As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

The audience has been waiting so very long to see Katie and Brad have a baby together, so why would the writers absolutely ruin this anticipation and excitement for the audience by killing Brad off. The audience never gets the chance to see what they have been wanting to see for a very, very long time. The characters of Katie and Brad have been wanting a baby and waiting for a baby for a very long time, but the writers ruin it horribly by killing Brad off so that Brad never gets a chance to see his son and Katie never gets to share her life with her son and her husband together. The writers claim the audience wants drama, but they definitely don't want this kind. The writers were worried about the ratings before, they should worry now. This story line was written in very, very poor taste. It was very disappointing to watch.

I was so upset thinking that Brad couldn't at least see his son. I was hoping that he and Katie would have some time together however brief. They could've had a struggle with the gun AFTER. It was so disturbing.

I shut the tv off!!!!!may never watch this soap again....Was very very disappointed.

I am SO glad you guys think this way too. I was so disgusted watching ATWT on Friday I almost turned my Tv off. I had to seriously remind myself that it wasn't real. I am so upset with the way they wrote Brad off. I mean he played such a sweet guy they could have at least made it not so dramatic for those of us who loved Brad and Katie together. All of these story lines lately are very upsetting. How many miscarriages are they really going to have played out on the show? I mean geez, let the fans be happy about something on the show. No one wants to watch a bunch of miserable people mourning people all the time. I think the writers need to stop focusing so much on death. I would much rather see a scandalous affair between Jack and Carly or something. Lol. I really hope someome who has an important role in writing the show knows how upset people are about how much ATWT has SUCKED this week.

I thoght i was going to be sick when Brad got shot! What a waste of a wonderful story of Brad and Katie raising their bundle of joy together. Every other story is rushed or half done, Adam comes back for like 5 minutes and leaves, Bob has brain surgery and is never seen again, Dusty and Bonnie are over before they even start, and where is Jade and why is she not getting to know the dad she just found! I won't even start on the while Lily storyline, Maybe the show needs some fresh people in the writing department other then writers who have already caused one shows cancellation.

me too fans! Me too! I was so upset when he got shot. I like Brad...at least he wasn't a stick in the mud like his brother jack. I know i am upset at the fact they give us this tease with brad and katie finally having a baby together and then yank it away from us. I believe the writters really don't care what we think otherwise they would let us get our way sometimes. Sick that they didn't even alow Brad to see his baby. Poor taste if i may say so myself.

Ugh! I agree. I have been so excited lately to get home at night and watch my tivoed ATWT but now that this has happened it's kind of lost my interest. The story lines lately have been horrible!
@koolgreenakers- You are SO right about all of the story lines- ever since we have had the "New" Lilly it seems like she has lost her backbone and is just pathetic woman to me. I'm SO sick of Damian and her. And now Maev is leaving, which was the ONE thing I was happy about. I thought Holden might just find himself a decent woman who would treat him right. But I'm sure he will just get back with Lilly and she will continue to mess with Damian's head as well. And then don't even get me started on Meg, she is going crazy too!
There are just too many bad story lines lately to even talk about. I'm so upset with the writers being so negative all the time. I miss the happy Katie and Brad. And the happy Vienna and Henry. :/

WE are all in agreement that it would have been nice to have Brad at least see his son before he was shot.

Some super cop Jack is shooting in the dark after having a few beers to drown his sorrow for whatever the reason.

And Katie, what's up with her naming the baby Jacob instead of Brad after his father?

I know the writers can't please all of the viewers all the time but this time I'm with you fellow posters. I think it stinks.

I Tivo my soaps, but for the last 3-4 weeks I literally watch it in fast forward and only stop here and there to catch a quick line. I usually save a weeks worth of shows for the weekend, but this week I zoomed through all 5 days in about 15-20 mins TOTAL. It's not worth watching if they're going to do this kind of thing. And what about Liberty? She's going to be devastated. She just found her father, got basically date raped/pg, had a miscarriage and now.... no father in her life. What a waste and what a waste of Jack. What will happen to him? I know it was an accident, but he'll never forgive himself for this. His marriage is probably over. What's he going to do now, go back to Carly?

And one more thing.... from what I read in SOD, they're not even getting rid of the actor. He's still going to be on the show. Is he going to be another ghost? It's not like they couldn't afford the actor so they killed him off. They intentionally did this without any chance of return, unless they play the old "he faked his death for security purposes since we were trying to get Uncle Ralphie"

I do not understand why the Soap writers kill off or write off people who have ties to the main families in the town, instead they start bringing in people who do not. They can get rid of; Mason, Luke (not because he is gay either, because I liked that storyline once, I am just sick of it), I really do not want to see Maddie back either.
I am really upset about Brad...not fair, if they needed to get rid of a Snyder, get rid of Meg, she is whiny and male dependent.

It makes me sick that the writers have done this to Brad and Katie. They have fought so hard to have a baby and the same day the baby is born, they kill Brad. UUUGGGHHH it makes me so mad!

All writers in the soap biz need to go and watch the first few years of Ryan's Hope. THATS how you write a soap
