole.

That is Lucindas place; if you recall it is the place Luke used to go to drink and with his first crush and got caught...this is when he was hiding the fact that he was gay...It is not Lily's mansion...I was wondering why she had to stay there...Lily's mansion was so much larger and this place looks tiny in comparison...no stairs...budget cuts are really narrowing down the town.

Yes I remember that...and apparently there was some redecorating done and that is how they get over about her living on Lucinda's estate...more homely and at least this way Lucinda gets more screen time because Lily is leaning on her more.

I prefer to think that what we see of Lily's house now is the family room and kitchen area we never saw before. Lucinda's guest house was larger and more windows. I always thougt it was a neat place. Sierra stayed there sometimes.
