As the World Turns - MESSAGE BOARDS

Our life syles have changed so much as well, not as many young people are interested in soaps as some of us older ones that were raised on them. So many mothers working outside the home now and just not the interest that there used to be. Many people read the updates on these sites as well.. Don't think that you can blame it on any one thing, and I really don't think any of the story lines mentioned played a big part in any show going off the air...

i just read that brad wont be recast there going to killed him off instead of recasting him. i tape the soap and watch it later alot of people have vcr records and you can tape the show while you are at work and come home and watch it later in the day

I can't live without ATWT. I've been watching every sense I was in high school. Back then it was in black and white and only 30 min. long. Nancy was married to Chris. I remember when Bob was born, when he married Lisa and they had Tom. The s/l always seems to pick up after a drag...maybe it will again and it won't be cancelled. We can only hope.

I, too, hope that the soap is not cancelled. I can remember when it was in black and white and have watched it whenever I have been on vacation from work or home for any other reason. I am retired and watch it daily now. If it is unfortunately cancelled, I bet the last thing we would hear as everything fades to black is the sound of James Stenbeck laughing.

I can remember watching in black and white also. I used to come home for lunch in elemtary school and watch it with my mom. I can remember when Tom was left in a military school or somthing like that and Bob was looking for him. Does anyone remember when Lisa had a little boy I think his name was Chucky? I have recorded the show for years and watch it after work.

I read that ATWT was renewed for only a year.Y&R two more years. Soaps are just not that interesting any more.

I have enjoyed watching ATWT since sisters Annie and Dee Stewart "fought" over Brad and John Dixon lusted after Dee and James Stenbeck tormented Barbara Ryan. Sigh. Margo and Tom had adventures. Then there were the Dr. Ben years with Ben and Jessica (both had dignity) and the first "adult" Bonnie (who also had dignity) and Camille and the cute Brad - there were, I think, two before the current Brad.

I'll miss ATWT if it goes off the air. I have enjoyed it, left it for work until I learned how to work a VCR - just to watch this show. Sigh.

I hope it stays on the air. I'd like the actors and even the writers (who sometimes disappoint) and all the related crew to have jobs. I've been entertained for years by this show; shame to lose it now.

sounds like bitter grapes from a GL fan to me. AS THE WORLD TURNS is and has been the best soap on tv for decades. It will be around as long as tv exsists. It sure beats Y and R dragging out the story lines for months on end, or B andB it's like watching incest with so many people hooking up with family. GH is all about sonny and who cares. I can't even try to get interested in the rest of them.
