As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

I have been watching this show for 40 years and am about this far from stopping. (OK, CBS can now replace it with Newlywed Game 2010 or some other cheap, easy-to-produce game show)

I HATE MOST OF THE STORYLINES
I cannot bear Audrey OR Lynn Herring. Trent Dawson is a terrific actor, but even he looks lost trying to handle the ridiculous situations his mother (the one character, and I didn't think this was possible, who makes James Stenbeck look like a humanitarian) prods him into. Find something interesting for this character and actor to do, and send his mother and Uncle Ralphie on a slow boat to Sicily.

Ditto all the Ciccones. I am so sick of Janet I could scream, and her sister is worse. Even the hint that she might be headed for a "thing" with Dusty is intolerable!! Once again the writers have pulled off the incredible: a story line that makes Parker and Liberty look like the responsible, grounded players in the game.

And Lily/Holden/Damien/Maeve?? Gag me. Is there a way that they can all split up and go back to Malta?

I remember with such fondness the days of Tom, Margo, and Mr. Big; Lucinda, Sierra, Tonio, and Montega; John Dixon; even Lisa and her many machinations. Why oh why can't we have some creative storylines and some real fun???

I have been watching ATWT for almost 50 yrs. The past year or so I have been disappointed at several s/l's but I think the show now is great. I love all the characters you are sick of. If you have been watching as long as you say how can you say that Audrey is worse than James Steinbeck? You must not remember the same James Steinbeck I do. And I loved James Steinbeck. I like the new s/l's. I look forward to seeing what happens to Liberty, her baby and Janet. I like Teri and look forward to see what happens between her and Dusty. I like Lily and Holden's storyline. I think Henry and Audrey are very funny. I am not so happy with Uncle Ralphie. I really don't like when a mobster just shows up. But like all the shows we have seen in the last 40 or 50 yrs, not everybody likes ALL the story lines. What some like others don't. Of course you are sick of Janet. You are suppose to be sick of Janet. That is how the writers are writing it. I don't like all the s/l's but I sit and watch every show. From beginning to the end of the hour. Hey, I might miss something. I hated that GL ended. I have watched that show as long as I have ATWT. But the s/l's on GL were almost all bad. I was sorry GL ended but I will be so sad if ATWT ends. This is my very favorite soap.

Bring back the Bob, Kim Hughes, Lisa, our old favorites. if ATWT keeps forcing all thses new characters down our throats, it will be gone too, I am still going through GL withdrawal and ATWT just isn't giving me that fix. I fast forward through so much of it, can't stand how Henry is being pulled in to his mothers schemes, esp. don'tlike the whole uncle Ralphie story, and Damien can't go away fast enough and when our they going to get Lily out of her whinny stupor, and they keep dropping the ball on storylines, What happened to Bob & Kim, where was Dusty,
etc. etc. Can you tell I'm still ALITTE upset with CBS?

Is 'uncle ralphie' really leaving with Henry's mum/Janet/Terri and the whole gang of eejiots!! LOL
sure hope so....AND PLEASE WRITES GET IT RIGHT WITH LIBERTY! That s/l is terrible.

Thank godness I'm not the only one who is sick of these story lines. I fast forward through most of them and finish watching in about 20 to 30 minutes. As a ATWT viewer for more the 35 years it is making me sick how the writers are rewriting history!!!

Please send Demon Seed back to Malta! Bring back the real Lily (Martha)!!! Put the Whiny A$$ stalker on a bus back to Texas with Josh!!!! Have the Mother from Hello take a leap of the roof at the Lakeview!!!! Let Dusty get rid of Ralphy in his own wicked fashion!!!! And as for Janet - bring back the old Carly from rehab and have us a good old Cat Fight and send Janet back to where she came from!!!!

I absolutely agree and am about to be an ex-watcher. How many times can Lily and Holden be split up? Are we really supposed to believe (even is a soap) that Lily would be so fickle?


The Audrey/Henry/Vienna story line is equally silly AND boring.

Let Liberty lose the baby or have her abortion instead of shoving your politics down our throats. No one can watch this fight go on and on.

I for one, will change the channel, after 30+ years!

Audrey and Ralphie leave this week or next so relax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do you get all the good info about comings and goings? I'd love to be able to look in on it!

I can't understand why some people are whining so about storylines that they think are bad and don't like. I have been watching these soaps as long as most of you and even in the so called "good old days"there were still "bad" storylines and storylines that were unpopular. Just like in life the good old days seem better when we look back, but then they probably didn't seem as good then as we remember them to be. When I get uninterested in stories I stop watching as much and come back later when something I like better is happening. I don't wish actors get written off or stories get dumped or that everyone lives in a storybook happily ever after scenario.Some times you have to mix it up a bit to keep things from being boring. I just look at the parts I like and pay little attention to the parts that I don't. I remember that everyone has different tastes and opinions and those same characters or stories that I like or dislike, someone else is feeling just the opposite and it is really not just about me. I hope the show goes on for all who want to watch.
