Ok say Liberty is pregnant (or even one of our children) We find out that if they carry this perfectly normal, healthy child to term the mother "could" die.
Would you expect your child to risk their life to carry a child they never planned? Would you be willing to take that risk, knowing your child that you love may not get through it?
Is murder ok then?

I know I would NEVER want that for my child.

This is NOT a fair question. Liberty does not have health risks. If she did not want a baby, she should have used PROTECTION!! Teach your kids consequences!!! You cannot get an abortion and then pretend you were never pregnant.

For the record I was 16 high risk pregnancy. My mom NEVER gave the option for an abortion. The thought NEVER crossed my mind.

YES it IS a fair question. I asked "what if" ..afraid to answer huh?
Just as I thought.
Kudos to you for being pregnant at 16 and having your baby.
Your mom letting you go through a high risk pregnancy...well IMO is crazy, especially if the risk was to you!
Again that is your choice, and we don't have the right to take that away from you, just as you don't have the right to dismiss a differing opinion.
If it were MY choice, I would have NEVER let my daughter have a baby that could potentially KILL her. Who said people get abortions and then pretend they were never pregnant?
I know women who agonized over that decision, but knew it was best not to bring an unwanted child into the world...rape and incest victims to be exact. Does your (high and mighty, my opinion is the "right" opinion) include those people, or is it ok to terminate then too?
Furthermore, babies are made sometimes with protection...
and no one should have to suffer a consequence because of a mistake.
Geeze what a great reason to bring a child into the world, to make you suffer your mistake..hey you did the crime, now you have to do the time.
Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside...

I was raped at 16. I did not want to be a mother. I did not enjoy being pregnant. I was scared. No matter what abortion did not enter my mind. No, I was not the best mother in the world. I was 16. I tried my best and he is grateful for that. I look at him today and think what if I would have killed him. My life would be empty. I have other kids, but I could not imagine life without him.

Tell me something. When you make mistakes 9 times out of 10 you pay for your mistakes. Actions have consequences. There is always open adoptions.

Again that was YOUR choice.
YOU made that decision, and any woman has that right.
Not every mistake in life warrants a consequence.
Of course you couldn't imagine life without him, the day he was born he was part of your life.
Some women aren't equipped to handle that.
It's all about choice, and we are all entitled to it.
Open adoptions IMO suck!
I could not handle the mother of my adopted baby hanging around...again that is MY opinion.
Adoption carries a huge burden as well, although it's a wonderful thing its never over for the birth mother. Always wondering where your child is and how he/she is being treated, can be emotionally devastating.

You still didn't answer my question.

Abortion is to be taken seriously. I personally think women just have an abortion at the drop of a hat. If I listened to the doctor I would not have any of my kids.

Not all women use abortion as a contraceptive.
There are many women, teens included that simply are not able to have a baby.
I to don't think it should be something taken lightly...I do however still believe it's an individuals choice, and one that should be respected. Just like you expect respect for your decision.

Thank you!!

I believe that as long as I raise my children the "Right" way((meaning the way I see fit) I shouldn't have to worry! My youngest (thanks to tv) already knows what abortion is and believes as our family does, that it = murder (with out my saying much on the subjct. I try to go with the "what do you think" approach with my kids. so far it works pretty well. So on that one I don't think I'll have to worry. But I'll deal with what life brings me. What other people do is their choice and fine for them. This is a soap so it's different and luckily it's not real!

I too raised my children the "right" way.
My way is to give them all the information, and let them make their own choices. Of course it was different when they were very young, I then made sure their choice wasn't life or morally threatening.
As for your post what about the baby's voice...according to some posters, children under 18 don't have one. They belong to their parents, so I guess if that's true it's the parents decision.

You make a good point, someone should ask the baby, so take it out and ask it, but I don't think your gonna get a response seeing how it doesn't have a brain, a tongue, or lungs things you kind of need to talk. So let's do this, if you want it you can have it but don't force me to carry it around for 9 months, you might as well hold me hostage for nine months, which is also illegal.
All those people saying it is killing a person by having an abortion should volunteer their body to carry the baby for nine months instead of forcing someone who isn't ready for such a commitment.

WK 1 of preg: Your first week of pregnancy is actually begins the first day of your last period.

WK 2:At the beginning of week 2 the egg implants into the uterine wall

WK 3:While this embryo doesn’t look anything like a fetus or a baby at this point, the brain, backbone, and the cardio-vascular system – complete with a beating heart are beginning to form!

WK4:At this point your embryo has three main brain sections: the forebrain, middle brain and hindbrain. Parts of the eye, including the pigment and optical stalk are visible. The beginning of a mouth with tongue is distinguishable and the thyroid and lymphatic system is forming. Lung buds are forming and the heart is quite large, with circulation well established. The first thin layer of skin is formed and buds that will become arms and legs are becoming visible.
**At this point you may take a home pregnancy test!!!!!

