Scott Bryce
—Victoria Arlak
ATWT's Original Craig Returns
Yes, it's true! ATWT has abruptly replaced Jeff Meek, who began playing Craig just five months ago, with the character's original portrayer, Scott Bryce, in a deal that took just days to put together. "I'm really excited; it's a great character," says Bryce, who debuted as Craig in 1982 and played him on and off until 1994. He reports that he was approached once during Hunt Block's 2000-2005 tenure, when that actor was in contract negotiations; he was unavailable when Meek was hired last September. (Bryce most recently played OLTL's Dr. Crosby on a recurring basis). Over the years, he only watched the show "occasionally, because I like to tune in and see what my friends are up to, but I was not a regular viewer because I'm working during the day," says Bryce, who works as an executive producer at Palace Digital Studios in CT. "We have a converted vaudeville theater here that has been turned into a three-camera television studio production company. I've been working there for the last four years as well as acting. The good news about all of this that I will be able to keep both jobs."

Bryce starts work today, March 5. His first scenes, he's delighted to report, are with Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda). "She and I have done so much fun stuff together," he says.

"We're very excited to have Scott Bryce back on AS THE WORLD TURNS. He brings with him an invaluable understanding of Craig and the character's rich history," said Executive Producer Christopher Goutman in a statement. Meek's last air date is April 2; Bryce first airs April 10. Check out the 3/20 issues of Digest and Weekly for more.

Although Craig isnt my favorite person, I really could not get into this guy that is playing the part now. I will be glad to see the old Craig come back.

I agree I didn't like this Craig at all. Maybe it is because I liked Scott and then Hunt wasn't bad at all. This Craig just was kinda creepy.

If we can't have Hunt back, Scott will be great. That is still unbeliebable. I thought Scott was doing good out in primetime. I can't wait for the change.

I personally would love for Scott Bryce to come back as Craig. Scott was the best person to play Craig not to mention that he is very handsome.