WK5: The first system to form, the circulatory system is now functioning with all four chambers of the heart present.

WK6:The first movements will take place halfway through this week. Nostrils are beginning to form and the neural tube that connects the brain and spinal cord will close this week. The skeleton is formed. The appendix is in place and intestines are developing. At this point, brain hemispheres have formed and brain waves can be recorded. The heart has four separate chambers and the heartbeat will soon become more regular.

They have a BRAIN from the start. They have a HEART, unlike some people.

OMG we KNOW!!!
How many times must you post that?
It's FINE what you believe in, please stop shoving it down our throats and please stop trying to change our minds.
We get it, and we still believe it's an individuals choice.
No amount of posting those facts is going to change that.
There are just as many arguments for the other side.
This thread was about Janet being a bad mother right now, and she is!
Regardless of her beliefs she is PUSHING them on her daughter, who doesn't feel the same way!
How would you like to be told you HAD to have an abortion because your parent told you too?
Would your body still belong to them cuz you're under 18?
Janet sucks at parenting right now, she has a one track mind..(hmmm never mind).

Oh and P.S. regardless of your stats, a baby still can't talk.
It's NOT Janet's right to "let" her keep or "terminate" the PREGNANCY.

Thankyou!! Your post really brightened my day!! I hope your son knows how lucky he is! I also find it interesting the words individuals choice what about the babies choice?(even if we choose to ignore the truth it is still a human being, even though it's not fully formed) does anyone ask them what they want?

You make a good point, someone should ask the baby, so take it out and ask it, but I don't think your gonna get a response seeing how it doesn't have a brain, a tongue, or lungs things you kind of need to talk. So let's do this, if you want it you can have it but don't force me to carry it around for 9 months, you might as well hold me hostage for nine months, which is also illegal.
All those people saying it is killing a person by having an abortion should volunteer their body to carry the baby for nine months instead of forcing someone who isn't ready for such a commitment.

Awesome post!! ( I love how people can ignore it!) I think as long as we believe as we do our path is all set! So just sit back and relax!!
I think If she has the baby once she holds it she'll be fine. At least she has a family willing to support her! as im quite sure if she told Janet she wanted to keep it Janet would let her(who is she to say no, she did the same thing when she had Liberty). I think(hope) it all works out!

Hey thanks for sharing that, where I come from they just pop a little sperm and an egg in an incubator, crank it up and in less than an hour you have a walkin' talkin' poopin' baby. So this method here is new to me.
So according to your time line the baby is ready to get out and start doing for him/her self huh. I mean it has a brain, a heart and skin what else do you need. Yank that thang out there Liberty and get on with your life. Great then there is no need for Liberty to suffer through 8 more months of heartache and 50 hears of headache huh. She can go ahead and let the doctor take it out and give it to Emily or Janet, which ever one yells first dibs.

I am not shoving anything down anyones throat. If someone wants to post it has no brain, heart whatever. I will show them proof it does from the very the start of conception.

It is Janets right. Liberty is her minor daughter.

Yeah I read it you said the "baby" has a brain, skin, a heart what else do they need?? They are obviously ready to strike out on their own, what do they need Liberty for?? The "baby" has grandma Janet and Psycho mom Emily. So Liberty goes ahead and gives it to them and they take it from here. No sense in forcing someone against their will to devote 8 more months of their life for something that might or might not develop into a person. Would you bet your life on something that might or might work out? If it was something Liberty wanted then that would be one thing, but Liberty doesn't want this baby she is miserable. It's her body it's her choice, in case you haven't been watching she doesn't need Janet's permission to have an abortion.

I am not shoving anything down anyones throat. If someone wants to post it has no brain, heart whatever. I will show them proof it does from the very the start of conception.

It is Janets right. Liberty is her minor daughter.

Janet's right you say. So would it be Janet's right also if she wanted to force Liberty to have an abortion just because she is her minor daughter. And what about Liberty's rights? Just because she is a minor doesn't mean she doesn't have any, at least not in this country.

Edited to add:

I've stayed out of posting in this thread because I wasn't about to get into an arguement about prochoice or not until you posted that statement bolded above. If we are going to discuss that issue then your statement needs to be discussed also.
The point is, Janet is being a bad mother by taking away her daughter's rights. She would not have wanted her parents to make her have an abortion back then so thery did the only thing they knew. Right or wrong they did it.
Oddly enough Janet doesn't look to be 34 years old to me, which is how old she would be if she was still in high school like she said when she got pregnant by Brad.

Thankyou!! Your post really brightened my day!! I hope your son knows how lucky he is! To have a mother as great as you!!Im glad im not the only one who thinks we need to remind our kids that"Actions have consequences" and sweeping them under the rug doesn't change the facts!!!

I agree that Janet doesn't look to be 34 either. I think the actress is 40 in real life.
